Today's episode is a replay of my interview form 2018 with Lyn Ulbricht, the mother of Ross Ulbricht. With Ross being pardoned by President Trump, I felt it was a great time to revisit this interview and to shine a light on the incredible story of a mother fighting for her son. Here's my original show notes: On today's episode of Felony Friday Lyn Ulbricht joins John Odermatt to discuss her son Ross Ulbricht's case. Ross, of Silk Road fame, was convicted of money laundering, computer hacking, conspiracy to traffic fraudulent identity documents, and conspiracy to traffic narcotics by means of the internet in February 2015. He is currently serving a double life sentence plus forty years without the possibility of parole. For a special Thanksgiving episode of Free America Now, Eric is sharing a recent interview with Lyn Ulbricht, mother of Ross Ulbricht, who is currently serving two lifetime sentences in federal prison for founding the Silk Road website. Not all families get to be together this Thanksgiving. In some case, it is because our government is run by dirty, corrupt bastards.

What an amazing celebration we had at the luxurious Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Florida, on October 16 for the 2000th episode of the Tom Woods Show. Hosted by Jeff Deist, the episode includes appearances by Tom Woods Show favorites like Scott Horton, Doc Dixon, Angela McArdle, Michael Boldin, Eric July, Lyn Ulbricht, Jimmy Morrison, The Pholosopher, Tho Bishop, Michael Maresco, Caryn Ann Harlos, and Michael Malice. Video is better than audio for this episode, but if audio is all you have, that's fine, too. It's entertaining all the way through, I promise.

Who is Ross Ulbricht? Was the Silk Road founder framed for murder by corrupt cops? I asked Lyn Ulbricht about her son who created the deep web e-commerce platform called “Silk Road” which earned $183 million dollars, where its users could exchange a variety of goods, both legal and illegal, which was drugs in most cases. Ross Ulbricht was sentenced to double life plus 40 years without parole, at the age of 26. Ross was a first-time offender who was charged with non-violent crimes and still got twice the prison sentence as El Chapo. Lyn Ulbricht was expecting a pardon from former President Donald J. Trump, that never came. Ever since Ross went to prison, Lynn Ulbricht has been campaigning to expose the corruption within our judicial system and the shocking sentences handed down by prosecutors and judges. I'm conflicted in many ways but what I am sure of is that his sentence feels incredibly unfair. Today's episode of Felony Friday with Lyn Ulbricht was co-produced by Lions of Liberty Pride member Tyler Colford. At Lions of Liberty we invite our Nittany and above Lions Pride members to assist with producing an episode of one of our shows. You can hear more about Tyler below. Lyn Ulbricht returns to Felony Friday for a second time. She was previously on the show back on episode 137. Lyn is a warrior for criminal justice reform and of course she advocates fiercely for the release of her son Ross Ulbricht. Ross was the creator of Silk Road and is serving a life sentence for the non-violent crime of creating a website. Silk road was a place where individuals could freely buy and sell goods using bitcoin. The site did not allow child pornography or stolen goods to be sold and was mostly used for marijuana transactions. The trial was filled with prosecutorial corruption and suppression of evidence. The judge in the case, who is no longer on the bench, gave Ross an incredibly harsh sentence that had no precedence. In this episode we talk about how faith has helped Lyn and Ross to navigate this crisis is their lives. And how Ross has been able to find peace, while incarcerated, through gratitude and by forgiving those those who served him with immense injustice. Please visit FreeRoss.org to sign the petition and to donate to his legal defense. Tyler Colford's, aka Krypto Man, song #FreeRoss which is played during the episode after Lyn's interview is available on Spotify and for purchase on Amazon at this link. Visit Tyler's website. Ross Ulbricht, the founder of Silk Road, an online Bitcoin-based marketplace, was arrested in 2013. The authorities primarily targeted him due to the actions of Silk Road's users, who frequently utilized the site for drug transactions. Ulbricht was eventually sentenced to life in prison, highlighting potentially severe problems in the justice system. The case touches many issues, ranging from drug policy to privacy rights to unfair sentencing. In this episode, I spoke with Ross' mother, Lyn. We discussed the case, her son's imprisonment, and how the government is overstepping its bounds. Lyn and Cody Wilson elaborate on the fallacy of the aforementioned book. The last 30 minutes is very light-hearted and fun as we counsel Chris on his love life.
