Smooth Criminal, A One-Man American Crime Wave exposes the consequences of our government releasing hardened criminals back into society where some run amok, stealing, drugging, even murdering innocent loyal American citizens. We do not question the good they may do for the United States, nor do we argue that the program should be ended. That's for others to consider. What we strongly advocate is that innocent families need to be protected while these criminals are on the loose. The program's secrecy certainly needs to be maintained, but as a spy agency, the C.I.A. should be capable of controlling freed criminals without exposing their clandestine operation. Instead, appeals to the F.B.I., then ATF, and local police went unheeded. It's unconscionable that an innocent victim cannot get any protection, and is told, "Go home, he's no con artist," or that a terrorized man shouldn't have to fear he'd be jailed for simply appealing for help from the local police. Law enforcement was protecting the criminal and not honest upright pro-American citizenry. This book could have been called, "No where to turn," as there truly was no law enforcement willing to help rescue them from the terrorism they endured in these United States. The rationale, "A few Americans have to suffer for the overall good of 315 million of us," is not acceptable. Somehow, someway these secret agencies can remain undercover while protecting all law abiding Americans. We do not know the extent of the present program, but invite all victims to come forth, as did these families. The secret releasing of criminals is such a success, there's hardly a doubt it's continuing today. Today's victims need Government protection. Today I have the pleasure of talking with Dean Spade about his new book, Love in a Fucked-up World: how to build relationships, hook up, and raise hell together. This book builds on all of Dean's previous books, and shares their commitment to finding ways to build better movements for better worlds. Like all of his work, Love in a Fucked Up World homes in on the obstacles we face not only from repressive states and destructive ideologies, but also from our own very human weaknesses and blindspots.  This new book focuses on what Spade calls the “romance myth,” which shares so many features with, among other things, capitalism—ideas like a property, scarcity, ownership, status, power.  While showing how when romance is brought into activist spaces it can cause great harm, Dean Spade also shows that, if converted into a form which includes patience, kindness, and generosity, romance can complement and strengthen our activism at a time when it is needed the most.Dean Spade has been working in movements for queer and trans liberation, anti-militarism, and police and prison abolition for the past 25 years. In this episode, we walk into God's courtroom where He as Judge declares a messed up life ‘not guilty'—not because the person became perfect, but because Jesus paid the price. We can be forgiven and declared sinless because of the great Bible truth of forgiveness. It is why God's forgiveness covers past, present, and future sins.  God's forgiveness moves us from the darkness of guilt to the sunshine of peace! Justification is a completed, legal transaction that gives us access to God and a new standing. We're challenged not to abuse this gift, but to live in the freedom it creates, striving to be more like Jesus. This freedom of forgiveness allows us hold our heads up and live in victory.

Chains fell off, gates opened by themselves, and Peter walked right out of the prison, not even sure if it was real at first! Sometimes in life, we or our friends might face problems or things that seem impossible, just like Peter did. But God invites us to come to Him in prayer. He is strong, He is willing to help, and He is always with us. Sometimes the answer will surprise us, just like it did for Peter and the praying church. Sometimes God gives us strength to endure, or He sends help in ways we can't imagine. Psalm 46:1 says, God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. You're never alone—even when things seem dark or impossible. God's love and power can reach right into your situation. He can set you free, give you peace, and surround you with His care. So when you are in trouble, or when someone you know is facing something hard, turn to God. Ask for His help. Invite others to pray with you, too. Remember, our God is powerful and He loves you deeply. You are never out of His reach. That's a prayer I have for my own heart, for my family, and for you today: that we would remember to pray, to trust, and to lean on the God who rescues and provides. May it be so. A week after the shocking dismissal of Michael Colucci's 10-year-old murder charge because of prosecutorial misconduct on the behalf of SLED and the South Carolina Attorney General's Office, Bishop Venters — the daughter of Sara-Lynn Moore Colucci, whom Michael is accused of strangling to death in May 2015 — says she's ready to fight for a new trial.  Bishop, whose biological father died under tragic circumstances a few years earlier, was about 8 years old when Michael, her mother's new husband, adopted her. She was just 11 when Michael told her that her mother had died in an accident.  After her mother's death, Bishop says Michael and his mother Doris kept her away from her maternal grandparents, telling her they were bad people. She would later learn that her grandparents were suing for custody of her.
