Bournemouth(30:54) Man City easily beats a toothless Newcastle United(40:55) Tottenham fail to rebound from FA Cup defeat with an away loss at Wolves(50:15) Chelsea gets a much-needed win at home against Leeds United
EIN HISTORISCHES SPIEL! Liverpool fügt dem großen Rivalen aus Manchester eine unfassbare Niederlage zu, am Ende steht es 7:0 an der Anfield Road. Erling Haaland is not human. That we can all agree on, right? Brendan Dunlop, Craig Forrest, Jimmy Brennan and James Sharman try to make sense of Sunday's Manchester Derby that saw the Norwegian and Phil Foden become the first pair of teammates to each score a hat-trick in a Premier League match. Cristiano Ronaldo didn't play but of course Dunny had us talking CR7 for 15 minutes. North London is red, and no one seems surprised that Arsenal are flying because they were all swooned by how Amazon's All Or Nothing documentary portrayed Mikel Arteta. Conor Gallagher burned Crystal Palace as Chelsea find their footing under Graham Potter. Liverpool look like a shell of the title contenders we expected Jurgen Klopp to field this season, but Sharms is handling it better than you'd expect. Wolves sack Bruno Lage, but Dunny doesn't read Portuguese well enough to know who his replacement will be. Craig is thrilled the Vancouver Whitecaps still have a shot at making the MLS Cup Playoffs. Wonger and Dunny make repeated multi-sport references which sparks a verbal altercation between Jimmy and Jeff Cole about Muhammad Ali's ranking amongst the greastest boxers of all time. A great time had by all! Unless of course you're a Man United fan... Feargal Brennan, Jay Motty and Ant McGinley on duty as the Premier League RETURNS from the international break!! Erling Haaland's one-man demolition of the Premier League continued as his hat trick powered Manchester City to a 6-3 derby win over Manchester United. Arsenal clinched their own derby bragging rights with a 3-1 win over Spurs and Grahama Potter secured a debut win as Chelsea squeezed past Crystal Palace. Newcastle bounced back with three points at Fulham, as Everton and West Ham secured vital wins, and Wolves opted to sack Bruno Lage following their poor recent run of form. Kui praegu on selleks just nimelt Man City vs Liverpooli, siis aastatuhande vahetusel oli keskseks vastasseisuks Man United – Arsenal. Lahkame olemust, meenutame seiku, otsime paralleele. A weekend slate which seemingly had so much potential last Friday evening was...well....it was what it was. All of the major games including the Copa Lib final (boring), the Man United-Arsenal match (scoreless), Marseille & Stade Rennes (cancelled) failed to live up to the hype. We still managed to squeeze two hours out of the weekend by calling out PSG, evaluating game 2 of Tuchel's reign at Chelsea, questioning whether anyone in Liga MX is actually good, and wondering what happened to the Sao Paulo team that was soaring atop the Brasilerao. We also discuss Jose's future at Spurs, suggest that Scott Parker's Fulham may be doomed to an unfortunate relegation, and evaluate the January transfer window's most notable moves including Ozan Kabak's loan to Liverpool. We also lament the lack of fights and music from the weekend. Subscribe if you enjoyed and share the podcast with a friend who also thinks that Marc & Marq are essentials. Burnley's steady progress continued with a statement win over a Wolves side that are clearly missing their number nine. We talk about what Man United + Arsenal could learn from Sean Dyche and wonder whether Nuno will look for an ally to Fabio Silva in the winter window. We also discuss Chelsea's (sort of) comprehensive victory over London rivals West Ham and once again praise the game of Tammy Abraham up front for the Blues. Later, we preview the EFL Cup quarterfinals by discussing whether Newcastle can hang with Brentford, predicting that City & Arsenal will again lack creativity, and wondering whether Everton or Manchester United could challenge for the Premier League title. Plus, we beg Tottenham to take mercy on young Blondy Nna Noekeu on his professional debut. A bad result for the now notoriously “not that good” Man United gets us underway as we look back at the weekend’s action, giving Marcus many opportunities to pronounce “Solskjaer” in that way that he does. There’s way more than that though. We’ve got your Biblical Chelsea. We’ve got your Steve Bruce watching the cricket. We’ve got your Antoine Griezmann lobbing glitter about. We’ve got your Dean Gaffney and your Beppe Di Marco getting kicked out at Norwich. We’ve got your Fulham encroaching on the Thames. Get involved please.
