What a rollercoaster of emotions at the Emirates as Arsenal clinched a nail-biting 2-1 victory against Tottenham in the North London Derby! Trossard's brilliance and an own goal from Spurs' defender made this win even more dramatic. Talk about a game that didn't resemble the xGs and stats! Arsenal started with a swagger but then hit a rough patch. Our attacking prowess was evident, yet we struggled to convert chances - "Chance Creation FC" was in full effect, but "Finishing School" seemed closed for the day. It was a classic Arsenal conundrum that had fans on the edge of their seats! The atmosphere was tense, and you could feel the anxiety creeping in as we dominated without reward.Speaking of performances, Declan Rice was absolutely immense in this match. His midfield presence was a sight to behold - he had the game on a string! Gabriel Magalhães and Leandro Trossard were also standout performers, with Big Gabi's defensive masterclass and Trossard's crucial goal turning the tide in our favor. Tune in for more details about these stellar individual displays. We still have work to do on our efficiency in front of goal, but this derby win showcases our resilience. There's a mix of positives and areas for improvement from this game. Listen in for more about this heart-stopping performance against Tottenham. Savor the victory, but let's keep our feet on the ground. The challenges only get tougher from here. This is Arsenal - never straightforward, always thrilling! On to the next. Come on you Gunners!

Poslechněte si celou epizodu - uslyšíte i to, jaká vysvědčení vystavují Nosiči vody top 6 týmům české ligy. -----Nosiči vodyFotbalový podcast Seznam Zpráv. Travel can keep us away. Sickness can keep us away. Hell, bad results can keep us away. But when it's North London Derby time, nothing can keep us from our podcasting duties! That's right, our intrepid duo are here to preview Sunday's all important North London Derby. The podcasts starts where all podcasts should start with a laugh at our neighbors to the West, then we discuss Arsenal's what we learned from Arsenal's many fixtures since Tottenham's last match, the change in the way Premier League games have been refereed over the last couple of months, and we laugh at Chelsea again. Then the preview starts. What players may be out with injury for Tottenham? Who may replace them? What does that mean for the tactics each manager may employ? After the injury discussion, we talk about some key matchups and how they might affect the game. Then we look at the 15 day gap from Tottenham's last fixture and how that may affect the tactics, flow of the game, and, ultimately, the result. Rick gives his overview of Tottenham's defense, midfield, and forward units and how each may influence the game. Cal reviews each line of Arsenal's side and tries to guess what starting lineup Arteta may use. He has to choose from a more defensive set up and one geared for full on attack. Listen in to see which players are in each and which he thinks the manager will pick. There is a discussion of how important this game is for each team, the stakes that are riding on it, and how that might inform as to how the game plays out. Rest assured, that our podcasters put it all on the line with their predictions of the score and result. Tune in to hear what they think!Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
Arsenal fans have had a week to revel in their dramatic Champions League win against a stout Porto side, while down Seven Sisters Road, Tottenham fans are wondering what happened to their team during that same week. Cal and Rick are here to join in and discuss both teams and what the future's look like for each.2:45 But, first, Rick tries, unsuccessfully to teach Cal how to pronounce Ange Postecoglou.5:31 Cal (kinda) jumps right into discussing Arsenal's narrow win at the Emirates against a tough, skilled, and determined Porto side. It starts with an analyzation of Porto's style of play, continues into how it took a moment of brilliance to finally break through against them, and concludes with a discussion of the bravery shown by Arsenal's new keeper, and every Arsenal fans' new favorite player (at least through the international break) David Raya. Then Rick can resist bringing up Arsenal's participation in the upcoming Harry Kane Derby and relishing in him possibly sending the Gunners home in the Quarterfinals. Cal is not happy and has to "fire" back.38:10 Rick tells us what happened to guys that trotted out on the pitch against Fulham on Saturday (Rick doesn't want to call them Spurs). Rick looks at the contrast to the previous game, tries to explain the performance against Fulham (or at least rationalize it), discuss where Tottenham go from here. Then Cal can't resist playing a clip from Ange Postecoglou's post match press conference so Rick and analyze his comments. The ensuing process vs results discussion is quite fun.Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
Arsenal left it late while Tottenham slowly ground down whatever team showed up at Villa Park to play them. Dare we say it looks like there are two pretty dang good teams that call North London home? For this week at least.First, Cal details Arsenal's thrilling late win at the Emirates against a Brentford side that showed up to do everything but play football. Aaron Ramsdale's mistake meant that Kai Havertz was needed late on to seal the three points to send Arsenal top of the table. Listen to Cal analyze the game, discuss the evolution of Declan Rice, the improvement of Kai Havertz, and why Arsenal's midfield can lead them to the title.Next, Rick discusses why Tottenham hammering Aston Villa into surrender was Spurs' best performance of the Ange Postecoglou era. Listen to hear him marvel at Son's form, Johnson's energy, and Van der Ven's skill and all round badassness. He is very bullish on the rest of the season and on this episode, he tells you why.Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
Rinse - Tottenham have two weeks off to rinse the stench of their performance from the 1-2 loss to Wolves over the weekend. Rick is on hand to review the game and discuss the reason for the result, as well as Spurs poor run of form. You will hear his analysis of why Tottenham lost this match, his concern that his club has started slipping into some old, bad habits, what those habits are, and how Postecoglou can fix them.Repeat - Cal gets to talk about Arsenal repeating dominating performances by analyzing Arsenal's 0-5 drubbing of Burnley. And while Rick continually uses the phrase "pub team" our resident Arsenal fan is having none of it. Arsenal didn't suddenly get lucky and they haven't just had a run of fixtures against bad teams, rather, the Gunners have pushed the quality of their play to another level. One not seen by Arsenal fans in years. Tune in and Cal will analyze what they are doing differently physically, mentally, and tactically. Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
Sure, Spurs fans would love to have another extra time win and, wait . . . I think Arsenal just scored another goal! It was a great week for Spurs and Gunner fans as both teams did exactly what they needed to in order to keep their hopes for this season alive.First it was Spurs scoring a stoppage time goal to finally overcome a bright Brighton. Rick is up first to discuss how they were able to play through their mistakes and win in spite of their form and a difficult opponent. You can hear how excited he is to have the full Tottenham squad fit, even though they may not be clicking on all cylinders at the moment. He will make you think they soon will. Then Cal tries to describe the demolition of the team that showed up in the London Stadium wearing Claret and Blue. It wasn't West Ham. Or at least the same West Ham team that showed up at the Emirates in December. However, what made things even more difficult for the Hammers was it also wasn't the same Arsenal team that showed up that day either. Listen in to learn why Cal thinks this one is in the title race. All that and more on this episode of the Arsenal Tottenham Fan Podcast!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
Yes it's the 80th Episode of the Arsenal Tottenham Fan Podcast and, while Rick and Cal had some epic celebrations planned: confetti, prizes for our listeners, and even pictures of a photographer, they learned that, regardless of the occasion, the Premier League media think celebrations (at least by Arsenal) are not cool. So this episode will pass into history, just like the previous 79.But this is not just any episode. No, this is the one where Rick starts off by marveling at the incredible goal scoring form of the guy who is wearing Richarlison's jersey. He is finishing like a peak Harry Kane, yet we know it can't be him, can it? Whoever it is, everything he touches turns to goal. Kind of like how it is when Tottenham is defending set pieces. And Rick doesn't shy away from that topic either as it cost Tottenham a much needed win and saw them drop out of the top 4.Cal then celebrates Arsenal's must win win over Liverpool, quietly and reservedly, just like any Premier League fan should, right? Wrong!!!!!! No, he is all too happy to praise Mikel Arteta, every player, and all 60,000 fans who dismantled a Liverpool team that came into this match having lost just once in their previous 33 games. You will hear analysis of the key moments of the match, the tactics that freed Martinelli to run rampant down the left and hold Liverpool to just one shot on goal, and why Kia Havertz was actually the Man of the Match.Following that is a look ahead to the Tottenham v Brighton fixture and Arsenal's trip to suddenly bogey team West Ham.Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
That's right, we're back! While snow, sleet, and dark of night may not detour your postman; sickness, technical issues, and travel (not to mention three Arsenal losses) can interrupt the Arsenal Tottenham Fan Podcast. However, we are now well, technically savvy, home, and Arsenal have won two in a row . . . so we're back and better than ever! And yes, Cal, ever the optimist still feels Arsenal are in the title race now that Arsenal have overcome the Premier League team masquerading as Crystal Palace and, ex-Tottenham manager's Nottingham Forest squad. It took Arsenal a while to come to grips with the way Nottingham Forrest "blocked" the Gunners game, but like Robin Hood, they eventually found the target and went back home very merry men. Listen for all the positives, as well as a few worries, as Cal breaks down the key moments of the match.Rick was never concerned about how Tottenham were playing against the Fighting Neal Maupay's . . . except after they scored the game's first goal and look equal to the task during the first half. But Ange "Midas Touch" Postecoglou made the right substitutions at the half time break and Spurs took over the match in short order. They even had the audacity to give Neal Maupay some of his own Madison. You can hear Rick relive the match, analyze what made the key moments important, and discuss who he thought were the best players on the pitch. In the final segment you will hear Cal and Rick break down Arsenal's must win game against high flying Liverpool on Sunday and Rick mention Spurs' important fixture first thing Saturday morning versus Everton.Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
The WiFi on the Outer Banks of North Carolina let us down last week, much like the finishing of Arsenal's attackers on Saturday. Yet, we've persevered to deliver another podcast about Arsenal and Tottenham . . . just what the world needs! On this episode Cal mentions Arsenal's shocking win over Luton in terms of how it compared to Liverpool's and Man City's visits there and in terms of it's impact on Mikel Arteta, the PGMOL, and the fixture against Villa. From there, it's a deeper dive into the Villa match, which, he mentions, was a match that is hard to analyze. Nevertheless, Cal gives it his best shot, and Rick is all too happy to take a few shots, but much like Martin Odegaard, they were wide of the mark. However, when it comes to discussing Tottenham, Rick is as true as Richarlison's right boot (I can't believe I'm typing that). Ange's Spurs dropped the rot by topping Newcastle 4-1 and Rick is all too pleased to run riot over all aspects of this impressive win. Then it's Cal's turn to review the 1-1 draw between Arsenal and PSV in the Champion's League and preview who Arsenal can draw in the round of 16. The podcast ends with a preview of this weekend's upcoming matches for both Arsenal and Tottenham.Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
What a week for The Arsenal and what a game for Spurs! First, Arsenal see through Lens to the tune of 6 - 0, then scare Wolves before subduing them 2-1. Up north, Spurs ran, passed, and laughed their way to an exciting 3-3 draw with now third place Man City and their profligate center forward turned Eeyore of the Eastlands. Arteta said Arsenal just needed to score early and they did in both games this week. Cal is all too happy to relive all eight goals and how the first in each game opened the floodgates. But that's not all: there are discussions of Arsenal's domination of their Champion's League Group, the upcoming match vs PSV, and what the hell is a "dead rubber?" Cal and Rick move on to review the match against Wolves and Arsenal's ever improving attack, Zinchenko--the good and the bad, the 5 straight wins after Newcastle and the impact of Arteta's comments, and how the improving left eight is driving Arsenal's improving form.Postecoglou said, "let's have a go, mate." And boy did they. Rick is part proud, part excited, and mostly amazed at the way Tottenham are playing. Not just the results, but the daring, the flair, and the courage. Once again, Spurs goes to Manchester, faces the defending Premier League Champion, and returns to North London with something to show for their efforts. Hear Rick share his thoughts on a team without their best players and a manager without fear. Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
For the first time this season Arsenal find themselves top of the table, and, while Tottenham suffered their third straight defeat, they are still in fifth and only four points off Arsenal. We predicted the top of the table was going to be tight this season, but when four points separate first and fifth, it's squeaky tight!Has Arsenal found it's keeper? Or have they lost a keeper? Saturday's win over Brentford made a case for both actually. Cal and Rick fly into the penalty area with their takes on how Arteta has handled the Keeper situation for Arsenal this year, it's effect on Aaron Ramsdale, and what to make of Arteta's comments, or non comments, on this situation after the match. Cal discusses how good Bretford has been at home and how good of a win it was for Arsenal, what he learned, and what Arsenal could do to improve going forward.Meanwhile, down Seven Sisters Road, Rick is lamenting Tottenham's injury crisis and discusses how this affected Postecoglou's strategy for the match. They go further to discuss Son's (non) hat-trick, playing without any center backs, and which player has taken his game to the next level. Rick also talks about the "honeymoon period" for the new manager and how that also might be affecting his strategy and team selections. The podcast closes with a look forward to Tottenham's match against City and Arsenal's Champions League fixture against Lens and their Premier League match against Wolves. Thank you for listening! @ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
Match week 11 was so action packed that we have divided our normal weekly episode into two: one for Arsenal that discusses the Arsenal v Newcastle Game and the other to cover the Tottenham v Chelsea Game. This is the Tottenham episode. So much to talk about and so little time . . . unless there is a VAR review of course. How did Spurs win a match where they were outscored 4-1? Well, you'll have to ask Rick because he was happy with the performance, if not the result. And he is more than happy to discuss all the incidents:-2 Goals Given-4 Goals Taken Away-2 Injuries-2 Yellow Cards-1 Red CardThen Rick discusses the second half! Join us for a lively discussion that centers around all these events and touches on VAR, refs in general, and what is next for the administration of the game.Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
So much happened this weekend in the Premier League that Rick and I are dividing our weekly episode into two: one that focuses on the Arsenal v Newcastle Game and one that focused on the Tottenham v Chelsea Game. This is the Arsenal Podcast. On it we cover all the action from the slugfest (literally) that was the Arsenal Newcastle Game at St James Park. First, Cal discusses the West Ham match and how it might have informed Arsenal's mindset going into the Newcastle match. He talks about the football--yes, there was football to discuss, and you might get more of that from this podcast than any you regularly listen too. And then he and Rick get into the incidents:-the foul in the box (that did not get any discussion elsewhere)-Havertz's yellow-Bruno's forearm-Bruno's shoulder (fortunately we don't have to discuss his other body parts)-Nkietah getting stamped on-The "goal"-Arteta's and Arsenal's statement-The media's reaction-Why the Premier League may start losing fansThank you for listening! @ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
Thank you for your listening patience! Life got in the way of our weekly podcasting routine, but now we're back and focused on the week(s) that was. Really, could Spurs' fans be any happier? Do they even know if Harry Kane has scored a goal(s) for Bayern? Do they care? Things are quite going as smoothly for Arsenal fans as they recently drew with Chelsea--which didn't look too bad--until Brentford took all the spoils on Saturday. Our podcast starts with Cal discussing the main talking point(s) from the Chelsea fixture. Tune in to hear a unique take on the Saliba penalty and how it could be officiated differently in the future. From there, Cal discusses what it's like for Arsenal to have mid-week Champions League fixtures--something Spurs fans may reminisce about from time to time. We go a little more in depth on Arsenal's 2-1 victory over Sevilla and discuss how Arteta set up the team, how Arsenal approached the game tactically, Gabriel Jesus, and what the result meant for Arsenal's group stage ambitions.Rick is all too happy to take the mic and relive a glorious week for Tottenham. They won two matches, on the road, played three days apart. He touches on the win at Craven Cottage, a reborn Son, and an unsatisfied manager before delving into the victory at Selhurst Park. Near and dear to Rick's heart, or at least his place of birth, Rick admires the way Spurs approached the second half and controlled the game. He was significantly less impressed with the referee and the handball (non)call that allowed Fulham back into the game. The podcast ends with Cal touching on Arsenal's 5-0 win over Nations League, er, Championship side, er Premier League club??? really . . . Sheffield United. Most of the discussion is a season to date player review/analysis for some team members that have been dominating discussion in the Arsenal media lately. They are, in order: Eddie Nkietah, Gabriel Jesus, David Raya, Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, and Kia Havertz. Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
This weekend saw both Tottenham and Arsenal move on up into the Premier League's catbird seat, penthouse apartment, top o' the table! They are there with the exact same record and they got there with 1 - nil wins, but that is where the similarities end. Spurs defeated Championship League side masquerading as Premier League team Luton Town with one man tied behind their back while Arsenal finally conquered their demon, perirenal Champions Manchester City. The King is dead . . . at least until the interlull is over! Rick can barely contain his excitement as he discusses Spurs season so far and his (now) favorite manager--Ange Postecoglou. He was less enthused talking about Yuves Bissouma but reverted back to form when raving about Micky Van da Ven. Then Rick passes the victory baton to Cal and he ramps up the excitement by reviewing Arsenal's massive win over long time nemesis Manchester City. How can you be excited over something that was, well . . . less than exciting? Cal, happily, finds a way by analyzing how Arteta and Arsenal was able to slay the Dragon. Our intrepid podcasters finish up by discussing what to expect from Fulham v Spurs and Arsenal v Chelsea after the interlull. Thank you for listening! @ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
Another match week in the Premier League, another PGMOL controversy (#content). Rick and Cal are here to discuss all the action from Arsenal's two victory week, @Brentford and @Bournemouth, and, of course offer our takes on the Shitshow that happened at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The week started with Arsenal's 1-0 victory over a strong Brentford side in West London as a part of the Carabou Cup. There were a few important aspects of this match that may offer some insight into Arsenal's season that Cal identifies and discusses before moving on to Arsenal's second away clean sheet, the 4-0 destruction of Bournemouth. While it was a stroll along the beach, which Cal happily relives, there was a concerning aspect to the game that doesn't escape discussion. Then both Rick and Cal discuss Tottenham's controversial 2-1 win over 9-letter, er . . . 9-man Liverpool. Rick revels in the quality of play, Tottenham's performance, and the result. Are we the only podcast to discuss the game at length? But of course we discuss the shitshow put on by the matchday referees. Each decision is analyzed, the applicable laws are analyzed . . . hell, even the analysts are analyzed. So we're covering in from all angles. But that's not all. We discuss the PGMOL as an organization and offer some ideas to improve the dreadful refereeing we're used to seeing in the Premier League.Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com

Well, that wasn't very satisfying. Sure, there were some great moments, some not so great moments, and some edge of your seat action, but all in all, a draw, while fair, is a lot like kissing a relative. Rick and Cal are here to resume their unlove fest as they review the key moments in the latest edition of the North London Derby. Tune in to hear what each thought of the result, an analysis of the key moments, the turning point, the important factors in the result, what they learned about each team, what to expect from each team for the rest of the season, and so, so much more. NLD at the emirates left most of us heartbroken for several reasons. At the moment, the bigger concern is regaining back our core players to fitness. In a matter of "what could have been", the emotions and confidence would have been uncontrolable. But there's a lot to look ahead. In this showdown, Arsenal looked the part for a significant aspect of the game, but injuries and mistakes changed the entire outcome and the Identity we showed looked a shadow of itself at the final whistle. On this pod, I spoke about Arsenal's bright sparks and dynamics in the game. Also some elements worth discussion as we look a bit thin at the moment. As ruthless Arteta has been, he needs to apply that in some specific areas as he calls for improvement. There are a couple of surprise players I didn't expect to that needed to be called out. Listen and find out if you agree. Our next 2 games will be just as hard. We just have to bounce back. Onwards & upwards. We are the North London Arsenal!

The unknown: some chase headlong into it, some fear it, some avoid it at all costs, and yet it's exciting for everyone. And that is what Ange Postecoglou's appointment as manager of Tottenham has done for this edition of the North London Derby. However, before Rick and Cal get into the preview, they first must discuss Spurs', dare we say, "delayed" victory over Sheffield United. Next up is a full rundown on Arsenal's glorious return to the Champions League. You'll get to relive the exciting moments from the game, learn what the lineup meant for the goalkeeping position, and, hear why this result may play a significant role in the upcoming match against Tottenham. Which leads us into our preview of the North London Derby. Rick discusses why Tottenham fans are so excited about this iteration of the Derby, how he thinks Postecoglou will approach the game, who to expect to see on the team sheet, and what to expect from the game. Cal talks about how this match will be different from other games so far this season, how he feels Arteta will approach it, who is going to start, the key matchups, and which single player transforms Arsenal into a different, better team. And then it's prediction time! Tune in and then drop us a line to give us your predictions! @ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
Rick is back from his luxury vacation to his hometown of London! Tune in to be regaled with stories of his meeting Richarlison and his visit to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the match against Manchester United. You will also hear his take on Spurs' transfer activity and if Tottenham would be better now with or without Harry Kane. Rick also discusses Spurs thrashing of not Sean Dyche's Burnley and what that means for the season going forward. From an Arsenal perspective, Cal reviews the Gunners' thrilling victory over a club that used to be a bitter rival, play quality football, wear iconic kits, and hire managers that possessed at least some small bit self respect. From a discussion of Havertz's impact on the team to reliving Jesus' hilariously exquisite finish, I promise this episode is every bit as exciting as Declan Rice's stoppage time winner! (okay, that's maybe a slight exaggeration, but I can't help myself)Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
The Premier League Season is now officially underway!!! So that means it's time to overanalyze the results! But first, Cal and Rick have to discuss the latest transfer activity for their respective teams. Up first is Cal to discuss Arsenal's acquisition of Goalkeeper David Raya. Next, our intrepid podcasters get into the analyzation of Arsenal's 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest. There is a lot to unpack here: the lineup, the formation, and the tactics--and all before even getting into how the game played out. Never fear though, because that discussion follows. You'll hear how Arsenal won, the key to the game, and where Arsenal need to improve going forward. At about the 45 minute mark, Rick is up to discuss Harry Kane leaving North London for the greener pastures in Bavaria (at least they were pretty green in the last travel guide I saw). Was this the right move for Tottenham? Was it the right move for Harry? How will it affect Spurs season? You'll get to hear all that and more! But they don't stop there. They analyze Tottenham's 2-2 draw at Brentford including the new formation, tactics, and player debuts. There is a discussion of what to expect going forward from them team and why it might be better.Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
A new season is right around the corner so Cal and Rick are back and in midseason podcasting form! This episode is the Tottenham Season Preview. Rick discusses Tottenham's preseason friendlies and discusses how different the team looks from the last few years. What can Spurs fans expect from each position this season? Who starts? Who rotates in? And will Harry Kane line up for Tottenham or Bayern in the first match this season? All this is discussed is the positional review so you know what to expect on Sunday at Brentford. But that's just the start!Cal and Rick look at the impact Ange Postecoglou will have on Tottenham's season, the most important stretch of fixtures, the single biggest factor that will contribute to Tottenham having a good season or a bad season. Then it's prediction time! Will Spurs add another player? What are the negative and positive surprises to look out for? There is a bold for Tottenham's season, we discuss what the season looks like if everything goes right and everything goes wrong, and Rick predicts what actually will happen. The last segment of the podcast is Rick's predictions for the Premier League as a whole and you won't want to miss his bold prediction for this season--or his second bold prediction! That's right, you get a two for one on this episode! You'll also hear his prediction for Top 7 and sides that will be relegated this year.Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
A new season is right around the corner so Cal and Rick are back and in midseason podcasting form! This episode is the Arsenal Season Preview. Cal discusses Arsenal's preseason friendlies and identifies trends, some good, some not so good, to be on the look out for as the season commences. What can Arsenal fans expect from each position this season? Who starts? Who rotates in? And who is going to play multiple positions? All this is discussed is the positional review so you know what to expect once Nottingham Forest rolls into the Emirates. But that's just the start!Cal and Rick look at the impact of Champions League football on Arsenal's season, the most important stretch of fixtures, the single biggest factor that will contribute to Arsenal have a good season or a bad season. Then it's prediction time! Will Arsenal add another player? What are the negative and positive surprises to look out for? What did Bill Murray say about the impending apocalypse, "Human sacrifice, cats and dogs living together . . . mass hysteria!" Well, that's how Arsenal and Tottenham fans feel about this transfer window. It's only three weeks old and Arsenal have deals agreed with three new players and Tottenham two. For fanbases that are used to the deadline day trolley dash, this is absolutely mental. And, speaking of mental, Cal and Rick are here to give their take on each transfer, the window in general, and the winds of change that are blowing through each club. They discuss:Kia Havertz to ArsenalGuglielmo Vicario to TottenhamDeclan Rice to ArsenalJames Madison to TottenhamJurrien Timber to ArsenalAll this and much more! Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
Now that the football season is finally over, we can talk about what's really important--Transfers! Yes, the silly season is underway and Rick and Cal are here to discuss it. They open the podcast talking about the three most important needs for Tottenham (a difficult choice for Rick) and for Arsenal. Outgoings are next up on the agenda, so we look at the players on each team that have the highest possibility of leaving, who to, and for how much. Then the fun really begins as they discuss the rumored acquisition targets and how much each team will have to spend to sign them. The podcast ends with a brief look at next year's fixture list. Rick and Cal discuss the:BadGoodHow each team performed vs expectationsThe best gamesControversial momentsRate the manager (in Spurs case, the managers)Name the most improved playersName the Player of the YearThen it's accountability time! We go back and review our preseason predictions for Arsenal, Tottenham, and the Premier League to see how accurate we were and weren't. It was only our BOLD Prediction for the Premier League Season that kept us out of the relegation zone. Give a listen and have a laugh at our expense. We do! Thank you for listening!During the podcast we mention that our Transfer Window Preview will be recorded next week, but due to some scheduling conflicts you can expect it out the week of June 20th. @ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
Fire up the grill, break out the shades, and where is that shirt with the flowers all over it? Yes, summer, and the end of the Premier League season, is almost here, and not a moment too soon for Tottenham and Arsenal fans. But hey, Rick and Cal put away the suntan lotion long enough to discuss Tottenham's loss to Brentford and Arsenal's loss to Nottingham Forest. So fill up your glass with ice, pour a cool, refreshing beverage, and listen to Rick discuss the good of Tottenham and the bad of Tottenham. Refill your glass and come back to hear Cal talk about Kentucky Bourbon Tours, Jim Gaffigan tickets, and what Arteta was thinking when he put Thomas Partey at right back against Forest. Our fan duo then rant about Man City before previewing the last week of fixtures in the 2022-2023 season. Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
Tottenham spent most of the season in the Top Four and Arsenal spent most of the season on top of the Table. The results this weekend put those aspirations, at best, on life support, and at worst, buried alongside good intentions and childish dreams. Rick and Cal, reluctantly, discuss the post mortem of the Tottenham v Villa match and the Arsenal v Brighton game. They then conduct a brief autopsy for each team. You'd have thought they would have worn black suits and arrived in a hearse. However, even if the dreams are buried, the season is not over wo they preview the upcoming fixtures for each team. All this for the price of 0 dollars, pounds, or Duche marks. Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
Charles was coronated King, Arsenal were coronated as vengeful victors, and Tottenham were crowned champions of the Rick Nelson Derby. A busy week in London--and in Wisconsin, so we had to delay our podcast until Wednesday. In this delayed episode we do not discuss Charles, but discuss Spurs 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, Harry Kane's exploits, and Ryan Mason as current, and potentially, future Head Coach of Tottenham. It wasn't cold in Newcastle, and it was definitely hot on the pitch, but Arsenal were cool as they served up their dish of revenge. Cal revels in Arteta's gameplan, Odegaard's Captain's performance, Jesus' toughness, Xhaka's athleticism (okay, maybe not, but certainly his hustle), and Jorginho's control of the match. He is significantly less enthused about the officiating in particular and English football in general. We wrap up the podcast with previews of the upcoming weekend fixtures. Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com
Hope is what binds us together as football fans, it's what binds us to our favorite teams, and it's what we cling to when our favorite team get crushed by 138 charge Man City or are down 3-0 to a rampant Liverpool team at Anfield. Both those things happened this week our intrepid podcasters are here to discuss it. But this was a two game week so there is more. Rick relives Tottenham's 2-2 draw with Man United and Cal laughs at whoever was wearing Chelsea's uniforms and rants at their "fans." Oh, and he also discusses Arsenal's 3-1 victory, and then laughs at them some more. The only way it could be funnier is if John Terry were their manager. Rick previews Tottenham's upcoming London Derby with Crystal Palace and Cal hopes that Arsenal show up on Tyneside looking for the three points they needed last year like Bryan Mills looking for his daughter.Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com

The question is: could John Cleese play for the Tottenham team that showed up to St James' Park on Sunday. Granted, he's pretty old now, but his funny walk would have fit right in. Rick is so mad he'd like to slap Eric Dier with a fish! However, all he can do is laugh--and we do quite a lot of it in this episode. Arsenal, on the other hand, started out quite sketchy (too much?). Cal discusses how the Gunners are Holding on to their 5 point lead at the top of table, what went wrong against Southhampton, and what went right in the last 10 minutes. Daniel Levy's statement, the Ryan Mason era, and the upcoming fixture against Manchester United is analyzed. The podcast ends with a preview of the biggest match of this Premier League season: Arsenal against Manchester City, Arteta against Guardiola, and human against cyborg. Defending and progressing the ball have been a challenge for Arsenal lately and Cal creates 4 different lineups combinations and formations that can be used to improve in these aspects. Listen and let us know what lineup and formation you would like to see the Gunners use to win the most important game this season. Thank you for listening!@ATFPodcast1@ATFPodcast2https://www.arsenaltottenhamfanpodcast.com

International break finally over. First game back, NLD! A wonderful performance by Arsenal; winning a 3-1 match against Tottenham. Game of brilliance, confidence and control. Arsenal playing at the Emirates Stadium produced one of the best game yet. While it was not perfect, there's a lot to be proud of. Well deserving top 3 players in the game and sadly, the "other" guy. Listen and enjoy!
