Olympique Lyonnais is the most successful club in women's football, dominating Europe over the last 15 years winning eight Champions League titles. Only Barcelona have recently been able to compete. Lyon's success is the vision of club president Jean-Michel Aulas who wanted to create an iconic team, with the best players, but in the case of Aulas he also promised to ensure both male and female players were treated equally. This included the first mixed football training academy. In Olympique Lyonnais: The Champions League trailblazers we find out the story of how the French club raised the standard of women's football, going behind the scenes with striker and Ballon d'Or winner Ada Hegerberg, Chelsea and England defender Lucy Bronze and France and Lyon captain Wendie Renard who have all witnessed huge success and then change with Europe's elite catching up. Now South Korean born businesswoman Michele Kang has taken over the the French giants, with big ambitions for the club. Cerebral Women Art Talks Podcast

Tyler Ballon (b. 1996, Jersey City, NJ) creates monumental works inspired by the lives of people in his community. His artistic journey was shaped early on by his grandmother, a community activist and school lunch lady who embodied service and compassion. Tyler's grandmother recognized his talent and instilled in him a respect for others, regardless of their circumstances. Though initially torn between sports and art, Tyler chose the latter, dedicating himself to painting with the encouragement of his grandmother and his family. His parents, both pastors, reinforced his faith and sense of purpose. Tyler refined his skills through an advanced art program in his high school—the JC Arts program—and later at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where he earned his BFA in 2018. After graduation, Tyler returned to his community, making its people the focal point of his work. Through large-scale paintings, he honors their lives and experiences, ensuring they are seen and celebrated. His art embodies his faith, principles, and the legacy of his grandmother, offering encouragement and validation to those around him. Manuel Neuer was zo iemand. Elf landstitels, twee Champions League-zeges, wereldkampioen in 2014.

Sommige spelers winnen prijzen. Anderen winnen harten. Ronaldinho deed allebei.

Ousmane Dembélé scored in the first half to put PSG up 1-0 in the match and draw level on aggregate at 1-1. The match went back and forth, with both sides displaying incredible skill. There were diving saves, last-ditch tackles, fantastic dribbling, and curling shots that just missed the target. It was a heavyweight battle between PSG and Liverpool that ultimately went to extra time and then penalties to decide the winner.Gianluigi Donnarumma, who had an excellent night, stepped up huge for PSG and saved two Liverpool penalties, and Les Parisiens went on to win the shootout 4-1. We discuss whether the PSG goalkeeper earned a contract extension following that performance. We also talk about Désiré Doué, who came on in the second half and was the player in line to score the winning penalty for PSG. We discuss his sensational ability and what it means to score such a big goal at 19 years old.We break down Liverpool's strategy and how Luis Enrique countered that by being patient and trusting the players that got him to that point. We also look ahead briefly to a potential encounter with Aston Villa and former manager Unai Emery. The show concludes with us answering your questions, including whether Dembélé should be a frontrunner for the Ballon d'Or.As always, thank you for listening.

“Lacking respect for Mohamed Salah and lacking respect for Egypt and for African football.”That's how three-time Afcon winner Wael Goma sums up Jamie Carragher's comment that the Africa Cup of Nations is ‘not a major tournament'. The former England and Liverpool defender was taking part in a TV discussion about Mohamed Salah's chances of winning the Ballon d'or after Liverpool's 2-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday. He said because Salah hadn't won a ‘major' tournament like the World Cup, Euros or Copa America so he didn't have much chance of winning the coveted award for the best player in the world. But Africa's top footballing guns have come out angrily to defend the importance of Afcon. PRESENTER: Alan @Kasujja GUESTS: Ivory Coast's Wilfried Bony who won Afcon in 2015 Egypt's Wael Goma who won Afcon in 2006, 2008, and 2010 Football Journalist, Oluwashina Okeleji.

Hello Rank Squad! It's time for Champions League Takeaway, your late night delivery following the action - following the first legs of the new 'Playoff Round' in the competition, pitting the teams who finished 9th to 24th in the league stage against each other to earn places in the Round of 16.And it started with a bang, with a matchup between Manchester City and Real Madrid that we've seen multiple times in recent years, but not quite like this - and the game delivered, for the neutral at least. We discuss another City collapse late in a game, that tifo about the Ballon d'Or and Vinicius Jr's on-pitch response, the defensive frailties in both sides - but that were handled far better by Los Blancos, and all the rest. We also take a look at PSG's win over Brest and if the Parisiens are back in the conversation to win this thing; Juventus fighting off PSV in what should have been the USMNT-off; and why Borussia Dortmund are just much better in Europe than they are in the Bundesliga, as they hammered Sporting in Lisbon. Then in Part Two, we start with Bayern's trip to Celtic Park, where they won 2-1, but where their opposition caused serious problems for Vincent Kompany's side nonetheless; before moving on to look at managerless Feyenoord's victory against AC Milan; Atalanta falling to Club Brugge in controversial circumstances; and another win for Benfica against Monaco in the Principality. It's Ranks! And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?
