Adam Zdroik and Ryan Belongia look at Tuesday's six-game Champions League slate at DraftKings, the first of the season. Manchester City have more than a 90-percent chance to win with Erling Haaland favored to score a brace. Is there any reason to fit Robert Lewandowski into your lineup?

Host Ricky Sacks is joined by a returning bumper returning regular panel in Lee McQueen, Richard Cracknell, Jason McGovern and Patrick Tyrant as we review a much-changed Tottenham side showing plenty of promise but the club's pre-season ultimately ended in defeat as Barcelona won 4-2 to lift the Joan Gamper Trophy. Robert Lewandowski gave the hosts a very early lead in Spain, but Spurs responded impressively and turned it around by half-time as Oliver Skipp scored twice in just over ten minutes. The second of those looked like being the winner as the visitors remained in front heading into the final ten minutes, but three Barcelona goals ensured they won their traditional curtain-raiser for the 11th year in a row. We also discuss the signings of Van de Ven, 22, from Wolfsburg for an initial 40m euros (£34m) which could rise to a reported 50m euros (£43m) with add-ons.Veliz, 19, has joined the London club from Rosario Central for a reported £13m fee subject to a work permit. Both players have signed six-year contracts at Tottenham. They are Tottenham's fourth and fifth summer signings respectively following the arrivals of England midfielder James Maddison, Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and Israel winger Manor Solomon. Barcelona suffered their first defeat in LaLiga at Spotify Camp Nou this season as they were beaten 2-1 by Champions League-chasing Real Sociedad. Mikel Merino and Alexander Sorloth got the goals for the visitors, with Robert Lewandowski replying late on to remain on track for the Pichichi. After the game, Barça captain Sergio Busquets received the trophy. However, events in LaLiga this weekend were overclouded by more racist abuse aimed at Real Madrid forward Vinicius, this time in his side's 1-0 defeat at Valencia. That is where the podcast has to start this week. Support the show
It has been another crazy week for Bayern Munich as rumors are flying everywhere and fans are generally focused on next season while the 2022/23 squad is embroiled in a title chase. These are clearly crazy times and that is exactly why Bavarian Podcast Works is here — to help sort through the mess like Luke Skywalker in that trash compactor during Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Per the norm, there is a lot to talk about, so let's get to it: The latest Sadio Mane drama. How Lionel Messi throwing a grenade into his relationship with Paris Saint-Germain could lead FC Barcelona's Robert Lewandowski back to Bayern Munich. The official nail in the coffin on that Harry Kane rumor and why I'm starting to come around on Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic. A look at the “leaked” list of Bayern's plans for each player during the off-season.
Barcelona handed a debut to 15-year-old Lamine Yamal in Saturday's 4-0 win over Real Betis. The teenager came on for the final 10 minutes after goals from the returning Andreas Christensen, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and a Guido Rodriguez own goal had downed 10-man Betis. Sam is joined by Rik and Toni to discuss that win ahead of Barça's game against Osasuna on Tuesday. They also wonder what the next step will be with Yamal and analyse why it's been two years since Barça last scored a free kick -- Lionel Messi against Valencia at Mestalla if you're wondering. Join Matt Clark (@MattClark_08) and Román De Arquer (@Aeroslavee) to review the weekend action with crucial fixtures at the top, and most importantly at the bottom. Home is where the heart is, and for the majority of the weekend, it was where the points were too. Six of the eight matches played were won by the hosts. We start at the bottom, with Espanyol gaining a much-needed victory over Getafe, who have just reappointed José Bordalás. There was no immediate effect for returnee, instead it was his counterpart Luis García who registered a first win of his own. Espanyol had been the team with the longest winless run in the division, but that baton now passes to Getafe themselves.Down in Andalucía, Cádiz also needed to react after three games without a goal, taking on a resurgent Valencia who had won their last two games. Once again it went the way of the hosts, a valuable three points for Sergio's side. Valencia's momentum is stalled.Elsewhere Elche stunned everyone by pulling a 4-0 win out of the bag. Every game is now a must-win or they will be officially relegated.Real Valladolid went punch for punch with Atleti, but came out on the wrong end of a seven-goal thriller. In Part Two, we discuss the big two who scored four goals each, but it was Karim Benzema who closed the gap on Robert Lewandowski in the Pichichi race. For the title, Barça require just three wins to seal it.Lastly we look at the race for 4th, as La Real continue to hold firm, while Villarreal are trying their best to pressure them all the way.Matchday 32 concludes on Monday and Matchday 33 begins on Tuesday. Ferran Torres scored the match-winner as Barcelona secured another 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid at Spotify Camp Nou. With this win, Barça edge closer toward the LaLiga title. Moreover, this win vs Atletico also stops the negative streak of results that Barcelona had in the last couple of weeks. The first half saw Barcelona in control of possession, but Atletico had a couple of good chanced. However, just before the break, Raphinha found Ferran, and the Spanish winger scored the winner. Barça restore their 11-point lead over Real Madrid with just eight games to go. Atletico's 13-game unbeaten streak — stretching back to Barça's win at the Metropolitano in January — came to an end. But Barcelona were close to scoring more vs Atletico. Gavi, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski all missed chances to seal the win earlier. Although Atletico also had their moments. On his return to Camp Nou, Antoine Griezmann hit the bar inside 40 seconds and was Atletico's biggest threat throughout. Furthermore, the Frenchman also drew two saves from Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who kept a 23rd clean sheet in 30 LaLiga games.
Bayern Munich's season has been knocked upside down. The DFB-Pokal run is over, the Champions League hopes have been crushed, and now fan have been left to pick up all of the pieces, while hoping like hell that the squad can remain focused enough to capture the Bundesliga (which is no sure thing at this point): A preview of Bayern Munich vs. Mainz 05. The fallout from Bayern Munich's elimination at the hands of Manchester City including the Oliver Kahn getting ousted rumors, Thomas Tuchel's blame game, the team's collapse since the hiring of Tuchel, and more! Transfer talk including Bayern Munich's striker list — which has two less names these days, including Hasan Salihamidžić failing to take accountability for the lack of a Robert Lewandowski contingency plan.
Barcelona has moved closer to securing the La Liga title after securing a 4-0 victory on their visit to the coast. The match also saw Ansu score a goal, and Robert Lewandowski score twice, ahead of this week's Clásico in the Copa del Rey. Another noteworthy event was Eric's start as the CDM, while Barcelona recorded another defensive shutout with Marc Ter Stegen achieving his 150th career shutout. Everyone feeling positive this Monday? Franck Kessie's stoppage time winner handed Barcelona a third Clasico win in a row and, more importantly, moved them 12 points clear of Real Madrid at the top of LaLiga with just 12 games left. Sergi Roberto had earlier cancelled out Ronald Araujo's own goal at Spotify Camp Nou. Sam is joined by Toni, with a sprinkling of Rik, to discuss why Barça are more than a club, the LaLiga title moving into sight, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski, the Camp Nou atmosphere and why parking on a double yellow line is always a penalty offence even it it's by just 10 centimetres.Support the show

Barcelona lost for just the second time in LaLiga this season at the weekend as they were beaten 1-0 at Almeria to miss the chance to open up a 10-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of the table. Sam, Rik and Toni reflect on that setback, fresh from the Manchester United loss, ahead of a huge week for Barça. They face Madrid in the Copa del Rey semifinal and then welcome Valencia to Camp Nou. The challenge facing them is even bigger due to an increasing list of absentees through injuries and suspensions, with Robert Lewandowski the latest player to be ruled out of action. Support the show
The FC crew discuss Enzo Fernandez's move to Chelsea and the challenges it presents to Graham Potter to get his squad selection right and keep his team happy. The BarcaBreakdown is back discussing FC Barcelona's 1-0 victory away against Girona, thanks to a scrappy goal from Pedri. Unfortunately, Xavi's side were without Robert Lewandowski due to his last red card suspension, and Ousmane Dembele appeared to pick up a quadriceps injury. Pedri scored thanks to a Jordi Alba cross and a bit of fortune that Girona's goalkeeper missed the cross.
The BarcaBreakdown is back with FC Barcelona defeating Getafe 1-0 at the first La Liga game at Camp Nou in 2023. Pedri scored a goal from a wonderful Raphinha cross to put Xavi's Barca up 6 points in La Liga (for now..). Barcelona will now be looking onward to the Copa Del Rey match against Real Sociedad on Wednesday. Thankfully, Barca took home 3 points with Ronald Araujo, Frenkie De Jong, and Robert Lewandowski (red card suspension) all unavailable for the game.
In today's episode of Barca Talk, we discuss Copa del Rey and Femení. Barca defeated Ceuta 5-0 in the Copa del Rey round of 16, with goals from Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Franck Kessie, and Ansu Fati. Xavi rested his key players and gave squad players game time. Angel Alarcon made his debut for the team in the match. Barca will now face Real Sociedad in the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey at Camp Nou. In the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup, FC Barcelona Femení defeated Real Madrid and will now face Real Sociedad for the title. Barca Buzz TV is back with FC Barcelona beating AD Cueta to reach the Copa Del Rey Quarter Finals. Thankfully, Xavi was able to rest Frenkie De Jong, Ousmane Dembele, Ronald Araujo, and Jules Kounde for the full 90 minutes, with a La Liga game against Getafe looming this Sunday. Real Madrid is 3 points behind, so it is crucial for Barca to rest players when possible in the coming months.
