Welcome dear listener to the podcast of Premier League Champions. I'm Paul and I am joined by Enrique and Daz. The season is over - well unless you ignore Gianni Infantino's narcissistic monstrosity taking pace here in the US in the next few months. We are going to do one of our look backs at the season, Being Champions, The Big Red Weekend, and maybe we'll start to look ahead as Liverpool seek to defend their title..Part One: Season highlights:Arne Slot - 26 games unbeatenWin over City in November - Guardiola's 6 fingers after we beat them 2-0 - yes we have won that many European cupsKelleher appeared in a ton of games October through December - Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Newcastle - Liverpool had no injuriesWeek 17 - Spurs 3, Liverpool 6 - 8 points clear with a game in handUnited home - the conditions were really awful.Matchweek 26 - Performance at City away - Mo:). Had not lost against us in 8 at the Emptihad before that.12 points ahead with 9 to play - loss to PSG and Newcastle. Team started playing with some fear.…..until Mac Allister scored against Spurs!! That day was joyous…Final game and the parade. Last time we 3 spoke, we'd just lost to ChelseaPart Two - Liverpool as Champions and the chasing pack‘Nobody expected this'. Well they got 82 points with a team decimated by injuries and handling the Jurgen emotion.VVD - imperious for the most part - more strikers trying to pressure him nowMo Salah - 29 Premier League goals plus 18 assists186 goals, one behind Andy Cole which will put him 4th early next season245 for Liverpool - 40 behind Roger Hunt in second placeArsenal's over-reliance on set-pieces, and their inability to defend them was quite a feature. Complete inability to find resilience - the complaints had to have an effect didn't they?‘The level we play is so high, but something is missing' Arteta said after dropped points against Villa at homeOverplaying their hand with the 5-1 win over Man CityDid you see the decision to disallow the Villa goal - leads to 2 oli state teams in the Champions League….FOOTNOTE - Oliver refereed the United home game, Forest at home and Everton away. He refereed 3 of the 9 games before we won the title where we dropped pointsHis record is 6-8-6 for us - interesting?Part Three - Looking ahead:TransfersClub World Cup impact?Style next season? They are back in early July - lots of time for them to work on new stuffWe will be back with more reflections before we are done with the 2024-25 season. St. Mary's was a stage for late drama as Arsenal sealed second place with a 2-1 win over Southampton—a result that felt both hard-fought and deserved. Martin Ødegaard's stunning late strike proved decisive, ensuring Arsenal ended the campaign on a high note and set a new record for final-day wins. The Gunners huffed and puffed through a makeshift lineup and early missed chances, but their persistence and tactical flexibility shone through—qualities that have defined their season. It wasn't always easy. Southampton, relegated and playing for pride, made life difficult after the break, equalizing from a corner and threatening to spoil Arsenal's party. Yet, crucial contributions from Ben White, Kieran Tierney, and Gabriel Martinelli kept Arsenal in the game, while Ødegaard's introduction off the bench added the firepower needed to secure the win. David Raya's consistency in goal and the defensive solidity from unlikely sources ensured Arsenal never lost control.Ødegaard's winner was a moment to savor—a 25-yard rocket that capped a patient, probing performance. Tierney's farewell goal, Ben White's tireless work, and Martinelli's creativity were just as vital in driving Arsenal forward. These performances deserve real praise as Arsenal clinched second for the third year running and kept their standards high. There's so much to unpack: the squad's adaptability, standout displays, and the emotional swings that only Arsenal can deliver. Join me in this episode as I break down all the key moments, the top three performances, and what this win means for the Gunners' future. Don't miss it—this is Arsenal:  always compelling! Arsenal clawed back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with champions Liverpool at Anfield. This was about Arsenal's resilience, but their sluggish first half and defensive frailties nearly cost them dearly.Despite a disjointed start-deflated after their Champions League exit-Arsenal showed character after halftime. Martinelli's header sparked hope, and Merino's rebound finish leveled the score. Yet, defensive lapses and Merino's late red card left Arsenal hanging on, with Odegaard almost snatching a winner in stoppage time.Liverpool's early dominance and Gakpo's opener exposed Arsenal's back line, and Diaz's quick follow-up left the Gunners reeling. But Arsenal's fightback, even with ten men, halted Liverpool's celebrations and extended their unbeaten away run, though doubts linger over their top-five finish hopes. While Martinelli's sharpness and Merino's impact offered positives, Arsenal's inconsistency in big moments persists. Liverpool, meanwhile, saw a party atmosphere soured by a late disallowed goal. Now an even bigger challenge is upon as we could potentially lose 3 players in addition - Merino suspension and Trossard and Rice injury doubts. Let's say a prayer for this team and hope for the best. Hoping for some more good news…until then —Up The Arsenal!

Arsenal slumped to a dispiriting 2-1 defeat at home to Bournemouth, surrendering a precious lead that left the Emirates crowd in stunned silence. The  lack of  defensive grit saw them punished, as Bournemouth claimed their first-ever win at Arsenal. Quite unbelievable. Declan Rice marked his 100th appearance with a coolly taken goal. The first half, Arsenal carried on with positives that all hoped would ensure a positive end to the match. But then second half unraveled for Arsenal. Bournemouth equalized and minutes later, Evanilson bundled home the second goal  completing their turnaround victory. Arsenal pressed for an equalizer, but their attacks fizzled out mainly with little fight displayed.Declan Rice was a rare bright spot, capping a tireless display in midfield. But Arsenal's attacking rhythm faltered, and defensive lapses proved costly. The team's confidence visibly drained after conceding, and by the final whistle, many already turned their thoughts to the looming Champions League semi-final second leg in Paris. This defeat stings-not just for the result, but for the manner in which Arsenal let control slip away. For now, though, it's all about one thing -  Wednesday awaits. C'mon Arsenal!

Arsenal's Premier League  suffered a disappointing blow as Crystal Palace snatched a late equalizer in a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Emirates. This was more about Arsenal winning games. But the Gunners' lackluster performance and defensive lapses overshadowed early promise, as Palace capitalized on crucial moments to stun the home crowd. After started brightly with a third-minute score, there was a less fire from their play. An unusual Arsenal in defending showed up.Despite moments of control, Arsenal's vulnerability resurfaced late in the game. A costly gift to Philippe Mateta silenced the home crowd. For Arsenal, the result extended a frustrating pattern of draws, with five in their last eight league matches undermining their title ambitions. While Trossard's sharpness in front of goal provided a bright spot, defensive errors—particularly William Saliba's errant pass leading to Mateta's goal—proved costly. The Gunners now turn their attention to a pivotal Champions League semifinal clash against Paris Saint-Germain, where greater defensive discipline will be paramount.Palace, meanwhile, demonstrated why they remain a dangerous opponent under Oliver Glasner, with Eze's technical quality and Mateta's opportunistic strike highlighting their attacking threat. The draw offered a timely confidence boost ahead of their Wembley showdown with Aston Villa. As the Emirates faithful digest another missed opportunity, it would only be for a short while. Now, the challenge shifts to Europe—where a season-defining test against PSG awaits.Arsenal's 13th league draw this season epitomizes their inconsistency in tight games. With Champions League semi-finals looming against PSG, Arteta must address defensive lapses to keep their European dreams alive. Time to pull their socks up! C'mon Arsenal.

Liverpool edge closer to title number two while sending Leicester packing back to the Championship. Arsenal grabs three points as Ipswich gasps for air, and both City and Forest take care of business. As for the final European spot? It's still up for grabs, but you'd think nobody actually wants it. Arsenal cruised to a 4-0 victory over Ipswich Town, delaying Liverpool's Premier League title charge with a ruthless display at Portman Road. The Gunners' attacking fluency and defensive composure underscored their dominance, capping a stellar week following their Champions League triumph over Real Madrid.  Ipswich briefly threatened when Enciso miscued a chance early on, but Arsenal capitalized swiftly. A blistering counter-attack led by Martin Ødegaard and Bukayo Saka culminated in Leandro Trossard slotting home despite slipping, netting Arsenal's 100th goal of the season. Gabriel Martinelli then tapped in his 50th Arsenal goal after Mikel Merino's clever flick from Saka's cross, exposing the gulf in class. Ipswich's hopes evaporated when Leif Davis was sent off for a reckless foul on Saka, reducing Ipswich to 10 men before halftime. Arsenal's control intensified after the break, with Trossard adding a second via a low finish. Teenager Ethan Nwaneri sealed the rout late on, his deflected strike compounding Ipswich's misery. Standout Performances included Trossard's brace anchored by Mikel Merino's intelligence and a few other dominant performances. Arsenal's defensive discipline and rapid transitions overwhelmed Ipswich - made it a comfortable watch. Great team win. We go for another…pushing on! C'mon Arsenal!

Arsenal had another frustrating 1-1 draw against Brentford at the Emirates. Coming off the high of their midweek Champions League triumph over Real Madrid, Mikel Arteta's men struggled to replicate that intensity, albeit heavily rotated squad. The first half was an acceptable affair, but Arsenal unable to break down Brentford's organized defense. Kieran Tierney thought he had opened the scoring, but was  offside. The Gunners looked sharper after halftime, and Thomas Partey broke the deadlock in the 61st minute finishing off a swift counterattack orchestrated by Declan Rice, who continued his excellent form. However, Brentford responded just 13 minutes later; capitalized on a defensive lapse, hooking in an equalizer that stole our joy. Despite late pressure from Arsenal, including a near-miss from Bukayo Saka and a deflected cross from Gabriel Martinelli, we couldn't find a winner.Arteta's decision to rest key players like Bukayo Saka and Martin Ødegaard initially seemed justified rightfully so. Even after introducing his stars in the second half, the Gunners couldn't regain control. This game was a lot of individual brilliance, team resilience and a lot of endurance with 10 men. We turn our attention to what really matters now. There's still a lot to be proud of this team. Listen and share. Onward, Gunners!
