Send us a textOn this week's episode of On The Porch, we're hanging out with Canadian country artist Melissa Livingstone, and let's just say—this conversation is as fun as it is heartwarming.Melissa joins us from Nashville, but her roots run deep in the small town of Ucluelet, BC (which she kindly teaches us how to pronounce). Geography isn't exactly our strong suit, but we get there... eventually. We chat about her journey from coastal Canada to the heart of country music, her early influences—including her mom teaching her to play piano—and the moment she knew music was the path she had to follow.RELATED: Melissa is one of our artists to watch for this year. See the rest of the list ...Melissa shares her hard-earned wisdom from playing in the bars on Broadway, and gives honest, helpful advice for anyone thinking about making the big move to Nashville. Spoiler: it's okay to not go out every single night—rest is part of the grind, too.We also dive into her catalogue of music, doing a little vibe check on how each release reflected where she was at in life and in her artistry. Whether you're a fan of Canadian country, dreaming of Nashville, or just here for some good porch talk—this episode has a little something for everyone. We're so excited to bring back Season 4 of On The Porch with Front Porch Music. Canadian country act Runaway Angel is BACK and thrilled to have recently released their new single “Beach Please” on all streaming platforms & Canadian country radio via RÊVE MUSIC/The Orchard.  Co-written in Nashville with Kate Linné Malone and produced by Adam Newcomb, “Beach Please” is the tenth anniversary single from the trio of Cadence Grace, Ann Chaplin, and Stacey Zegers.  Cadence says, “We were ready to write a fun ‘beach' song. When Kate played us this cool beat and bass line, we loved it and Ann jokingly said, ‘Beach Please'. It stuck, so we started piecing together a vision and it led to a track that we feel will make people laugh, smile, sing and dance.” “Beach Please” is a poignant milestone as the group's first new music since Grace's leukemia diagnosis in 2018. Following a courageous journey – which included a personal blog, a life-saving bone marrow transplant, receiving the Extraordinary CML Story Award at the 2019 Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Network Conference, and earning the Country Music Association of Ontario's Holly and Steve Kassay Generous Spirit Award – Grace and her fellow Angels have emerged stronger and closer with a renewed purpose and a bolder emphasis on authenticity. Launched in 2013, the Ontario-based Runaway Angel caught fire as 2016 CCMA Discovery Artist nominees, later earning them 7 CMA Ontario nominations across two albums – “No End in Sight” and “Zero”, which both reached the iTunes Canadian Country Top 5 – and singles like “Witness”, a Top 50 Canadian radio hit that earned 150K Spotify streams. Beyond playing festivals like Boots and Hearts and The Havelock Jamboree, the group has also toured across Canada and Europe.

This episode is brought to you by: GRUBBED Since launching his career in early 2020, Justin Fancy, who hails from Conception Bay South, Newfoundland, has quickly become one to watch on the Canadian Country Music scene. Masterfully combining classic country songwriting with his own take on today's country sound, Justin's music is both fresh and familiar. After releasing two stand-alone singles in early 2020, Justin released his debut album, Sure Beats a Good Time, which became the catalyst for Justin winning Music Newfoundland's 2020 Country Artist of the Year and Rising Star of the Year. It was the first time in the history of the awards that the same artist has won both categories in the same year. Most recently, Justin was crowned the 2022 ECMA's Fan's Choice Entertainer of the Year and had three nominations in total at this years awards, including Solo Artist of The Year and Country Recording of The Year. In June 2021, Justin's single “Makes Me Wanna” was chosen as Rogers One to Watch, propelling the single to #42 on the Billboard Canadian Radio charts. In addition, the single secured the #1 spot on Sirius XM Canada's CBC Country chart and held the position for three consecutive weeks. His latest single “Better Than You” also just hit #1 for two consecutive weeks on the same chart. In October 2021, Justin became the first-ever Canadian Country Artist to be invited by The Recording Academy to take part of their Press Play at Home concert series on Grammy.com (watch it here). Fancy's debut album, Sure Beats A Good Time, debuted in the No. 3 position on Apple's iTunes Canadian Country music chart. The record would go on to rack up more than a half-million streams across major streaming platforms. In addition to his single “Makes Me Wanna” peaking at #42 on the Billboard radio charts and being played at over 70 radio stations across Canada.
