He's dropped 100+ pounds (from 330 pounds) but he did it in an even more unconventional than anyone-Okung said this week that he lost the majority of his weight by fasting for 40 days (!!!!). Woo buddy. How about that. Tyrell Williams had his best game of the year. He came down with contested catches. He made plays that we all hope he makes. It wasn't just him. Melvin Gordon was a monster. Desmond King had three huge plays. The team was rolling. In the game recap, I go down the line and talk about how the team played their most complete game of the year. You know how you eliminate putting the onus on your special teams? You score touchdowns. Nobody is talking about missed field goals this morning because the kicker kicked five extra points as opposed to five field goals. Spoke about some of the defensive substitutions as well and how that really helped the Chargers get off of the field. I probably sound like a broken record but the team is at their best when they have all their defensive backs on the field. They fly around. They make plays. I liked how the Chargers came out of the gate reminding us that Russell Okung makes a difference. Back to back runs behind him went for 16 yards apiece. I know Myles Garrett got the best of Okung a couple times but Garrett does that. The team needs Okung. Titans on deck. Should make it four in a row with the way the Chargers are playing. Go team! http://sportskrunch.com/ Hello again everybody, and welcome back to Sports Krunch with DKrom. The NFL’s “legal tampering window” is now officially opened, creating the beginning of what will be a WILD next 48 hours in the National Football League as free agency and the 2017 league year officially began Thursday afternoon. And to break down all the latest scoops before the witching hour is our good friend, NFL insider Jake Marsing of 5280 Sports Network in Denver. Welcome back Jake!!!!! 1. What is the latest you’re hearing on the Tony Romo situation?? Do you expect him to be released on Thursday?? Where do you see him ending up?? 2. How you see the RB market shaping out, particularly AP (Raiders or Seahawks), LeGarrette Blount, and Jamaal Charles, Eddie Lacy, Latavius Murray?? When do you expect the first of those dominoes to fall?? Which teams can 3. Answer the same basic question about the OL market (Whitworth, Okung, Fluker, Wagner, Zeitler, Lang, Leary, Clady) 3. The guys come to you this week after watching running backs and offensive lineman run at the combine. Adam has one observation that he wants to share with everyone as a result: "I love Lamp." Pete Carroll said a whole lot of nothing, but does emphasize the importance of the running game in his press conference. John Schneider had several interesting thoughts to share with reporters in his addition to the approach he's taking to deliver a consistent championship caliber team. The guys take their initial look at free agents the Seahawks may be interested in by talking about offensive lineman. With Breno and Okung available in free agency is it time to get the band back together again? Or should the team look at several other free agents who are expected to be available this week? Richard Sherman was back in the news this week and the guys wonder if ESPN and the media are out to get Sherman. Based on what was in his interview with Cari Champion, it sounds as though Sherman and Champion were talking about different incidents. Yet, a produced piece inserted before the question makes it sound as though Sherman has a much different version of what happened in his confrontation with a Seattle reporter. It's that time of year for Sea Hawker of the Year nominations and Adam thinks he should be a shoe in candidate. We say thanks to our latest new reviewers in iTunes and take a call commenting on our thoughts from the previous show. The K&P Show returns with a mid-week edition talking two of the more bizarre stories in the sporting world this week: Russell Okung's horrendously awful, non guaranteed contract with the Denver Broncos and Dwight Howard's use of stick-um in a basketball game. We discuss first Okung's desire to act as his own agent and whether this bad contract was simply him betting on himself or a lapse in judgement. On the topic of Howard, we ponder the competitive uses of stick-um in basketball, why Dwight Howard is so dumb and whether he deserved to be punished.
