Episode 067: Red Pitch by Tyrell Williams Host: Douglas Schatz Guests: Tyrell Williams and Daniel Bailey Welcome to The Play Podcast where we explore the greatest new and classic plays. Each episode we choose a single play to talk about in depth with our expert guest. We'll discuss the play's origins, its themes, characters, structure and impact. For us the play is the thing. Tyrell William's award-winning, debut play Red Pitch is set on an inner-city fottball ptich in South London. It is a coming-of-age story, with teenage boys fighting to believe in their dreams, and to find a way up, and perhaps out, of their changing community. The play premiered at the Bush Theatre in London in February 2002, winning several awards, and is currently enjoying a sell-out revival at the Bush. The Autumn Windbags: The Best Las Vegas Raiders Podcast Ever!
Its a VERY special episode of the Autumn Windbags. In celebration of 5,000 subscribers, the guys decided to do a historical remembrance of every single draft pick and major acquisition of the Jon Gruden-Mike Mayock era. The Autumn Windbags: The Best Las Vegas Raiders Podcast Ever!
Davante Adams is a Las Vegas Raider! Derek Carr said he would buy Adams a car to get him on the team so what car should he get him? Davante Adams trade from the Green Bay Packers to the Raiders completely changed the wide receiver market in the NFL. Soto walks us through how the DeAndre Hopkins trade from the Houston Texans to the Arizona Cardinals led to Tyreek Hill leaving the Kansas City Chiefs. The Kansas City Chiefs have now lost Tyreek Hill, Tyrann Mathieu (FA), Jarran Reed, CB Charvarius Ward, Mike Remmers, Demarcus Robinson and others. With the team shedding players for cap space, the Windbags discuss if the dynasty is over in Kansas City. The Windbags looked at the ten biggest contracts given out in free agency during the Jon Gruden era. Trent Brown, Tyrell Williams, Lamarcus Joyner, Cory Littleton, Yannick Ngakoue, Carl Nassib, Nick Kwiatkoski, Tahir Whitehead, Marcus Mariota and Jordy Nelson. Gruden was a terrible talent evaluator. The Raiders haven't made any big splashes at offensive line so it looks like the starting line is Kolton Miller, Jon Simpson, Andre James, Denzell Good, Alex Leatherwood and Brandon Parker. It looks like Josh McDaniels and company didn't look at Tom Cable as a good coach and they can coach these guys up. Does Derek Carr have thin skin? He took to Twitter explaining why he blocks everyone. 0:00 Intro 1:00 Question of the Day 4:50 Davante Adams Changes the AFC West 20:25 Is the Chiefs Dynasty Falling Apart? 29:14 Jon Gruden SUCKED in Free Agency 41:09 The Offensive Line Philosophy 52:27 Derek Carr's Thin Skin 1:00:53 What Up, Windbags? 1. Lions fall to 0-5; lose rags for seasonThis morning on Stony and Jansen Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell was done crying, but he went on to elaborate on the Lions only good receiver. Tyrell Williams was concussed in week 1 and its been almost a full month. But it is unknown when he will be able to return to the field.Per The Detroit News-Lions coach Dan Campbell said in his weekly interview Tuesday on 97.1 WXYT-FM that Williams is not close to returning from the brain injury that has sidelined him the past four games.“That doesn't look good right now,” Campbell said when asked about Williams' availability for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. “I would say that's off in the distance for sure.”https://www.freep.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2021/10/12/detroit-lions-wr-tyrell-williams-still-dealing-concussion/6101219001/?utm_campaign=snd-autopilotDan Campbell is genuine. It's one of his most endearing qualities as head coach. There is no pretense about Campbell, no charade. What you see is who he is, and if you've followed the NFL long enough, you know for people in positions of power that isn't always the case. Campbell isn't the first NFL coach to get emotional at a postgame news conference, like he did after Sunday's heartbreaking 19-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. But the fact that he did, that he hurt so publicly for his players and a Detroit Lions organization that had a win wrenched from its grasp for the second time in three weeks, resonated in the locker room and with the fan base.2. Jon Gruden out as Raiders coachThe NFL Players Association said Tuesday that it plans to request that the NFL release the remainder of the 650,000 emails reviewed as part of the investigation into workplace misconduct with the Washington Football Team.Leaked emails from that investigation that showed Jon Gruden used racist, misogynistic and anti-gay language led to the Las Vegas Raiders coach's resignation Monday night."We have had communications with the league, and the NFLPA plans to request that the NFL release the rest of the emails," NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith told USA Today Sports in a phone interview.NFLPA spokesperson George Atallah confirmed to ESPN's Dan Graziano that the union planned to request the emails. An NFL spokesperson told USA Today that it had no plans to release those emails for confidentiality reasons.

Today we discuss ten things that would have to happen for the Chargers to become contenders from Daniel Popper, why it was good the Chargers didn't sign Tyrell Williams and if recently released guard Gabe Jackson could help the Chargers.Daniel Popper from the Athletic has come out with a blueprint for the Chargers to become contenders and we get into why communication and play calling will have to be much better in 2021 for the team. Some of the other things that have to go right for the Chargers in 2021 are staying healthy, fixing the offensive line and signing several key internal free agents. We break down how plausible it is for the Chargers to attain these goals and add one very important goal of our own.We also get why it was a good thing that the team didn't pursue their former wide receiver Tyrell Williams because of the production they have gotten from young players and why signing Gabe Jackson is something the Chargers absolutely need to consider.Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. Today's episode of Locked On Broncos previews what to watch for on Sunday when the Raiders come to town.Cody and Cameron discuss Drew Lock's comments about how much Von Miller has meant to him from the moment he became a Denver Bronco. Von Miller initiated a jersey exchange with Lock last Sunday after the Broncos 27-17 win over the Lions. Miller mentioned he believes Lock is the future of the Denver Broncos and wanted a jersey because he knows how much that jersey will be worth someday. This led Cody and Cameron to discuss the false narrative that many have spread out there that Von Miller is not a leader. For the keys to the game, Cody discusses the importance of the Broncos finding a way to get to Derek Carr regardless of Oakland's quick passing game and that the Broncos offense must capitalize in the red-zone against Oakland's 30th ranked red-one defense.Cody and Cameron also discuss their players to watch for #OAKvsDEN as Cody highlights Chris Harris Jr matching up against Tyrell Williams and how it will be critical for the secondary to avoid giving up big plays down the field unlike their first matchup against the Raiders. Cameron discusses why Jake Rodgers potentially getting the start at RT is something to keep an eye on considering Ja'Wuan James and Elijah Wilkinson's injuries. Learn more about your ad choices.
