Pastor Arthur Guice received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1980, while attending Elmhurst College, Elmhurst, IL. It was during this season in his life that Arthur sensed a call to ministry. As a result, he changed his major from Business Administration to Theology. On March 23, 2003, Arthur was installed as the Senior Pastor of Spirit of Liberty Church of God, Markham, IL. A few years after serving as Senior Pastor, Arthur faced personal tragedy as his lovely and devoted wife of nine years went home to be with the Lord after a very courageous and lengthy battle with cancer. By the grace of God, Pastor Guice continued to serve as the Senior Pastor of Spirit of Liberty of God in Markham, IL until retiring in February 2023.          Arthur also serves as the Great Lakes Regional Prayer coordinator for the Church of God, Cleveland Tennessee, and was ordained as a Bishop through the same ecclesiastical hierarchy.  He is the founder and President of Full of Glory Ministries, Inc., a teaching ministry committed to developing fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ as well as the Illinois State Coordinator for Cry Out America.  Art is a man who is deeply committed to fulfilling the “Great Commission” of our Lord Jesus Christ by making disciples of all nations. He has an anointing to teach and preach the Word of God with simplicity and with accuracy. He is a much sought-after speaker for conferences, seminars and workshops throughout the Chicago area and the nation.  In this podcast, Pastor Art shares how he believes Black History Month (February) is actually helpful for people of color to help them see more clearly that some of the things they have been taught about their identity by a less than godly culture are simply not true. And that, with God and the truth of His Word, they can become all that He wants them to be. Art also emphasized the importance of the Church in America to have the true spiritual unity that Jesus prayed about in John 17:20-23, and that, unless we move quickly toward genuine unity, God's judgment is close at hand.

Art Guice calls American Christians to courageously be salt and light in our dark world

Pastor Arthur Guice received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1980, while attending Elmhurst College, Elmhurst, IL. It was during this season in his life that Arthur sensed a call to ministry. As a result, he changed his major from Business Administration to Theology. In May of 1983 Pastor Guice received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Elmhurst College with a double major in Theology and Psychology.  On March 23, 2003, Arthur was installed as the Senior Pastor of Spirit of Liberty Church of God, Markham, IL. A few years after serving as Senior Pastor, Arthur faced personal tragedy as his lovely and devoted wife of nine years went home to be with the Lord after a very courageous and lengthy battle with breast cancer. Art is a man who is deeply committed to fulfilling the “Great Commission” of our Lord Jesus Christ by making disciples of the nations. He has an anointing to teach and preach the Word of God with simplicity and with accuracy. He is a much sought-after speaker for conferences, seminars and workshops throughout the Chicago area and the nation.  In this podcast, Pastor Art shares his personal testimony of coming to faith in college and his call to ministry. He then challenges us American Christians to be the salt and light God calls us to be in our increasingly dark and secular culture. While we are on the ultimate winning team, we often live as though we are not. We Christ-followers need to repent of our cowardliness and lack of unity and choose, by God's power, to live courageously and lovingly all for His glory and the building of His eternal Kingdom.

Welcome to our LDI special. In our LDI series we will be speaking to some of the people who will be speaking or exhibiting at this year's LDI show running from November 14 - 20 at the Las Vegas Convention centre. Today our guest is Maya Guice, the Marketing Director for BRC Imagination Arts. Maya has a unique set of skills that qualify her for one of the most challenging tasks at BRC: telling the story of a company that tells the stories of some of the most renowned brands, subjects, and places around the world. As Marketing Director, Maya oversees all brand, communication, and marketing-related activities. This requires that she sit at the intersection of teams and people, using research and analytics to inform strategy, problem-solve, and either build bridges or reinforce them. A Los Angeles native, Maya has lived and worked in London and Berlin. Before joining BRC, Maya consulted creative and design agencies on their business development and growth strategies. Maya received an M.B.A. from the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University and her B.A. from Scripps College. Maya danced professionally for over 18 years, the highlight of which was an experience touring Africa as a Cultural Ambassador with the U.S. Department of State. In this episode, we'll hear from Amie Guice, a Certified Eating Disorders Registered Dietitian, owner of Guice Nutrition Counseling and mom of two young sons. Amie shares her story of when her five-year-old son was assigned a worrisome nutrition assignment in preschool and what she did as a result. We discuss: Amie's story of the assignment her son received and how it later influenced his food choices. The value of cultivating a positive food and body environment for our kids.  The importance of children being able to trust that the food their parents provide is an appropriate and good choice. How classroom assignments about health vs. unhealthy for preschool aged children can lead to children developing disordered thinking about food. What parents can do if their children receive a similar assignment in school. Ways to proactively work with your school to support educators in assigning positive assignments related to food. How educators certainly aren't out to sabotage our kids' relationships with food, it's just that there's a lot of misinformation on this topic. How to "fake it till you make it" in helping your kids develop a positive relationship with food if you're still unsure about your own relationship with food.  Visuals associated with this episode: Amie's son's assignment  Diana's daughter's assignment Resources mentioned in this episode: Usborne books about food Dani Lebovitz's books about food Follow Amie:  Instagram: @guicenutritioncounseling Follow Diana: Instagram: @baby.steps.dietitian Visit Diana's website to learn more about her counseling services: (https://dianakrice.com/) Join The Messy Intersection Podcast Community on Facebook: (https://www.facebook.com/groups/messyintersectionpodcast)

In this light and funny episode of the BDDS I was lucky enough to catch up with Tim McCoy before the holidays and talk about life growing up in the music scene of Long Beach California. We also talked about diving, food, music, and money! We drank some "Jin and Guice" a delicious 8.0% ABV hazy IPA from Steady Brewing in Long Beach, CA. With so much drama in the LBC, it's kinda hard bein LB D-i-ver, but I somehow someway, keep coming up with funky casts like every other week! J/K Stay true, stay real, stay salty! Enjoy!
