The SEC has officially drawn a line in the sand on the growing NFL-to-college eligibility madness. After an initial 16-0 vote, SEC presidents formally approved penalties 15-0 with LSU abstaining, establishing consequences for programs and coaches who put former NFL players on active college rosters. We break down what the new rules mean, LSU's decision not to vote, and where this increasingly bizarre fight between college football, the courts and eligibility rules goes next.Plus, Thomas Castellanos is headed to Texas Tech after stops at UCF, Boston College and Florida State, ESPN is getting rid of the BottomLine ticker during college football games, and the NFL and NFLPA introduce new discipline for repeated violations. We also get into the Commanders suddenly selling merchandise featuring their abandoned name and logo.Live Show Tuesday and Thursday, 3pm est.SOCIALS: https://linktr.ee/drewberquistWEBSITE: https://AirItOutBro.com #DrewBerquist #Balls&Banter #BallsShow Notes/Links:In the formal SEC presidents vote today to confirm the penalties in the legislation involving banning of NFL players, there ended up being a 15-0 vote. What does it really take to be a sports agent in the modern era of NIL, the transfer portal, revenue sharing, and constantly changing college football? On this episode of The Gametime Guru, Shane Larson sits down with longtime professional sports agent Brian Levy, Founder and CEO of Goal Line Football. Brian has been an NFLPA-certified agent since 1990 and has spent more than three decades representing players and coaches while watching the business of football completely transform. From NFL contracts and coaching negotiations to NIL agreements involving athletes who are still in high school, Brian provides an inside look at what athlete representation really looks like in 2026. We discuss how Brian unexpectedly became a football agent after a chance encounter at a sneaker store, why relationships became the foundation of his entire career, and why honesty and loyalty still matter in an increasingly transactional sports industry. We also dive deep into the modern college football landscape, including: How NIL has changed the role of a sports agent The impact of the transfer portal and revenue sharing What high school athletes should consider before choosing a college Why young athletes need to understand taxes, LLCs, saving, and investing How parents can prepare themselves for NIL negotiations and recruiting The dangers of inexperienced people negotiating deals for athletes Why Brian believes the obsession with building an athlete's "personal brand" is often overhyped What actually creates a valuable brand for an athlete Why NFL organizations continue to make mistakes when hiring head coaches Why being a great coordinator doesn't automatically make someone a great head coach The story behind Mike Tomlin getting his opportunity with the Pittsburgh Steelers Why relationships, trust, honesty, and loyalty have defined Brian's career Brian also shares some powerful perspective from more than 35 years in the sports business, including why he doesn't measure success simply by money or the number of clients he represents. For Brian, success is about the relationships he has built and the impact people have had on one another along the way. If you're a high school athlete, college athlete, parent, coach, sports agent, athletic administrator, sports business professional, or college football fan, this conversation provides a fascinating look behind the curtain at the rapidly changing business of football. Two Growls One Roar: A Carolina Panthers Podcast

Training camp doesn't wait for anybody, and Days 3 and 4 at Bank of America Stadium gave us a little bit of everything — a genuine gut-punch injury, a roster move that changes the pass-rush math, and one of the best "welcome to the building" stories you'll hear from a new Panther. On this episode of Keep Pounding Podcast, we break down every bit of it.We start with the hardest part of the show: Nic Scourton tearing his ACL in practice. Head coach Dave Canales didn't sugarcoat it, calling it a "horrible loss" for a rookie who was already building himself into a leader in that outside linebacker room. We walk through what Canales said about the team's reaction, what the timeline looks like for surgery and rehab, and why the NFLPA has actually requested to review the practice film. We also get into the ripple effects — Rob Hunt and Michael Jackson both dealing with back tightness, Will Lee and Chris Tabor Jr. on the watch list, and what it means for a defense that Canales says has been "pretty dominant" through the first two days of camp. From there we pivot to the response: the offense bouncing back hard in the rain, capping a competitive Day 4 with a two-minute drill touchdown drive against the number-one defense. Bryce Young spreading the ball to Xavier Legette, Tetairoa McMillan, and Trevor Coker looked like a quarterback in complete command of the install, and we get into why Canales keeps pointing to "the meu factor" — reps on task with these receivers dating back to the offseason — as the reason for it.Speaking of Legette, he's our Play of the Day. A touchdown grab in the back of the end zone, a contested deep ball down the sideline against Robert Rochell — this is a receiver who flashed as a rookie, got a little buried in the numbers last year behind McMillan's Offensive Rookie of the Year campaign, and looks like he's ready to make some noise in a genuinely deep receiver room.We also spend real time on the personnel move that matters most right now: Cam Gill signing back with the team after a strong UFL season and notching a sack in his very first practice back. With Scourton out, that outside linebacker room just got a lot more interesting — Princely Umanmielen being asked to become a complete every-down player, Pat Jones bringing rush versatility off last year's back injury, and a rotation of familiar faces in Travis Gibson and Thomas Incoom that the staff already trusts. That leads into one of the best segments of the show — Pat Jones' comeback story. A herniated disc, a broken-off piece of it pressing on a nerve, a season nearly lost, and a version of Jones who came out of it, in his own words, "the strongest I've ever been." He gets emotional talking about the teammates who got him through it, and he's already turned around and used that same experience to talk Nic Scourton through what's ahead. If you only watch one clip from this episode, make it this one.We round things out with a feature on Devin Lloyd, who's stepping into a Panthers middle linebacker lineage that runs through Luke Kuechly, Thomas Davis, and Sam Mills — and actually set up a film session with Kuechly himself to get ready for it. Plus a full rundown of the five position battles we're watching closest heading into pads on Tuesday: outside linebacker, safety, wide receiver, running back, and the right side of the offensive line.Subscribe for the rest of camp coverage, drop a comment on who you think steps up in the rush rotation with Scourton out, and hit the bell so you don't miss the pads-on reaction video dropping later this week. This heat is the WORST! I guess you could say it's going to cool off tomorrow with a high of just 87°, but I'm done with Summer. Let's get those crispy nights & chilly mornings going already. Jean's on vacation this week in Boston with her family, but I've got plenty of stuff to do this week with a big show on Friday at the Oktoberfest grounds…and a major concert announcement tomorrow morning. Speaking of this Friday's Megadeth & Obituary show at the Festgrounds, we talked to the legendary Dave Mustaine on Friday and ran that interview this morning. In the news today, a deadly shooting at a food festival in Seattle, a recall on a fabric dresser sold at Walmart, a deadly attack on a Pride celebration in Berlin, the latest on the shooting in Madison last week, and an update on the bio-hacker dude. The Brew Crew got a stellar start from the Miz yesterday and crushed the Rockies, Todd Gilliland may have won the $1 million in-season NASCAR tournament…but Corey Heim won the race yesterday, Tony Romo got popped for DUI over the weekend, and Lebron is heading to Philly to join the 76ers. Talked about what's on TV & streaming today/tonight…and recapped some of the highlights from this past weekend's Comic-Con in San Diego. Punch the Monkey just celebrated his first birthday and appears to be doing much better…and a dog that went missing over the 4th of July has been found & returned to his owners. A recent survey asked Americans if "flirting" with an A.I. program counts as cheating on your significant other…and about 1/4 of people think it does. Elsewhere in sports, the baseball HOF got some new inductees this weekend, Jacoby Brissett gets a nice contract extension, the 49ers head coach was involved in a pretty serious accident recently, John Tortarella is looking to coach again, and the NFLPA is investigating the Panthers after a player got seriously injured on the very first day of training camp! And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a #FloridaMan who broke into a neighbor's house and made himself a margarita, a #FloridaWoman who stabbed her friend with a pair of scissors, a guy who got stuck inside of a gas station sign for several hours, a couple of guys who parachuted off the space needle in Seattle, and a woman on a Carnival cruise ship that was scratching her feet with a fork.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The NFL is the most profitable sports league on the planet. Thirty-two franchises. Billions in revenue. Owners worth tens of billions of dollars individually. And they won't put grass in their stadiums. This isn't a new conversation. It's just one that never gets loud enough. Nick Bosa tore his ACL on turf. Davante Adams. Deebo Samuel. The list of players who have gone down on artificial surfaces and never fully come back is long, it's painful, and it's completely preventable. The NFLPA has been fighting this battle for years. Players vote turf among their top safety concerns every single season.
