Det började som en vild idé när två Bajenfans fick veta att fotbollslegenden Lennart Nacka Skoglund en gång, 1960, spelat en match i Borrby. - Vi gör en staty, sa konstnären Richard Andersson. Och så blev det. För ett år sedan invigdes den. Efter stora protester. Den lilla byn Borrby på Österlen delades i två läger. De för och de emot statyn. Nu står ändå fotbollslegenden staty vid fotbollsplanen i byn. En del älskar den. Andra inte. Statyn har mötts av motstånd och hejarop, av både ilska och kärlek. Av tillresta Bajenfans som hängt klubbhalsduk om den och av vandalisering, när någon täckte hela statyn med svart tejp. Åsikterna går isär. – Varför står den här, han har väl inget med Borrby att göra? –  Den står monument över när stora världen, i form av Nacka och det brasilianska laget Fluminense kom till byn. –  Ska man hedra nån med staty i Borrby, då finns det andra som är värda äran. I dokumentären möter du både upprörda Borrbybor och Ulf Andersson, regissör från Halmstad som tillsammans med konstnären Richard Andersson fick idén. Du hör också Jan Ohlsson, sportchef på Ystads Allehanda – en av de hårdaste kritikerna. Och så får du bläddra i klippböckerna med Torsten Persson och Sven Erlandsson, två av de lokala fotbollslegenderna som var med, då 1960 – när Nacka Skoglund och det brasilianska laget Fluminense kom till byn. En dokumentär om att klacka enkronor i bröstfickan, om Stockholmare och bofasta, om publikens jubel och den där outgrundliga kärleken till fotboll. Dokumentären är gjord av Linda Evereus, reporter och programledare på Sveriges Radio Kristianstad.
