Whoa! That's a lot of Shmi! In this episode, Becca and Devon sit-down to discuss the Women in the galaxy far, far away. Women, in Star Wars, are like bookends. In other words, they support those around them, keeping the other characters upright and on the right path. One example of this analogy is Anakin Skywalker. Shmi is a bookend to keeping the chosen one inline and Padme' is the other pillar that keeps him in check. So, one might say, the women in his life were the bookends to his self-consciousness. That said, you strap yourselves in for this extra extra episode of Kanata's Castle! Women in the Galaxy far, far away are such an integral part of the Star Wars saga. So, to honor them and their roles in the Star Wars universe, Becca and Devon are ready to pay tribute by discussing as many women characters as they can, starting with Shmi Skywalker. As they work their way through the saga, they will be looking at character arcs and support systems by the women in the galaxy far, far away. In essence, highlighting the importance of bookend roles and how that characteristic enhances other characters and the storyline as well. Disney Streaming to launch 2019 with Jon/Filoni shows as the headliners. When asked about this specific topic on Twitter, Luke actor Mark Hamill suggested it as a possibility and noted that there are decades of unexplored space on the Star Wars timeline to fit in that type of story. The Smugglers Three are back on the Holonets. This week we are joined by John Tyler Christopher and Steven from Roqoo Depot for a roundtable style discussion of Star Wars Rebels. What did we like? What didn’t we like? And what do we remember from the 4 season history of the show.
So, the dust has settled on Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The initial reactions, both good, bad, and somewhere in between have somewhat simmered down. Well, to a degree. And so, Kanata's Castle is ready to look closer at Star Wars: The Last Jedi. In this episode, Becca, and Devon put their best foot forward and look closer at Rian Johnson's imprint on the Star Wars franchise. Like Rose, they look closer at the themes and tropes of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Less Than 12 Parsecs - The Fastest Star Wars Podcast In The Galaxy!
Less Than 12 Parsecs - The Fastest Star Wars Podcast In The Galaxy - #0049 - Special Guest: Stephen from RooQoo Depot Not to long ago I discovered a great website that is jammed packed with Star Wars, Sci-Fi and Fantasy news, reviews, editorials and interviews. That site is Roqoo Depot. Roqoo Depot also provides a great weekly recap and review of many Star Wars podcasts. LT12P has been lucky enough to be on the list a few times. And that got me wondering, who is doing all of this great work? Turns out it's a gentleman by the name of Stephen, who goes by the screen name Skuldren. I reached out to him and invited him on the show. He graciously agreed to come on, and this is our five minute conversation! And I just want to give a big thank you to Stephen for his patience. Eagle-eyed listeners will notice that this is listed as Episode 49. But I have already released Episodes 50 & 51. Well, due to a technical glitch while recording, I did not capture the last 40 seconds of our discussion. Stephen was extremely kind and patient and came back on the show a few days later to answer that one last question. Thanks Stephen! Oh, and yes, of course I made him sit through the 10 Stoopid questions. Look for that episode tomorrow! And one last thing, I am trying to track down Mike Schweg, bh1138 and Dexter Jettster. These are the screen names of three people who left me reviews on iTunes or Stitcher, and who won prizes in our recent giveaway. Please email me at TwelveParsecsPodcast@gmail.com so I can get your prizes into your hands! Thanks! RoQoo Depot Links... The guys were reviewed by website Roqoo Depot! It was a very...not spectaular review. The Geeks review their review and then move on to a rousing discussion of the board games of their past.
