If you want to experience the in studio effect please watch on our youtube channel @forgivenfelon In this episode we begin with Jay Dan and Jessa doing the announcements and talking about different subjects. We also tell some more jokes. Then Jay Dan talks with fellow Steeler fan, Erick Wilson, from JTC X-Change. JTC stands for Join The Conversation and it began a long time ago with just having conversations that matter with people. We highlight some of his prison trips including the Gib Lewis trip. He also talks about why he calls the men Kings and not inmates. Through these conversations, mentoring, feeding the community, prison ministry and more was birthed. We discuss it all and we poke fun of the Cowboys a little too. This is: EU policymakers reach an agreement on the AI Act, published by tlevin on December 15, 2023 on LessWrong. On December 8, EU policymakers announced an agreement on the AI Act. This post aims to briefly explain the context and implications for the governance of global catastrophic risks from advanced AI. My portfolio on Open Philanthropy's AI Governance and Policy Team includes EU matters (among other jurisdictions), but I am not an expert on EU policy or politics and could be getting some things in this post wrong, so please feel free to correct it or add more context or opinions in the comments! If you have useful skills, networks, or other resources that you might like to direct toward an impactful implementation of the AI Act, you can indicate your interest in doing so via this short Google form. Context The AI Act has been in the works since 2018, and for the last ~8 months, it has been in the "trilogue" stage. The EU Commission, which is roughly analogous to the executive branch (White House or 10 Downing Street), drafted the bill; then, the European Parliament (analogous to the U.S. House of Representatives, with population-proportional membership from each country) and the Council of the EU (analogous to the U.S. conference committees in the US Congress). In my understanding, AI policy folks who are worried about catastrophic risk were hoping that the Act would include regulations on all sufficiently capable GPAI (general-purpose AI) systems, with no exemptions for open-source models (at least for the most important regulations from a safety perspective), and ideally additional restrictions on "very capable foundation models" (those above a certain compute threshold), an idea floated by some negotiators in October. threat assessments/dangerous capabilities evaluations and cybersecurity measures, with a lot of the details to be figured out later by that Office and by standard-setting bodies like CEN-CENELEC's JTC-21. GPAI regulations appeared in danger of being excluded after Mistral, Aleph Alpha, and the national governments of France, Germany, and Italy objected to what they perceived as regulatory overreach and threatened to derail the Act in November. There was also some reporting that the Act would totally exempt open-source models from regulation. What's in it? Sabrina Küspert, an AI policy expert working at the EU Commission, summarized the results on some of these questions in a thread on X: The agreement does indeed include regulations on "general-purpose AI," or GPAI. There does appear to be a version of the "very capable foundation models" idea in the form of "GPAI models with systemic risks," which are based on capabilities and "reach," which I think means how widely deployed they are. It looks like GPAI models are presumed to have these capabilities if they're trained on 10^25 FLOP, which is one order of magnitude smaller than the October 30 Biden executive order's cutoff for reporting requirements (and which would probably include GPT-4 and maybe Gemini, but no other current models as far as I know). Küspert also says "no exemptions," which I interpret to mean "no exemptions to the systemic-risk rules for open-source systems." Other reporting suggests there are wide exemptions for open-source models, but the requirements kick back in if the models pose systemic risks. However, Yann LeCun is celebrating based on this part of a Washington Post article: "The legislation ultimately included restrictions for foundation models but gave broad exemptions to "open-source models," which are developed using code that's freely available for developers to alter for their own products and tools. The move could benefit open-source AI companies in Europe that lobbied against the law, including France's Mistral and Germany's Aleph Alpha, as well as Meta, which relea...

When was the last time you looked past someone's outer appearance or actions to build that person up? This is not the building up of what you think they should be, but the building that brings that person into their calling. Have you ever had an experience like what is described here? Let us look at some examples: The homeless person on the corner, have you ever gone past just handing them the few bucks in your console or handing them food you might have ran to grab super quick from the nearest fast-food joint? How about the prisoner in the jail down the street from you? Have you ever taken time to go minister in the jails, or offer your time to visit with them for the day, how about write them a letter just to lift them up? When was the last time you went to the local rehab to explain to an addict, they have value? Have you ever taken your time to build up the family of the prisoner, addict, or homeless person? Well, my friend you will learn more about how to help these ministries in this episode. The Wilsons, E and Lady J have had the ministry JTC, (Join the Conversation), for the last 12 years. This ministry is building up everyone they encounter. They have a prison ministry that includes going into jails to minister, letter ministry, and have connected with former inmates and their families. They are currently expanding their reach to include the homeless community. They have provided food, as well as other necessities for many in this ministry. Now you may ask how this impacts you…my friend you can not go another day without pouring into those in your community that need you most. We are all called to build up our fellow man, woman, and child, this is your call to service! Are you brave enough to answer that call?How to contact The Wilsons: https://www.jtconthemove.org/?fbclid=IwAR3tER2JDtlcjYdJbMg-2Wlz76ZAlw7NFcJfcBQt0LbLr7RWdCJLSN1eQ4c E.Wilson "The Inspirator" | Facebook E Wilson - YouTube E.Wilson (@IncJtc) / TwitterE Wilson (@erick_wils) • Instagram photos and videosHow to contact Coach Paul: https://www.facebook.com/coachpaulybarra https://www.instagram.com/coach.paulybarra/ https://linktr.ee/coachscorner To book a free session with me:https://calendly.com/setfreerecoverycoach/30min King's Men Ministry:www.setfreelife.net/thekingsmen

Since riding in a bike-a-thon at 8 years old to his current status of unofficial “Mayor of Cape Cod”, Jonathan Thompson has been a force in his community. From performing in a local R&B group as a teen to creating the popular social media show “JT Chronicles”, he has captured the hearts of Cape Cod residents and beyond.In the early 90's, after his performing career came to an end, Thompson decided to begin a new chapter and teamed up with lifelong friend, Tim Lus (who he met on that bike-a-thon ride as a kid) as well as others and began a journey which has provided entertainment in several forms to the community that he loves for over 25 years. Under the name Incognito Entertainment which was later changed to Ayboi Entertainment, the group produced hundreds of events including dances, concerts, tournaments and parties. Thompson and Lus created “The Real…” a local video show which included interviews and performances by major recording artists and other types of performers. “The Real…” brand was later expanded to include a radio show (The Real… Radio) and used a format similar to the video show.Over the next several years, JT continued to be involved in the production and promotion of events and services of all types including concerts, youth dances, theme parties, fundraisers, youth career days, tournaments, blood drives, event hosting and more.Two years ago, on the heels of his growing popularity and infectious personality, Thompson posted a video documenting an inconveniencing knee injury, the day of doctor's visits and the comedy of errors that followed. The single video created a refreshing take on his everyday life and JT's Chronicles was born. In the ensuing months he began creating a phenomenon that has grown to over 30,000 followers across multiple social media platforms. The daily series of video blogs include the “Morning Bus Ride with Bob”, many cameo appearances from members of the community (as well as an occasional celebrity), trivia, raffles and an overall message of positivity, usually with a twist of humor. Thompson opens almost every video entry with a “Good morning…. you are watching the Chronicles” and ends with an “I Love you”.He is now known as the go-to guy when the community needs a leader at a vigil or an MC for an event. When there are plans to hold a fundraiser, it's JT they always want (and need) involved. Recently, facing stiff competition and a 3 month long voting process he was named “Mayor of cape Cod” at the Art Westfall Foundation's Bartenders Ball.Whether it is a word of encouragement, a rally for prayers and support for local families experiencing hard times, promotion of local businesses or just to make his followers laugh, JT Chronicles is a uniquely crafted outlet by a man who has his finger on the pulse of the people. His followers comment frequently about how JT Chronicles helps them begin their day or makes them feel empowered. His live videos create a buzz and a refreshing way to break up the monotony of the work day for many. Overall, JTC provides a look into the life of a dedicated family man and friend who truly cares about his community and all people. “Somebody wiser than me once said that you should ‘never waste a good crisis,’ and it seems like this pandemic has been a crisis for many of us in the court world.” For 42 years and counting, Kevin Bowling has been serving the needs of justice administration and public service. Currently chairing the U.S. Department of Justice’s Global Advisory Committee, Kevin is now calling on his experience with the evolution of the court system to support next steps for the post-pandemic court. Speaking right into the heart of court administration, Kevin unearths all the relevant fruits of the component model, especially its role in sustaining a more inter-connected court and providing the opportunity to “plug-and-play” with various technologies that support the court’s adaption to a new normal, including litigant portals, jury management systems, and how to walk the fine line between access to justice and CJIS compliance. Understanding Hearing Loss 101 by Teresa Barnes, RN DESCRIPTIONCommunication is a two-way street. A listener and a talker. Dr. Geoffrey A. Smith, MD ENT retired from Sharp Hospital System in San Diego, California gives us this simple definition of hearing loss. "Deafness is the absence of hearing while impairment is the loss of some hearing." Many in the Deaf Culture have angry towards the wording of being called hearing impaired. The word impaired means that in this case an ear organ is broken, damaged or weakened. So, whether you are in the Deaf classification of hearing loss or have a mild, moderate, severe, or profound sense of hearing loss your broken ear organ is weakened or damaged to some degree. It has nothing to do with the person themselves. Helen Keller was a writer, lecturer, advocate, and college graduate who was deaf and blind as well. Marlee Matlin is a famous actress from "Children from the Lesser God" who is a keynote speaker, author, and very successful businesswoman. Rush Limbaugh has continued his career as a Radio Talk Host and Beethoven composed his Paino Concerto #5 as well as the Ninth Symphony when he was deaf. Those with hearing loss can do anything the hearing can do, but hear well. There are three categories of approach with the absence of hearing. - Some deaf choose to just use sign language - here in the USA it's called American Sign Language. -Oral Deaf is when they choose to use their voice. A method taught by the John Tracy Clinic in Los Angles. JTC.Org. -Bi-Bi is where ASL is used, plus the culture of the English language for better inclusion. The discussion goes on to explain what is needed for those that have mild, moderate, severe, or profound hearing loss. Tune in to hear why one should wear hearing aids if the diagnosis of hearing loss has been made. It's a Harvard Study. Plus, a new term of those of us that hear less. Even the Hear Less Group or the Hear'rifics that are Terrific to empower this down an underserved misunderstood group of people. http://bit.ly/hearcommunicationHOME https://amzn.to/30nsJUf youtube.com/c/TeresaBarnes

“ Screw the fear, this is what ive been waiting for my whole life, i cant let fear get in my way “ JTC Beats ( @jtcbeats ) Minneapolis based producer has been honing his craft for over 10 years now, Starting off on the drums at the age of 11. He liked the idea that the drums set the tempo and the beat that really carried the song. Growing up in a major city with no large label presence created an environment that if you want to make it in music, you'll have to do it on your own. Combine that with the harsh winters that force you indoors for many months of the year, you have the perfect situation that removes excuses for not putting in the work. Being naturally introverted, its easy for JTC to bury himself in the studio but he understands the importance of building relationships. Thats why he spends the first 1-2 hours in bed working on his social media before he starts his “work day” He has developed the philosophy of making at least one new beat a day. He doesn't expect everyone to lead to something but it helps develop the momentum required to keep moving and cultivates constancy. As he becomes more known he only works harder. Putting in 12-14 hour days for the last 5 years has started to pay off. He now has people coming to him which gives him the leverage. Working that much can create a bit of a creative block from time to time so to spark new creativity he travels to new areas and creates new experiences. It's the spookiest day of the year, TheAWFULoi, and your humble Sons of ThUNDEAD are back at it with a deep dive into our least canonical selection: the evangelizing comic book tracts of Jack T. Chick. Join us as we discuss the dubious, hateful, and distressingly widely read stories that are designed to drag you kicking and screaming into a very specific version of salvation on this, the Devil's Birthday. Haw haw haw! Topics of discussion: Halloween plans, Bible costumes, the EC/JTC horseshoe, an extended list of people and things Jack Chick thought were evil and/or caused by Catholicism, the Death Cookie, Dark Dungeons, The Little Princess, Boo, Spooky, a contractually obligated mention of "Witch's Invitation," The Trick, the secret Robert Kirkman DOESN'T want you to know, Falcon 7, this weird thing where JTC just straight up does not like the Baby Jesus, Forever Knight, Devil's Night, Blasphemous (the video game). Hymnal: "Chick Habit" by April March Offertory: Each person should do as they have decided in their heart, so if you enjoy the show, head to ko-fi.com/apocrypals, for the Apocrypals love a cheerful giver.

Pro-growth tax reform sets stage for investment boom. Everyone benefits. JTC: higher GDP pays for tax cuts. Most powerful growth factors.FIFO out. One need not be pro-child credit to be pro-child. Social engineering. High rates & big credit doesn't work. Front end of investment boom. Look at biz equipment. 3rd straight 3% quarter. Retail sales. Fed isn't tax cut enemy. No inflation. 3 more hikes in 2018? Why? Investigate investigators. FBI story spinning out of control. Clinton operatives running investigations. Insane. Trump-hating lawyer trying to pay women to come forward w/ new allegations. Sell to media. Take commissions. Incredible tale of reckless partisan FBI Strzoka and girlfriend. Bitcoin boom? Regulations? Stocks too high? Global growth and liquidity. No inflation. Big stock market week. Dollar & gold steady. McLaughlin poll warnings. Money Politics. Bannon dead. Defending Rubio.
Shock World Service 072: Constellation Swan by Chloe Frieda (Alien Jams) 22/11/17 London, United Kingdom http://www.shockworldservice.com 1. Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe & Ariel Kalma - Miracle Mile This whole album is amazing, a collaboration between Robert A. A. Lowe and Ariel Kalma called "We Know Each Other Now Somehow." It was released on RVNG in 2015. 2. Xordox - Diamonds This release came out this year on Editions Mego, a project helmed by JG Thirlwel with Noveller featured in three of the tracks. Shimmering synths morph into an intense horror soundtrack. 3. recsund - Hall of Waits This one is by my partner Clifford Sage, I also included a glimmer of this track at the very beginning of the mix, It's from his release Deadsounds V. 4. Charles Manier - Mesrop I have a few of Manier's records (an alias of Tadd Mullinix) and I always go back to them! Gritty, weird, EBM, industrial goodness, it's hard to pick one track from the record as there are so many great tracks to choose from. 5. Alek Stark - GC 4406 Alek Stark has an impressive discography, dating back to 2002, many of which I have yet to check out. This release on CPU is pretty solid, some beautiful electro here. 6. Reckonwrong - Morton This track is from Reckonwrong's release on Pinkman, it's a hard one to categorise. I love how this track unfolds, especially with the "I feel that my music is important" vocal sample. 7. Rings Around Saturn - Synchrotron Synthy perfection from this electro gem. 8. Jensen Interceptor- Carter's Green Factory Another one from the mighty Central Processing Unit, a Drexcyan beauty. 9. Dreams - Gut Bounce This one fits well amongst the Apron back-catalogue, with chugging acid lines and floating melodies. 10. Morphology - Darkstar (The Hacker Remix) This track is from a remix record with The Exaltics, JTC, Sync 24 and Deixis on the label Cultivated Electronics. Dark and brooding electro remix by the Hacker. 11. Echo 106 - From Brunnen to the Nile Euphoric electro, this is one of my favourites. 12. Wilted Woman - Heating Problem New record on Alien Jams :) 13. Terribilis - Alucarda Released on a Quantum Natives compilation "Seize the Means of Production," her set at the ICA this year was wonderful.
GOP House tax bill. Good on biz, not good on individual side. But enough for 3% + growth. Corp tax cuts will pay for themselves and then some. Minimal tax on US & foreign profits? Back door BAT? Hidden tax hike on rich? Pass-Through confusion. Maybe a B+ total grade. Must ignore JTC & CBO estimates. Productivity from capital formation is everything for growth & wages. Trump: tax cut passage gives GOP strong economic narrative Nov 2018. Andrew Jackson wins Battle of New Orleans & saves America. Brian Kilmeade new book. Jay Powell is weak Fed head appointment. Phillips curve. Won't rock boat w/ reforms. Trump tax cuts v. Fed wage inflation fears. Shouldn't Hillary get busted for DNC & uranium sale? End diversity lottery now. Jobs decent. Econ rising. No recession. Profits up. Stocks melt-up? Dem budget & taxes insanity. All tax the rich & single-payer health system.
On Saturday 10th September 2017, UK fans were very lucky to get the chance to meet JTC at ICE International Comics Expo held in Birmingham UK, on a very rare visit to Europe - possibly a once-in-a-lifetime trip! Axs the host of JTC's Spotlight Conversation Panel, I have to say it's been incredible to have the chance to spend time in the company of this amazing artist. And his family, too, who look like they've been having a whale of a time here in England! In this informal panel, we got into JTC's background, his start in the industry, his approach to his work and what drives him to produce such consistent and jaw dropping work. When he wasn't at the panel, he was glued to his table from the moment the doors opened to WAY beyond the actual close of the show, with no fan left wanting when it came to signatures or sketches. The dedication of the man cannot be understated. Hope you enjoy this recording of his panel...
Treasury Sec Steven Mnuchin leads way for pro-growth tax cuts w/ 3% growth paying for them. Reconciliation very flexible? Don't have to use CBO or JTC estimates. Is Admin coming together w/ House/Senate? Timetable? Year end? Banking reform? "Let this go" is not obstruction of justice. Not crime.Mueller's jurisdiction? Narrower than past. Why didn't Comey report memo to DoJ? How long? Advice to Trump? Confusion: what are they investigating? Sr. WH official person of interest. WH leaks! Nut job. Relieved Trump pressure. Stocks: buy the dip because tax cuts are coming? Profits? Econ outlook? Fed? Amazon near 1,000? 250% S&P is bull mkt not just a rally? Dollar-gold-oil? Dr. Rock Positano: "Dinner w/ DiMaggio: Memories of American Hero" Money & Politics: Can US get back to 3% growth? Most econs say no. But capital formation is key. Outlook for health & tax reform? Pence for Prez?
