En un regreso al concepto más clásico de sci-fi, el director hace crítica social utilizando una analogía del apartheid sudafricano, poniendo a los aliens en el lugar de las víctimas.  La trama no se queda sólo en esto y evoluciona a través de varios niveles que analizaremos en profundidad. Además, hacemos nuestro habitual repaso a todos los aspectos de la producción. En el último Detrás de la Claqueta de la temporada, hablaremos sobre la historia de los extraterrestres en el cine y os proponemos nuestro propio sistema de clasificación de las pelis de este género. Chris and Owen attempt to spice up the generic sci-fi dystopia of Elysium by inserting techno vampires and benevolent anarchists. Trust us, it's better this way. Elysium is written and directed by Neill Blomkamp and stars Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, and Sharlto Copley, the best thing to come out of South Africa since old vine Chenin Blanc.
