We premiere some fresh new music from dance music pioneer Detroits Filthiest, as they return to Casa Voyager with selection of jazzy, drum and bass, electro, bassy, ghetto type cuts. We premiere the first offering from the EP entitled ‘Perception Of Reality' which draws on 90's hip-hop nostalgia while intertwining vintage liquid drum and bass influences. Detroit's Filthiest went by many names in the past, DJ Nasty, Digitek, 313 Bass Mechanics were some of his aliases in the '90s. During this time he was part of a movement from Detroit that established ghettotech as a DJ-style as well as an electronic music genre. In 2015 he re-entered the game as Detroit's Filthiest and in 2017 he collaborated with Sinistarr on ‘Yo Speakerz. His ‘Honor Among Thieves EP' in 2018 provided yet another Detroit infused hit with ‘Funky Sperm' which amassed over 900,000 plays. Detroit's Filthiest's return to Casa Voyager encapsulates a multi-genre approach to an otherwise cohesive EP. ‘Accept No Substitute' follows his 2021 release for the label, ‘Imitated Never Duplicated'. Once again he fuses both jazzy and bassy D&B, Electro, Breaks and Ghettotech stylings like no other. Probably the ultimate Detroit's Filthiest record on Casa Voyager. ‘Perceptions Of Reality' leans on jittering breakbeats, cavernous bass, drifting pads, and synth-lines that reek of 90's west-coast nostalgia. Perception of Reality is soothing and comforting, and for one reason or another makes me want to buy a corvette, just so I could listen to this track with the roof down. Detroit's Filthiest at his finest. Episode 26 has arrived and for this show we speak to producer and DJ Jeremy Howard also known as @Sinistarr. Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, Sinistarr is known for his consistent and innovative production style. He is praised for his skilled and adventurous ear for defying genres not only within his tracks, but with his DJ sets too. Traversing elements of Footwork, Jungle and Techno, Sinistarr makes music that shatters dance floors with pure bass and infuses a broad range of tempo and vibes from half time to in-your-face dance-floor cuts. Sinistarr’s production career took off fast too. At the age of 22, the producer saw his first release on Peer Pressure Recordings, shortly after he got a call from Drum and Bass legend Fabio to release tracks off his legendary label Creative Source. Jeremy has also debuted tracks with Hospital Records and Metalheadz. On this episode, Shannon and Sinistarr chat about the music he’s been releasing in quarantine, his journey in the Drum ‘N Bass world, and Sinistarr shares his thoughts on the issue of racial disparity and historical smudging in music. The two also chat about his recent releases on Sherelle’s Hoover Sound imprint. In this episode, Sinistarr discusses finding inspiration and creatively priming your brain.Episode Title: "Capturing Human Emotion In Nightlife"About SinistarrJeremy Howard, aka Sinistarr, is truly one of the most interesting and exciting names to hit the underground dance music world this past decade. He has become known as an innovative and consistent producer and a skilled and adventurous DJ, and his sound isan authentic extension of his soul and the pure talent that Jeremy possesses, deftly exploring the soul of yesteryear with a modern context. He is equally at home writing emotive headphone music, or in-your-face dance-floor cuts.Jeremy began his movement deeply rooted in the world of Drum & Bass, having releases on legendary labels like Metalheadz Platinum, Renegade Hardware and Creative Source. He continued over the years to evolve his sound as his own prowess as a producer grew, eventually branching out into many different tempos, still maintaining his unique sound exploring the realms of Footwork, Jungle and Techno. SINISTARR (Exit Records, Metalheadz, Unchained / Detroit + Denver) Jeremy Howard, aka Sinistarr (@sinistarr), is truly one of the most interesting and exciting names to hit the underground dance music world this past decade. He has become known as an innovative and consistent producer and a skilled and adventurous DJ, and his sound is an authentic extension of his soul and the pure talent that Jeremy possesses, deftly exploring the soul of yesteryear with a modern context. Sinistarr's mix is a heavy retrospect of the "Autonomic" sound, a style of Drum & Bass that took over the scene inside and out over a decade ago. Helmed by DBridge & Instra:mental , this sound connected the dots between golden-era Drum & Bass, R&B, 80s and 90s soundscapes, Detroit Techno and Electro - an era which led to strength to strength vinyl releases and a heavily-lauded mix series.
