For the tenth episode of There Is No Planet Earth Stories, I'm joined by guest Alan Oldham representing stories from Detroit.ALAN OLDHAM has been called “Detroit's Renaissance Man,” equally as known for his art as for his music under the pseudonym DJ T-1000. The Detroit-born polymath, now living and working in Berlin, began his dual careers in the late 80s. First as the host of the “Fast Forward Program” on WDET FM 101.9, Detroit's first-ever radio show devoted exclusively to electronic music, and as a young indie comic artist, writing and drawing his own original creation, “Johnny Gambit” (predating the Marvel character). Oldham was later tapped by his childhood friend, Derrick May, to illustrate the label art for the now-classic records “Nude Photo” and “Beyond The Dance” on his fledgling Transmat label, and Detroit Techno history was made. Oldham was later hired by another childhood friend, Jeff Mills, to do freelance PR for the nascent Underground Resistance collective, writing press releases for the label. When Mills departed for a solo career, UR partner “Mad” Mike Banks tapped AO to replace him as DJ for their Australian Tour of 1992. The codename DJ T-1000 was adopted, and history was made once again. Jumpstart to infamy.Since then, as an international DJ, Oldham has spun all over the planet, as far afield as Tokyo, Manila, The Phillipines, and Shanghai. When he's not behind the decks at home clubs Tresor Berlin and RSO, on the road to places like Batumi, Georgia or Trapani, Italy, or in the studio making music for labels like RSPX/Rekids, BPitch Berlin, Suspected Music, Third Ear, Elypsia Records, or his own Pure Sonik Records label, he is making new paintings and organizing art openings showcasing his iconic works. Oldham has put on art happenings in Amsterdam, Paris, Barcelona, Berlin, Vienna, and Detroit, as well as his iconic techno artworks being on view in Paris, London and Dusseldorf, as part of its traveling “Electronic: From Kraftwerk to the Chemical Brothers” exhibit. The multi-talented Oldham has also made his artistic debut in Kobe, Japan in 2022 with the exhibit “Massive Dynamic” at the Nick Jerky Art Cafe. In 2024, Oldham was also honored by the Mayor and Detroit City Council with a “Spirit of Detroit” Award for his musical and artistic contributions to his hometown. And back in Berlin, as part of Love Parade founder Dr. Motte's Rave The Planet team, Oldham helped Berlin Techno to achieve UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status. Oldham's long-awaited EP as DJ T-1000 for Rekids sub-label RSPX is out now, as well as his new “Ask Me No Questions And I'll Tell You No Lies” EP on Pure Sonik Records, currently riding high on several Spotify techno charts including Mary Anne Hobbs' on BBC6. Giuseppe Scaccia also known as D-Leria, a sonic virtuoso in the studio and a chaos creator on the dancefloor, embarked on his DJ journey in 2001. Swiftly transitioning to studio production, he garnered international recognition in Hardcore and became a fixture at major festivals, particularly in the Netherlands. In 2014, he gave life to D-Leria, releasing a series of EPs that served as a canvas for his evolving musical style. This transformative period also saw him take on dual roles as an artist and manager at Delirio record label, where he curated a space for avant-garde talents with a focus on authentic live recording. Relocating to Berlin, Giuseppe immersed himself in new inspirations and devoted five years to meticulously crafting his debut album, 'Driving to Nowhere.' The result was a sonic masterpiece that quickly captivated the attention of electronic music luminaries, including Shifted, Donato Dozzy, Neel, Svreca, Rolando, and many more. D-Leria's artistic trajectory continued to ascend as he found a home in prestigious labels such as Avian, Semantica, Non Series, Aura Dinamica. He contributed to noteworthy compilations, showcasing his style finesse and leaving his mark with remixes, various EPs and collaborative projects. Over the past few years, D-Leria has taken the global stage by storm, venturing on active touring with debuts in historical and iconic clubs and festivals, reaching new continents, communities and audiences. This journey reached a zenith with the unveiling of his groundbreaking and revolutionary modular live set at a festival in HALL Tallinn in 2022. The reverberations of this innovative performance carried into his 2023 live tour, leaving an enduring impact on distinguished venues and festivals worldwide - from the legendary Tresor Berlin to the vibrant Khidi Tbilisi, to the eclectic Radion Amsterdam, to the liberating spirit at Freedom Festival in Medellin. The Bunker Podcast 229 comes from Berlin's Sarah Wreath, who takes you on a journey of intricate rhythms intertwine, leading you deeper into a mesmerizing labyrinth of sound. If listening, collection, and selection have been daily habits since her youth, the processes of production and devoted explorations into the ripples of sound became the most important aspects of her current practice. In her vision, there is no prevailing preference over the role of producer or DJ - no hierarchical distinction amongst the club's dancefloor, the acoustic hall or the healing sound bath. In the same perspective, both the creator and the careful selector of music & sound are entrusted with the power of touching the body-mind complexities of listeners and dancers with forceful acoustic messages. Starting off 2024, she made her debut at Tresor Berlin for her first contribution to Infrastructure New York, which also features her collaborative work with David Sumner aka Function, from the collective Sandwell District. "My aim with this mix was to take listeners on a journey—deep yet uplifting—reflecting my diverse taste in club music. It's like a rollercoaster ride of energy; sometimes we plunge into the depths, facing challenges, but consistently rediscovering our path to light and euphoria.” - Sarah Wreath Tracklist: Anthony Linell - Advanced Spiritual Evolution Stereometrix - Phone Number Otodojo - Suzumebachi Artefakt - Hypnosis Valentino Mora - Portal Rrose - Open Cell Applebim - Vansan Droneghost - Ember Alan Backdrop - Nemon Dasha Rush - Dream n68 Etapp Kyle - Polar Franklin De Costa - Poseidon ASC - Telomere TM404 - Rymdeko Luigi Tozzi - Aztlan (Refracted Remix) Slam - Infra GiGi FM - Amadamushies Anthony Linell - Path of Surrender

Oliver Rosemann is a DJ and producer from Leipzig, who has been active since the 90's. During this time, he has made his experience with timeless techno exactly in the time of its creation, which can be seen later in his productions and DJ Sets. In the Leipzig scene he played numerous live sets in the early 2000s, including at the 1040, one of the legendary clubs of the time. Increasingly, he began to show himself in public not only as a pure live act but also as a track producer. He oriented himself out of the local scene and tried to place his music directly internationally. With the collaboration with MasCon called "dualit" he had first big releases on labels like Earwiggle, CLR or Fith Wall Records and also international gigs e.g. in Antwerp. But after that his solo project should be in the foreground again. Oliver got his own EP on Sunil Sharpe's label Earwiggle. The "Pointing from the Moon EP" was released, which was the starting signal for numerous following releases. To date, there are close to 180 tracks and remixes, including 3 LPs, released on labels such as MindTrip, MORD Records, Warm Up Recordings, Pole Group, Stockholm LTD and many more. Another promising collaboration was to follow. Pfirter and Oliver started producing together in 2019 and presented their first joint 4 tracker “Alpha EP” in 2020 on MindTrip Music and it was a huge success. To date, the collaboration of the two includes several releases and B2B DJ Sets and there will be a few more. Oliver is also present on stage. Whether as a live act or as a DJ, he knows how to create a dark, driving, ecstatic atmosphere on dance floors. He has already proven this in clubs like Tresor Berlin, Distillery, Institut für Zukunft, About Blanc and also in other countries in Europe. Numerous podcasts recorded by him or live cuts from parties, which were released over the years by renowned crews such as "Reclaim Your City" or "Staub", show this. In 2021 he founded his own record label "Recorded Things", which he now runs together with Sebastian Rothermel. Also, here, his sound, which he produces or DJs, is formative and reflects what kind of techno he stands for. The latest release here is a new collaboration between Oliver and Alexander Kowalski! Today we premiere two tracks from Irish techno imprint, Awareness System. Pineal Navigation and Daniel Andréasson join up for a split EP on wax as the pairing deliver raw and minimalistic machine driven techno. Swedish producer Daniel Andréasson focuses on experimental sides of dance music and forward thinking techno productions. His textured approach to techno has caught the attention of some of the industries most prominent names including Aphex Twin and more. Daniel is a regular on the Stockholm club scene, and has also graced the infamous Tresor Berlin. Pineal Navigation, a.k.a. Niall Dunne, is a name that needs very little introduction within the Irish techno scene. Niall is widely known as one of the best techno DJs in Ireland, and has a pedigree for raw and driving machine driven techno. His journey first began when he won a DJ competition with Mixmag UK, giving him the opportunity to play at the renowned Dance Valley Festival, Amsterdam where he shared the stage with techno legend's such as Kevin Saunders, Derek May, and Chris Liebing. Since then, Niall has been DJ'ing in the biggest clubs in Dublin and is a regular feature in some of Ireland's biggest festivals, such as Life Festival, and Electric Picnic. Not satisfied with only expressing himself through Djing, Niall began experimenting with synthesizers and drum machines and began to immerse himself in music production. This process gave birth to the Pineal Navigation moniker which focused on capturing his productions through live jams in one take and keeping the energy of the process intact. When Dublin based DJ and producer Pineal Navigation set up Awareness System in 2020, he intended to use the label as an outlet for music, specifically Techno & Electro, that told an evocative story. As the world went into lockdown, Niall, aka Pineal Navigation, decided to hone in on a sound that produced a positive frequency and dismantle the negative energy that started to seep into everyday life. Two years on, the Dublin-based artist launches Awareness System with a split EP called ‘Combination 1'. Swedish producer Daniel Andréasson contributes two tracks to the release, adding another layer of intensity that aligns with the label's aesthetic. Andréasson is an artist who approaches music with a no-frills attitude, which inspired Niall to invite his long-time friend into the fold of Awareness System. On ‘Sensory Open', Pineal Navigation creates an eerie atmosphere with swirling synths and gnarly basslines — a response to the chaos unfolding in the modern world. Daniel Andréasson cranks up the pace on ‘Enable' with wonky drum patterns and distorted FX, veering into the darker textures of techno. The flip-side opens with Daniel Andréasson's ‘Money Is A Motivator' where he mutates bleeps and crackling percussion, luring the listener into a dystopian soundscape. Pineal Navigation closes the EP with ‘Off The Earth', a stomping blend of rumbling bass and stabby percussion. A potent club-orientated track to mark the first chapter in the story of Awareness System. In her aspiring career, beginning at age 16, Lindsey Herbert has continued to drift towards the trippier realms of techno, constantly honing her craft as a DJ and getting involved with the thriving scene in San Francisco. Fast-forward to 2022 and Lindsey has truly become a recognized name in her city and beyond, in large part thanks to her unique signature sets— true journeys that explore alternating soundscapes laced together by dark, deep and heavy textures, as well psychedelic elements and ethereal melodies; and now her ever-growing list of original productions as well. With tour dates that have brought her to international venues playing beside top name DJs, she is an artist to watch. Lindsey's hard work over the years has paid off, gaining her residencies with San Francisco's Robot Ears for six years, and more recently becoming the newest member of Direct to Earth in SF, as well as earning a spot on the roster of Berlin-based agency, Point Collective back in 2016. She has played coveted gigs in Detroit, Chicago, Athens, Istanbul, Mexico City and throughout Germany, as well as her debut in the legendary Tresor Berlin and Gate Club in Batumi, Georgia. Lindsey's debut in the production realm was in September 2018 with a remix of Martyn Päsch's track ‘Sacred' on KVLTÖ Records. Her debut solo EP was released in 2019 on LA-based label Ascetic Limited with a remix from Motionen. Her latest releases came out between late 2020-present and consisted of her single ‘Lucid' on NECHTO Records, ‘Dark Matter' on Planet X, ‘Vertigo' on Rave Code, ‘Until We Meet Again' + a remix of Gabriella Vergilov's ‘The Love Anthem' on Chicago's Northern Parallels, a remix of BRÄLLE's ‘Feathers for Bones' on Märked Amsterdam, a remix of Motion Symmetry's ‘Aquarius' on No Way Records + a remix of Kota Kira's ‘Candlelight' on Re:Mission Entertainment. Founder of KERING and DPBEATS, member of @dilatedpupilsnl, co-founder of @siena and @eshu-records, @ivanotetelepta is a busy, but laidback and humble G in this era. As being a former member of breakdance crews Ill Skill Squad, Come Correct and Rebelz On The Run (a division of Always Doing Hardcore Damage), Tetelepta's style was naturally shaped by his bboy background. This resulted in over 40+ releases on his name on high quality labels such as @fear-of-flying-recordings, Rue de Plaisance (@varoslavmusic), @tenderpark, @sol-asylum-records and many, many more. Festivals and clubs were aware of his music production and resulted in performance at clubs such as Doornroosje (Nijmegen), Arma 17 (Moscow), Rex Club and Concrete (Paris), Club der Visionaere and Tresor (Berlin), AgeHa (Tokyo), Embargo and Sky Garden (Bali), VIP (Crete) and performance at festivals such as 8Bahn N&D, Henk, Drift, Mysteryland (as ESHU) and BCB (Hungary) to name a few. While listening to his music production, you can feel his emotion, influence and background. For now he developed an interesting discography and gig CV, and will continue his journey. Be aware, stay up.! Stay Rave with #R13!

ALAN OLDHAM has been called “Detroit's Renaissance Man,” equally as known for his art as for his music under the pseudonym DJ T-1000. Oldham was later tapped by his childhood friend, Derrick May, to illustrate the label art for the record, “Nude Photo,” on the fledgling Transmat label, and Detroit Techno history was made. Oldham was later hired by another childhood friend, Jeff Mills, to do PR for the nascent Underground Resistance collective, writing press releases for the label. When Mills departed for a solo career, partner “Mad” Mike Banks tapped AO to replace him as DJ for their Australian Tour of 1992, and the codename DJ T-1000 was adopted. Jumpstart to infamy. Since then, as an international DJ, Oldham has spun all over the planet, as far afield as Manila, The Phillipines, and Shanghai, China. When he's not behind the decks at home clubs Tresor Berlin and Suicide Circus (Berlin), on the road or in the studio making music for BPitch Control, Suspected Music, Third Ear, Elypsia Records, or his own Pure Sonik Records label, he is making new paintings and organizing art openings showcasing his iconic works. Oldham has put on art happenings in Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, Vienna, and Detroit, as well as his works being currently on view at the Design Museum in London, as part of its “Electronic: From Kraftwerk to the Chemical Brothers” exhibit. On the graphic novel side, he has also worked on the Afrofuturist classic “The Book of Drexciya, Vol 1.” Oldham is keeping busy during the current pandemic, drawing and painting, doing commission work, online teaching for RAMP Academy, making new music and remixing with MASCHINE MK3 and ABLETON, and generally moving forward in one of the world's most creative cities, Berlin. In 2020, it’s 30 years of activism with passion. Electric Rescue is considered one of the made-in-France masterpieces of the electronic music but also a worldwide renowned artist. His hits are regularly played by electronic music masters like: Laurent Garnier, Len Faki, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Sven Väth, Slam or Luke Slater. Electric Rescue has been forging a strong specificity in the electronic landscape by defending a techno neither conceding nor creating compromises, similar in this aspect to his friend Laurent Garnier. His productions have been signed on labels like Cocoon, Affin, Arts, F Communications, Sleaze Records, .... Electric Rescue is also a famous name as live artist and DJ. Since more than two decades, he has been traveling the world preaching the techno good word with passion and modesty. He had the opportunity to play in mythic clubs such as [Berghain/Panorama Bar (Berlin), Tresor (Berlin), Weather Festival (France), The Edge (São Paulo), The Egg (London), Herr Zimmerman (Rotterdam) and many more. Considered as a discrete but efficient techno activist, Electric Rescue has been insuffling in his entire work the Rave values which he has been adopting, defending them and making them self-references (exchanging, sharing, brotherhood, freedom, underground culture) rejecting so the blinding DJ business spot lights. -- 073: Electric Rescue from Paris, France Electric Rescue @ SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/electricrescue Electric Rescue @ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/electricrescue

Julia Govor is a DJ, producer and the owner of record label Jujuka. Growing up in Russia’s military camps, her love for arts and music has always been a great travel companion and pushed her to shape her own career and life as a journalist and eventually as an international DJ. She played events and clubs from Klockworks to OUTPUT (NYC), Basement (NYC), Tresor (Berlin), Exit (Croatia) and she has shared the booth with the likes of Jeff Mills, Nastia, Stephanie Sykes, Tommy Four Seven and many other. In our conversation, we talk about living the lockdown, overcoming anxiety, learning not to judge others while we also go from her first experiences with music to her latest projects including sampling Villalobos. Aside from her existing projects, Julia is also working for her label Jujuka, to release and give a stage to aspiring artists from ethnic minorities worldwide. She is a force of nature with very clear principles and vision and her words also remind us that letting things go is a tool that we can use to become who we want to be and conquer our own freedom. -- Julia Govor -- www.instagram.com/juliagovor www.facebook.com/JuliaGovor soundcloud.com/juliagovor juliagovor.bandcamp.com/releases Le.blue (designer for first Jujuka vinyl 2018) www.instagram.com/le__blue “Villa Tone” (track with Villalobos sample) www.youtube.com/watch?v=veHqd0c7vjQ Zoo Energy (Antarktika band) - August 5th Kamran (Julia’s partner and fellow musician) https://www.instagram.com/kamran_sadeghi_official -- Home Of Sound -- Subscribe to our newsletter: bit.ly/HoS_Newsletter Subscribe on YouTube: bit.ly/HoSYoutubeSubscribe All latest links: https://linktr.ee/home_of_sound Adam Heaton X Home Of Sound artists playlists: https://www.adam-heaton.co.uk/playlists/

Alessandro Nero / @kindcrime-recordings https://www.facebook.com/AlessandroNeroXI With more than 10 years of releases with various aliases, including several albums, EPs and dozens of singles, Alessandro Nero is a morbid take on industrial techno, even if his sound is not really characterized by only a certain type of elements and therefore cannot be defined within a single subgenre, in fact it expresses itself through various forms, always remaining coherent and defining itself within the parameters of an industrial proposal, which movement is constantly evolving thanks to direct contamination with other related genres such as acid, ebm, hardcore and breakbeat, but also towards new reinterpretations and less direct influences of urban cultures such as metal and punk in their various facets, therefore both for a purely artistic and personal reason Alessandro Nero wants to project the idea of a futuristic global world that could live a socio-cultural epiphany through the understanding of all modern and effective styles to transmit something sensorially relevant and hence unifier. He has been remixed by artists like Scalameriya, Endlec, JoeFarr, Blush Response, D Carbone or Keepsakes and has great experience in clubs throughout Europe and South America, participating in 2016 in the 25 years of Tresor Berlin and performing in the vast majority of European countries such as England, Holland, France, Germany, Poland, Russia, Italy, Spain, Greece, Hungary and many others. At this point Alessandro Nero can undoubtedly be considered one of the most ruthless instigators of the Sith army. Alessandro has just recently released a 10 original mix album "Mythologies Of Violence in Postmodern Media" on his own label Kindcrime and 1 track in a solidarity VA on the italian Insane Industry. In the following weeks he is also releasing a track in a VA on Sticky Ground and in the following months an ebm techno album on X-IMG, SARIN's label, that will be composed by 7 original mix and 1 remix from Crystal Geometry. He is also working on the first album of 'From Science To Ritual' with singer Elen Payne, an industrial and experimental noise side project that will see the light at the end of this year. Larix – a DJ, producer and the owner of the Brainwash label. On the scene for more than a decade. He has already developed his own recognizable style. Drawing from industrial, dark and often broken sounds of techno, Larix's sets are dynamic, consistent and at the same time very surprising. He played on the most important events in Poland. Since 2016 the resident of one of the best Warsaw clubs Luzztro. He also had an opportunity to perform abroad, for example twice in Tresor Berlin - the cradle of techno. After several years of DJing he decided to learn how to produce his own music. His works were released among others by: ARTS, Leisure System, Sombra, Nashton Records, Counter Pulse, De-Konstrukt, Achromatiq, Phobiq and his own label Brainwash. In 2011, he took part in a competition for a remix of Plastikman, where he was recognized by Richie Hawtin and became one of the five finalists. His remix was issued under the M_nus label. In 2013 Larix created his own label called Brainwash where his own tracks are released on vinyls. The label is highly appreciated and the tracks are played by the most recognized DJ artists in the world.
Hello friends, it's time for ESOA podcast number 14 this week. The current situation is unfortunately not the best, but if we are all there for each other and treat each other respectfully and keep our distance, we will survive at some point. My little contribution is to send you some positive energy. For this show I invited Marcel Cousteau and did a mix, which he of course did without hesitation. Marcel originally from the small town of Freiberg now lives in Dresden. Growing up with the Neue Deutsche Welle and Kraftwerk, he was inspired by Chicago House and Detroit Techno at the age of 10. As a result, he became a DJ in 1999 and began to produce music in 2003. Releases by him can be found on well-known labels like Abstract, Inflicted, Naked Lunch or Crowbar. From then on, he now played at clubs and festivals throughout Germany and internationally, including Tresor - Berlin, U60311 - Frankfurt, Fabrik - Madrid and the Nature One Festival.
