This week we interviewed Jeremy Collins, the winner of Survivor Cambodia. Jeremy came into this season with two primary goals: protect himself with a multi-layered "meat shield" and keep the secret about Val's pregnancy. He implemented both to perfection and was rewarded with a unanimous, 10-0-0 win. This week we interviewed Spencer Bledsoe. He tied for second place during the finale of Survivor Cambodia. Spencer started the game in a controlling alliance, lost control of it after the first vote and then spent the majority of the rest of the game fighting his way back up from the bottom. He worked hard at improving his social game, and it paid off many times because his fate was often in the hands of others. We enjoyed watching Spencer adapt and eventually finagle his way to the finale. This week we interviewed Kimmi Kappenberg and Keith Nale. They left the game in sixth and fifth place during the finale of Survivor Cambodia. Kimmi did really well, improving her social game and besting her previous appearance on the show by more than twice as many days. Keith further cemented his reputation as one of the most well liked, hardest working castaways and a true challenge beast. Although we didn't always get to see it, Tasha significantly amped up her social game which got her all the way to the end. Wentworth, fought hard almost the entire game as an underdog. She was a challenge beast and will be remembered for delivering one of the most memorable blindsides in the history of the game. This week we interviewed Joe Anglim. He left the game in episode 12 of Survivor Cambodia. They called him Joey Amazing, and he lived up to that title with great performances in challenges, inventing things to make camp life more bearable, and even displayed major improvements in his social game too. He appeared invincible all the way to day 29, when he first stumbled but was spared. It all came crashing down on day 32 though, and the majority decided it was finally time for him to go. This week we interviewed Kelly Wiglesworth. She left the game in episode 9 of Survivor Cambodia. A sense of nostalgia, going back 15 years to the first season made voting Kelly back for a second chance a no brainer for many fans. Unfortunately, her style of game play combined with an injury made her almost invisible this season. In the end, her most dramatic moment came when she was blindsided. On the latest episode of the podcast, we go full dad on perhaps the best episode of Survivor: Cambodia thus far. Tragedy, comedy, strategy
This week we interviewed Woo Hwang. He left the game in episode 6 of Survivor Cambodia. Woo will be remembered for being a great competitor and for providing great reaction shots for the editors when caught off guard by a surprise at Tribal Council. It's almost fitting that he was taken out by a stealthy blindside and offered one last look at of one of his best "what just happened" faces. Listen to this interview to hear about what he did different to prepare this time, details on the injury that sidelined him on day one, his explanation for why he wasn't as clueless as portrayed and more! This week we interviewed Jeff Varner. He left the game in episode 4 of Survivor Cambodia. Varner gave this season an amazing start with tons of laughs, great strategic play, and one of the best narrators of the action that the game has ever had. He was entertaining, fun to cheer for, and we will miss his contribution to this season immensely. Tyler and Jenny talk about the third episode of SURVIVOR: CAMBODIA.
This week we interviewed Peih-Gee Law. She left the game in episode 3 of Survivor Cambodia. Peih-Gee's luck went from bad to worse. She was unfortunate enough to start on a tribe with Abi-Maria which triggered conflict right out of the gate. She took a turn for the worse when she was shuffled onto a tribe with no resources, her primary alliance fell apart, was still stuck with Abi, and eventually became her second victim. This week we interviewed Shirin Oskooi. She left the game in episode 2 of Survivor Cambodia. Life has a way of testing us and sometimes does it by flipping the script. One minute you're celebrating your victory by controlling the first blindside, and then you're following your target right out the door. Abi turned out to be a big test for Shirin, one that she unfortunately was not prepared for. Listen to this interview to hear how she felt about being selected by the fans, how she felt about Probst comparing her experience to Abi's, an update on the tribe's injuries and more! This week we interviewed Vytas Baskauskas. He left the game in episode 1 of Survivor Cambodia. Someone had to be first, but we definitley didn't expect it to be Vytas. His attempts to be more social appeared to backfire and drew the attention of the women who saw it as over the top and excessive. Hence, he became this season's first big blindside. Listen to this interview to hear how he prepared for his second chance, details on a significant injury we didn't get to see, a review of his tribemates and more! In our sixth ever 'preview episode', Ben is joined by his Ozlets to talk about their thoughts on the cast members as well as how they feel the 31st season of Survivor will turn out!
The "goat rodeo" was cancelled, and the ending brought a satisfying conclusion to a season that seemed at great risk only a couple weeks ago. This season got off to a good start, then there were certainly some rough spots in the middle that tested our resolve. Mike's "back against the wall", "come from behind", "against all odds" win, mixed in with some clever strategy right at the end made for an exciting conclusion that had many of us out of our seats and cheering each time he edged closer to the final tribal council. Thanks to everyone that contributed and made this season more insightful and enjoyable. You are an amazing community! Congratulations to Craig in Florida for winning JSFL this Season with 122 points! Even though he didn’t get the final 5 order correct, he did choose Mike as his USB24, which gave him the lead... Great job Craig. Congratulations to ColdMike for winning the high risk side challenge with a total of 103 points. Way to hang in there Mike. Nina finished with 85, Jeremiah with 84, Brandon A with 83, Jody with 77, Stacy with 63, James with 61, Jonathan with 59, Iron Dave with 50, and Aaron R. with 43. ColdMike has requested that Aaron perform a parody version of Sam Smith's "I'm Not the Only One" with lyrics focused on events from this season to pay his debt for coming in last. For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff, and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game. Twenty three fans shared their thoughts on the finale, reunion show as well as the cast of the next season. We want to thank and acknowledge everyone who contributed to another great show. This week we heard from: Barbara, MJ, Sarah and Marla, Emily, Ed, Jim, Samantha, Thomas, Drew, Maria, ColdMike, Rashmi, Ronda, Saundra, Jody, Alar, BrandonB, Jen, Josh, Jeremiah, James, and Paul.
