Born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium, Roel De Prins and Robbe Boons picked up the art of DJing and producing in the years following 2000, but it’s only since 2011 that they have worked together as Flapjackers.  Their sound transcends the genres of Funky, Jackin, Deep and Tech House, as well as Nu-Garage, and has seen them release numerous singles, remixes and EPs for renowned labels including Greenhouse Recordings, Great Lakes Audio, Coyote Cuts, Native Soul, Central Music Recordings and many more. Throughout their career they’ve received support from artists such as Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, DJ Sneak, Cricco Castelli, Jason Hodges and Tommy Largo, and many more.  A number of these artists have also played at their event held at Café D’Anvers in Antwerp. Flapjackers say that their Gangstercast represent all of the aspects that makes House music great. “It includes the old and the new, deeper vibes along with funky jackers. This mix basically represents what we try to achieve on the dancefloor every time; an energetic journey with a story. We wanted to present what we’re about on the dancefloor. We used a few newer tracks that makes us move, as well as showcase some true underground talent. Combined with a few classics, among which tracks from the House Gangster himself, and also an older jacking track from us, we tried to make this mix as varied as possible, all the while attempting to never forget the energy a good House mix can provide to the listener.” They’ve been House Gangsters for many years now and cite DJ Sneak as a huge influence: “We have been a big fan of DJ Sneak ever since we first started collecting House records back in the early years of 2000. For the final mix of 2013 a bit of an eclectic of tracks. I'll admit it was quite a challenge this month. Tough finding tracks I really liked and more importantly, tracks that would work well together into a cohesive mix. I think I ended up getting like 35 new tracks and left a bunch of them out because I just wasn't feeling them for this mix. This mix the Dutch artist has done for us, is 80 minutes of pure house music. Based out of Arnhem in the Netherlands, he has secured residencies across the country and has played all over the world. There was so much great music this year that I could have made a dozen Best of 2010's. I had over 150 tracks in my "Best Of" playlist. My Big 10 for 2010: Derek Dunbar (he could do no wrong this year - congrats) DJ Sneak (House's hardest worker) Funk Mediterraneo (Buy his tracks - he is GOOD) Giom (So consistant - his DJ sets are stellar too) Random Soul (man...Australia has a great looking scene) Sonny Fodera (Everything he's had a hand in this year exploded) Sound Diggers (So funky) Tommy Largo (and he keeps getting better) Vernon & DaCosta (challenging Sneak for that hardest working title) Wattie Green (Funkier than 3 day old sox) Chemars, Armbar, Acumen, Manuel Sahagun & Tuccillo had outstanding years as well. 2010 Was an interesting year for me - constant flux - ebbs & flows - ups & downs but I tried my best to keep music at the forefront. 2011 looks to be a pretty good year. New digs (hopefully neighbours like beats). The radio show is in full swing on myhouseyourhouse.net (every other Saturday from 9-11pm est) and I will be adding video very soon. Manjane was born in 1992 in Bela Crkva, Serbia. He started his career in 2007 with barely 15 years of age. First he became a resident DJ in a local undergrond club, playing jackin and deep house. A year later he started producing and caught the eye of the notorious Gramophonedzie, who invited him to join the Disko Zoo crew, and help running the record label. His first EP “Badger” gets positive feedback from DJs like Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, DJ Heather, Honey Dijon, Hector Moralez, … Later he releases music on labels like Guesthouse, Maracuja, Funk Mansion, and naturally Disko Zoo. During his short DJ career he had the honour to play with the likes of Gramophonedzie, DJ Mes, Tommy Largo, Soydan, and Combined.
