Seit meinem 16. Lebensjahr kenne ich Martin Bühlmann. Er war einige Jahrzehnte Leiter der Vineyard Bern und ebenso Leiter der Vineyard Bewegung im deutschsprachigen Raum. Heute ist er im Ruhestand und trotzdem so leidenschaftlich wie zuvor. Für die meisten Jahre meines Glaubenslebens war er mein Freund und Mentor. I can still remember how at 21, I sat on a beach in New Zealand reflecting on my life up until that point. I believed in God, Jesus and the Bible, but God wasn’t real to me - I couldn’t put my finger on a single incident where I’d experienced the reality of God in tangible ways. Thankfully, since then I’ve witnessed God in action and it’s changed my life. But I’ve also watched as others have lost their faith, particularly as they’ve moved from childhood into adulthood. How do we help people experience the reality of God? In this episode we’re talking with a man whose made it his life mission to make God real for people. Pastor Andrea di Meglio is a pastor, itinerant speaker and film-maker who oversees several ministries focussing on the supernatural in his hometown in Bern, Switzerland and beyond. Andrea and his team have made two life-changing documentaries about the reality of God. The first, Christ in You, depicts ordinary people experiencing signs and wonders and healing on the streets. The second, The Voice, looks at how to hear God’s voice for others, including those who don’t know God. How do I trust God that puts myself on the line? Maybe even with public scrutiny? Andrea was born into a volatile situation, with an abusive father who threatened to kill his mother multiple times. He and his mother fled and tried to start a new life when they were introduced to Jesus by a neighbor. After a supernatural intervention with Jesus, his mother was radically changed and soon after, Andrea responded to the promptings of God.His story and the other stories of how God is working in the world today (seen in his documentaries like “Christ in You”) will inspire and bring awe! On this podcast we had the privilege of getting to know Marius Bühlmann and the church he currently leads; Bern Vineyard in Switzerland. Marius shares his journey of growing up in the Vineyard and how the core values we share as an international movement have been the ones that have shaped the actions that Bern Vineyard has taken in order to tend to and nurture the community in Bern and to call his church to be a Kingdom witness within the cultural context in Europe. In particular, this has led his church to actively engage with the Syrian refugee crisis in Greece, beginning in 2016. Marius shares how God works and acts through us and the incredible outcomes that come from interactions rooted in love, compassion, and justice and comes against a pervasive culture of fear.
