The Disorderly Blondes Autism Podcast is a refreshing and informative podcast hosted by two South Florida autism moms, Kristi and Brenda. These moms offer an honest perspective on raising children with autism and provide valuable insights into the daily challenges they face. The variety of hosts and topics covered in each episode allows listeners to expand their knowledge of all things ASD.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is the sense of community that Kristi and Brenda have created. They have formed an amazing community of other autism moms who can learn from and relate to one another. This sense of camaraderie is evident in their conversations, making it feel like you're sitting with a group of girlfriends talking about your day-to-day lives. The hosts are talented, bright, and downright hilarious, which adds a fun element to every episode. Additionally, the once-a-year "Dads" interview provides a unique perspective from fathers in the autism community.
A downside to this podcast is that it primarily focuses on the perspectives of mothers, leaving out other voices within the autism community. While Kristi and Brenda do a fantastic job representing their own experiences as moms, it would be beneficial to hear from individuals with different roles or perspectives within the community.
In conclusion, The Disorderly Blondes Autism Podcast is an enjoyable and educational listen for parents and caretakers in the ASD community. The hosts bring a mix of laughter, tears, great conversation, and occasional adult beverages to each episode, creating a must-listen experience. Kristi and Brenda's realness, humor, and dedication to providing information make this podcast both entertaining and valuable for anyone wanting to learn more about autism.

Over our tanned bodies!MEET KRISTIBlessed with blonde wisps at birth (now maintained at a cost undisclosed to her husband), Kristi's mane role is mama to two additional golden-haired beauties- one who just so happens to have autism. Born in the 305, raised in the 954, and training boys to be men in the 561, Kristi has proven not even Dave Barry can chase her from a Florida state-of-mind. In her infinite amount of spare time (insert maniacal laugh) she pours what's left of her Vitamin D induced energy into Puzzle Peace Now, a non-profit she founded in 2009. Finally, Kristi splits her ends between enjoying quality days in the sun with husband Tim and basking in the glow of her 16-year friendship with bestie Brenda.MEET BRENDACuban born, Miami & Hialeah raised, and current Broward County resident (but still 305 all day), Brenda is Dylan (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and Oliver's (CHRNA7 duplication + Hypotonia + epilepsy + scoliosis) mami. In 2007, blogging about her life as a mom of two special needs kids as ASD QUEEN BEE was cheaper than therapy became a creative and therapeutic outlet. Six years later, she developed THE WHET PALETTE, a blog discussing her passion for food, wine, and travel. Brenda's journey also includes an extensive background in interior design and dance. The perfect next step? Podcasting! Her colorful palette wouldn't be complete without her husband Lawrence's support and endless belly-laughs with the other rubia, Kristi.Support the show

Autism advocate and comic lover Thomas A. McKean does not consider autism a superpower. Still, armed with his brilliant, open mind he pens a voice of reason amongst a universe of controversy. Thomas is “puzzled” by the epic autism battles other “advocates” choose. His story is a rare edition and his page-turning adventures prove the good advocates always win. Jill Escher is the president of the National Council on Severe Autism and has prepared a strong message for the world: every autism parent is in a state of panic, and the “unaffected,” should be too. Yes, could this mean you. “Severe” or “not-so-pretty” autism voices demand a place at the table, and no noisy, lame attempt to shame the advocates over semantics will “cancel” the grim statistics. Severe autism is coming for all of us, actually. It's time to listen.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/disorderlyblondes)
