#19 Choosing how to respond to a negative situation

Play Episode Listen Later May 15, 2022 11:58

How do you usually respond to negative situations? I recently got reminded that we always have a choice in how we respond (and not react) in these moments. This is true with events and with people in general. We can't control most of what happens in our lives, but we do have control in how we respond to it.  Once we overcome the initial resistance, we can have a smoother and more pleasant experience. What we focus on creates our reality. So, what kind of reality do you want to experience? I'm telling you more about this topic and my own experience in this new episode. Happy listening! Take care

    #18 Relationship red flags

Hello! In this new episode, and following episode 10 about my self-discovery journey, I'm sharing with you some relationship red flags based on my own experience. After a complicated 3-year relationship, meeting my current partner was a big revelation about what a healthy relationship looked like. I compare both to help you see the gap between a not-so-healthy relationship and a healthy one. The red flags I mentioned are based on my own experience and my past relationship only.  This list isn't exhaustive, but it can help you identify whether someone is good for you or not, be it a partner, a friend or a work colleague. I also share the lessons I learnt from this experience and why self-love is so important to me. If you'd like to know more about my journey, listen to episode 10.  Happy listening. Take care

Hello ! In this new episode, Elodie, who's a life coach just like me, introduces us to Nonviolent Communication, a tool she encountered many years ago when she was a teacher. It has changed the quality of her relationships with herself and others. Nonviolent communication is a tool that helps you connect with your needs and your emotions. It's also a beautiful way to create healthier relationships and connect with others. It reminds ourselves that we're just humans, doing the best we can to met our needs. Nothing less, nothing more. Elodie prompts me to take an example from my life to demonstrate how NVC works and I'm happy I did the 'good' mistakes so you can understand and relate to it even more. Happy listening! Take care

#14 Action cures fear: a mantra for building self-confidence

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 27, 2022 14:38

Are you fed up with being stuck in your life because of your fear? I've got what you need! In this episode, I'm sharing with you this phrase that I first read in 'The magic of thinking big', a book written by David J. Schwartz: Action cures fear. Since then, I've been using it as a mantra to prompt myself to take action and I've found it very powerful. Fear is often in our heads. The more time we spend time in our head, the less we act.  We are less confident to act because we're full of doubts, hesitations and made-up excuses for all the reasons why we shouldn't do what we want. I'm giving you some examples of little scary actions you could make. These are usually actions that can be done in less than 2 minutes, yet they have a big impact on your self-confidence. One of the main benefits of taking regular little scary actions is that it builds and strengthens our self-confidence.  Self-confidence is a muscle and like any muscle, it needs training. Imagine what your life would look like if you would take a little scary action every day. Happy listening. Take care

Combining spirituality and technology sounds crazy? Well, it does … at first. That's what Jean struggled with when she started her spiritual journey until she discovered that she could use both as tools and feel whole eventually. In the episode, Jean shares with us her own self-acceptance journey and an important message: to never give up and honor your mind, your body and your spirit in a holistic way. We also talk about abundance and what it really means, the monkey mind and spirituality of course ;) Halfway through the episode, the conversation shifted and Jean asked me questions about Holywhat? Holistic! and my own journey. It's another episode filled with kindness, humbleness and wisdom. Towards the end, Jean also shares her thoughts on how you can explore yourself.  Happy listening! Hello! In this new episode, I'm sharing with you why self-love is important, the benefits of it, and how you can start practicing it daily. Do you: Struggle to say 'no' even when you really want to say 'no'? Put others and their needs before yours? Apologize for being yourself (too much this, not enough that)? Think you're not good enough, wish you would be different? Can't remember the last time you did something for yourself? Have you answered 'yes' to one of the above statements? This episode is for you! Bonus point if you also believe that self-love is selfish! I truly believe that practicing self-love sets you free and is an essential ingredient to living a more fulfilled and happier life. Happy listening. Take care

#11 Change and life transition: the story of Ruth from @english_forchange

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 6, 2022 30:32

Hello! In this new episode, I welcome Ruth from @english_forchange, who is an entrepreneur teaching English to non-native people.  She shares with us her story; a story of change and transition and what she learnt from it. Ruth has lived in many countries, but when she moved to Belgium to get a new job, she got stuck. During a year and a half, she kept doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results. Does it sound familiar?  Ruth was stuck until she decided that it was enough, and the first lockdown has been the turning point forcing her to take back control of her life.  Change is scary and uncomfortable, but we should keep in mind that has positive and negative associations depending on how we decide to look at it.  It can be seen as a new adventure or a new challenge, but either way, it always has a life lesson, which gives us the opportunity to grow. Are you scared by change? Do you feel stuck? I hope Ruth's story will inspire you to move forward and trust the process along the way. Happy listening! Take care

Hello! In this new episode, I'm sharing with you how my self-discovery journey started. To be honest, recording this episode was a challenge: I wanted to share a part of my story without going into much detail and without blaming my ex-partner, because there is no one to blame. Looking back, I'm grateful for this episode of my life. It has helped me to reveal my strengths and to embrace what I used to consider my weaknesses: being kind, gentle, friendly, emotional and much more. This is also during this time of my life that I came accross positive psychology and personal development; and it changed my life!  I understood that I was the only person responsible for my own happiness. Something I had never considered before as I was exclusively relying on others to make me happy. Through this journey, I uncovered my dreams and desires, and took appropriate actions. As a result, I felt happier and more fulfilled with myself. This is why, from my personal experience, self-discovery and self-acceptance are essential elements to live a more serene and empowered life. Happy listening! Take care

#9 How knowing your chronotype and cycle can increase your productivity with Sarah from @zenlyorganized

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 20, 2022 52:31

Hello! In today's episode, I'm welcoming Sarah from @zenlyorganized. Sarah is a productivity coach who helps women entrepreneurs be more productive based on their chronotype and menstrual cycles. In this episode, Sarah explodes 3 myths about productivity to help us stop feeling like a failure, avoid burnout and adapt how we work based on our own rhythm and the energy available to us.  There is a strong belief that our productivity is linear, while it's not. Whether you're an entrepreneur or an employee, it's tempting to be always productive and doing doing doing.  We forget that resting is an important component too. Just like in nature, with the seasons or even with machines. We need to slow down and rest at times to recharge our battery and prepare for the next action phase. Everybody is different and everyone has their own rhythm. Whether you are an early bird or a night owl, your internal clock, your circadian rhythm, has an impact on your sleep pattern, your eating habits, and even, your productivity.  There are 4 different chronotypes (bear, wolf, lion and dolphin) and knowing which category you fall under can help you adapt your schedule to improve your productivity in a way that it flows and that is natural to you. For example, if you've tried the Miracle Morning method (which consists of waking up one hour earlier to get things done) and it didn't work for you, this doesn't mean that you're a failure. It just means that you're not a morning person! The same goes for the menstrual cycle. Each phase gives us certain energy to either do things or rest. Both are necessary and go hand in hand.  Once we know ourselves and accept what works best for us, we stop forcing things, but most importantly: we stop feeling inadequate and accept who we are; accept how we function. And that's quite liberating! That being said, nobody is standard and you can choose what works for you.  In the end, it's about adapting the method to ourselves rather than adapting ourselves to the method.  Happy listening! Take care

Hello! Do you feel overwhelmed? Stressed out? And don't know where to start to bring back balance into your life? You may have heard that 'balance is everything' or even that 'it's all about balance' and that's very true. I do believe that when we are balanced we can live a more fulfilled and serene life. However, your own definition of balance is probably different from mine, and that's okay. That's why in this episode, I'll introduce you to a life-coaching tool that I love using with my clients: the wheel of life. It's a tool that is perfect to assess every single area of your life; where you are and how satisfied you are. Once it's in front of your eyes: 1. It may not look as bad as it seems. 2. You may find out what the priority is; the one little thing that would have ripple effects on other life areas of your life. Through this episode, I share some guiding questions to help you get started hoping you'll gain some clarity about your current situation and give you some keys or ideas to start bringing balance back into your life. Some people get a tattoo to forget about their past, others get one to reconnect to their body, while some use it to enhance a body part they already like about themselves. From ornamenting our body to covering any type of marks, tattoo is much more than an art; it can be therapeutic! As the discussion flows, we also talk about our shared humanity, complexes and self-criticism. We also explore the idea that focusing on what we do like about ourselves, rather than on our flaws, can be a way to be more gentle with ourselves. It's another episode filled with wisdom, compassion and kindness towards ourselves but also towards others. Hello! Do you also struggle to receive a gift, a compliment or a service?  In the episode, I explore our ability, or lack thereof, to receive from others. Referring to the 5 love languages of Gary Chapman, our difficulty to receive from others may be a difficulty to receive love in general.  We've been taught that we should first give in order to receive, but who has taught us to just receive? Is how we receive the reflection of our self-worth? Do we turn down gifts or compliments because we don't feel like we deserve them? Where does this come from? Education, culture, self-esteem? Let's just explore together how we react when someone offers us something. Towards the end of the episode, I challenge you to be more open to receiving as a way to cultivate ... your self-love :) Happy listening! Take care

    #1 Perfectly imperfect (Introduction)

Play Episode Listen Later Oct 30, 2021 12:32

Hello! In this first episode, I give you an introduction to the concept of this podcast, explore the reasons why imperfection is actually a good thing and give you a tip to help you accept more who you are. This first episode is far from being perfect but it makes the perfect example for this podcast's topic. Why should we focus on what we don't like about ourselves, while we could focus on what we do like about ourselves?  I invite you to highlight what you are good at and build upon it. It's a matter of perception and choice. We can embrace who we are and what we are good at. This doesn't mean that we should deny or ignore our weaknesses, this only means that we can give them less importance and focus on what truly matters. Happy listening! Take care
