You’re listening to the Journal Hijabi Podcast, hosted by me, Sereen Qader. If you’re new here, Journal Hijabi is a space where women can come together to talk, listen, and learn through shared experiences. Because I believe everyone has a story to tell and resource to share. Like a journal, we each have our own entries that make up our stories. Each Hijabi is an entry, serving to a journal, called Journal Hijabi. Tune in to learn more about the women who wear the Hijab. If you could take one second to leave an honest review it would mean so much! Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/journalhijabi/support
The Journal Hijabi podcast is a truly enlightening and empowering series that offers a fresh perspective on the hijab and its significance in the lives of Muslim women. As a listener, I thoroughly enjoyed every episode as it provided me with new insights and understanding about the hijab and its role in empowering women.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is its ability to showcase diverse stories and experiences of real hijabis. Each episode delves into personal accounts, challenges, and triumphs, allowing listeners to connect on a deeper level with these individuals. The stories shared are authentic, relatable, and inspiring, providing a platform for unheard voices and shedding light on the strength and resilience of Muslim women.
Furthermore, The Journal Hijabi hosts do an excellent job of facilitating meaningful conversations with their guests. They ask thought-provoking questions that delve beyond surface-level discussions, allowing for a more profound exploration of topics related to identity, faith, empowerment, and cultural traditions. This approach brings depth to each episode and encourages listeners to challenge their own preconceived notions or biases.
However, one potential drawback of this podcast is that it may not cater to everyone's interests or experiences. Those who are not familiar with or interested in learning about the hijab or Islam may find it less engaging. Additionally, some episodes might benefit from a bit more structure or editing to ensure smoother transitions between topics. Nonetheless, these minor criticisms do not detract from the overall quality of the podcast.
In conclusion, The Journal Hijabi podcast is an exceptional series that offers valuable insights into the experiences of hijabis and their journey towards empowerment through the hijab. It successfully challenges stereotypes and provides a platform for real stories that deserve to be heard. Whether you are already familiar with hijabi culture or looking to expand your knowledge on this subject matter, I highly recommend giving this podcast a listen.

you might have listened to ayah in our last episode of season 1, "hijab is tough love", well in season 2 we complete that conversation and speak about how hijab feels like in high school + stories & ways to effectively respond to people who ask about your hijab. The way you first wear the hijab, shapes your whole journey of it. High school was the first time wearing it for me, as well as many other hijabis. It can be quite frightening as a young girl just trying to make her way to class but feel like everyones staring & waiting to ask questions. It often feels like being the elephant in the room. This episode is centered around the topic of feeling confident in your hijab through your evolution. Ayah describes the relationship with her hijab as “tough love” and I thought that is such an honest way to put it. Hijabis that choose to wear the hijab love it, but of course it can be difficult at times. Ayah (@ayahkawsara) is studying graphic design and has an interest in getting her private pilot license for aviation. She started a makeup business at 14 years old and after 5 years is now a makeup artist local to DFW with over 20,000 followers. - Journal Hijabi's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/journalhijabi/ - Hosted and created by @sereenqader⠀⠀ - Guests Instagram: @ayahkawsara - Ayah's Makeup Page: @amkglam_ - Email for Inquiries: journalhijabi@gmail.com⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Thank you guys for tuning in and spending time to listen to this episode. Welcome to a new series called the hijab in history. The history of the hijab has been a topic on my mind for a while and I really wanted to take some time to research and truly explore the history of the hijab. In my research I found over 40,000 peer reviewed journals discussing topics about the hijab and its history. So I decided to start a series of mini chapters where I will read from an article that I summarized and discuss with you guys the hijab in history. And today we will be beginning with ch.1. Millions of muslim women wear the hijab daily in public. So it is important and crucial to understand the history of women who wore the hijab and how it originated and evolved throughout the years. Not only that, but knowing the history behind the hijab that you wear daily will strengthen your bond with it and make you even more confident once you wear it the next day because you'll understand it more. It really is an interesting topic once you go into depth about it. With over 30k followers, she serves as an inspiration to young girls who are looking into wearing the hijab and finding their own style. I loved chatting with Razan about her first memory of the hijab and sharing advice to young muslim girls.
