Compulsions can be physical or mental. Compulsions are anything that is done to immediately remove the anxiety, doubt, physical discomfort, or uncertainty that comes from obsessions. The only way to break the obsessive-compulsive cycle is to practice uncertainty and discomfort. Back with not only a mental health update but to acknowledge May being Mental Health Awareness month. Mental health is one of the most stigmatized health issues that humans face across the world. The only way to destigmatize anything is to talk about it. This month is important so people feel heard and not alone and to spark important conversations. So everyone can learn more about mental health. People need to know about how to help in certain situations. Some people are just not good for our well being. The word toxic is more than a description it’s the truth. The wrong people are like a poison you inject in your body. True self-care involves balancing two seemingly opposing ideals- radical self-compassion and accountability. To fully take care of yourself is to understand that the nature of life is to shift. When you give up being perfect, you allow yourself the grace to change, grow and start again as many times as you need. Sometimes self-care looks like staying home, minding your business, telling people no, and doing you. Self-care is more than manis, pedis, and massages. It is also working on your habits, mindset, and healing your past. It is removing toxic thoughts, people, and places in your life. It is living intentionally, purposefully, and consciously.
