This week's episode is the final installment in our little ADHD mini-series, we wrap up this topic by talking about my struggles with self-trust and fears of falling backwards into bad habits as I get more comfortable on medication, we end the episode talking about the fears and stigmas around becoming dependant, on medications but also in general. The episode ends with a reminder that humans are communal creatures and we are meant to rely on things to support us. Our communities, our food, and our water, so why should certain medications be treated any differently?A quick note, about halfway through the episode I start talking about an app I found that I really love, and I just want to put a disclaimer that this episode is not sponsored in any way, I'm just really obsessed with this app. This episode discusses:Fear of backslidingWays I'm rebuilding my self trustSubstance & DependanceYOU CAN CHANGE YOUR MINDNHP is an evolution of The Unbound Podcast, and if you miss Unbound feel free to re-listen to old episodes because change is a part of the human experience. If you enjoyed this episode, please consider leaving a review.Or you can connect with me online by followingMy TikTokMy InstagramMusic by Purple PlanetSupport the show

This week I share about redecorating the office space, crying over couches and the magic of computers. But most importantly we talk about my inner asshole getting louder over the last week, and how instead of listening to it, this time I reached out to someone and asked for critique. Opening ourselves up to feedback, especially when it's something you're invested in and care a lot about is incredibly uncomfortable. Something that is incredibly on-brand for them and also very overwhelming for everyone in their life around them. In this week's episode of the Unbound Podcast, an incredibly hormonal Kaela shares a story from work in which they had to regulate themselves and a three-year-old in public while random strangers butted in repeatedly with their opinions and advice. Kaela shares the conclusion they have come to, which is that this world is not set up to help children grow into adults with healthy nervous systems. Biggest takeaways: - Don't give random parents and caregivers unsolicited advice!!! - It's OK to have big feelings, and it's even OK for those feelings to show up in public (even if it's a bit embarrassing. - This healing work is so f*cking important, especially if you want to have, or do have, children. It is up to us to heal our sh*t so we can better support our small humans. - It is perfectly OK to not have all of the answers, I am not the same person I was a year ago and neither are you. What do we do when things are going well, but we are terrified that if we relax and enjoy it, something terrible will happen? This week has been a little slice of heaven in my life and it's been hard for me to share online, because I have lived with a constant terror and distrust of good experiences. After 6 years in my spiritual journey, I've found myself asking how I got here, so this week I share with you a little bit of how this internal conversation goes in my head. It's important to remember that being a spiritual or non spiritual person doesn't make you better than anyone else, that meditation is never going to be a miracle cure for your anxiety & depression and that no amount of prayer or spiritual connection is going to grant you 100% control over everything in your life. So all of this begs the question, what's the point? I don't have all the answers, no one does really. But I hope this episode sheds some light for you about what the spiritual journey is all about and why it's so valuable. This week I share about the struggles & challenges of entrepreneurship and being a multipassionate human. As someone who has always had a lot of desires pulling me a lot of different directions, this journey hasn't been one that has worked start - to - finish. But rather back and forth. As I get better at tuning into my inner guidance system I realize that the keys and clues have always been there, I've just been too distracted to see them. As children and teenagers, we wait for this lightbulb moment of "oh, I feel like a grown up, now." A moment that likely, never comes. Instead we spend much of our time feeling a bit like we are playing pretend.I spent most of my early 20's binge drinking, eating food that didn't feel good, rolling out of bed 10 minutes before work and running out the door just in time for work. In the last two years I've spent a lot of my time working to getting my life together, and figuring out how to be an adult. This weeks episode is part 1 of a 2 part series where Kaela shares her experiences with predators and grooming. She explains why her experiences on the internet as a young person with a very active and engaged parent have shown her there is no way for the Internet to be a safe space for children. Starting on twitter as young as 12 years old, Kaela experienced grooming and predatory behavior from strangers regularly well into her late teens, including sending and receiving mature content, engaging in 'sexting' and sharing personal information with multiple strangers despite being taught better. This is not an observation or critique of anybody's parenting, including her own Mums, rather this is her way of taking the power in the situation and using her experience to educate parents that may not know how easy it is for their children to hide these things.
