Statement on the Cancelation of October Dirt Races at North Wilkesboro Speedway

With “Racetrack Revival” on the current asphalt at North Wilkesboro Speedway now in the books, our XR Events team could not be more grateful for the show of support by YOU – the fans, our sponsors and all the race teams and drivers that made this past August such a success. Along with Speedway Motorsports, we all truly made history together, breathing life back into one of NASCAR's original race tracks, and it was an honor for us to take part in it.Our original goal was for Racetrack Revival to continue in early October with races on North Wilkesboro as a dirt track, just as it was when it first opened in 1947. As we've studied the conversion process from asphalt to dirt, we've come to realize we simply cannot properly prepare the track in such a limited period of time to produce the racing product fans and competitors deserve. With this notice, we are unfortunately canceling our proposed Racetrack Revival events in October at North Wilkesboro Speedway. If you purchased August/October season tickets or individual tickets to an October event, your account will be refunded by the appropriate amount. At any time, feel free to email us at tickets@racexr.com and we'll assist with your individual circumstances.Again, I can't say thank you enough to every fan, sponsor, team, driver and the entire Wilkes County community for supporting Racetrack Revival in August and making it such a historical success. After further renovations at the property, we look forward to returning to North Wilkesboro Speedway to produce more of the very best in grassroots racing!Sincerely,Barry Braun CEO, XR Events

XR Super Series Adjusts 2022 Schedule, Addressing Expenses for Drivers and Teams

Kokomo replaces Texas as Dirt Nationals Venue in September; Superior Showcase date added, North Wilkesboro XRSS to conclude Racetrack RevivalSILVER BAY, Minn. (June 20, 2022) — XR announces adjustments to 2022 schedule, tackling rising costs for teams as well as announcing venue changes and additions.Changes to the XR Super Series schedule are on the way. With supply chain issues, inflation, and fuel costs affecting competition, XR has adjusted its docket to ease stress on drivers' and teams' wallets. Race dates will be spread out more evenly with emphasis on supplemental events/dates that route with national tours. The Fever Heat 100 at Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway (Iowa) has been shortened from its original four-day show to two days (July 11-12), and the Sunshine State 50 at All-Tech Raceway (Fla.) is now two days (December 2-3) instead of the original three. An extra day has been added to the Superior Showcase at Gondik Law Speedway (Wis.) and the event will now be a Monday/Tuesday show on August 8-9.“We want to make our schedule as racer-friendly as possible, and we've made these adjustments to ease any fuel and travel burdens on anyone who wants to race with us,” said XR Chief Operating Officer Dan Robinson. “We're doing our part to make the necessary changes to fit what's best for every driver and team member. We're creating more opportunities for racers with less costs.”With the entire schedule at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track canceled for 2022 due to track resurfacing, the Dirt Nationals event on September 19-20 needed a new home. That event has been moved to Kokomo Speedway (Ind.). It will now be called the Kokomo Dirt Nationals and keep the same date. This date falls between the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series' events at Knoxville (Iowa) and Brownstown (Ind.). Kokomo's location fits perfectly geographically between the two venues, easing a travel burden on those wanting to race all three events. The event – now at Kokomo – will still be a part of the XR Super Series Triple Double. An XR Super Series Late Model date has also been added to the Racetrack Revival at North Wilkesboro Speedway October 28-29 as part of the month-long dirt racing campaign in October. With the Texas Dirt Nationals no longer being held, the Stock Cars will not race at Kokomo, but will pick up the Iowa Dirt Nationals at Dubuque (Iowa) Speedway on October 13-15 for three nights of qualifying. Due to travel concerns, the Karl Kustoms Stock Cars have been removed from the Sunshine State 50 at All-Tech Raceway, and the Stock Car Championship Race will now be held at the Duel in the Desert at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Nev.) November 10-12.“We will continue to be flexible with our dates based on economic conditions and will always make our decisions with the best interests of our racers, teams and fans in mind,” Robinson added.Overall number of races remains the same. The overall purse money for the remaining docket has increased $100,000 for the year.Remaining XR Super Series Late Model ScheduleJuly 11, 2022 – Fever Heat 100 at Stuart International Speedway, Stuart, IA, $20,000-to-WIN July 12, 2022 – Fever Heat 100 at Stuart International Speedway, Stuart, IA, $20,000-to-WIN August 8, 2022 – Superior Showcase at Gondik Law Speedway, Superior, WI, $20,000-to-WIN August 9, 2022 – Superior Showcase at Gondik Law Speedway, Superior, WI, $20,000-to-WIN September 19, 2022 – Kokomo Dirt Nationals at Kokomo Speedway, Kokomo, IN, $20,000-to-WIN September 20, 2022 – Kokomo Dirt Nationals at Kokomo Speedway, Kokomo, IN, $40,000-to-WIN October 28, 2022 – Racetrack Revival – North Wilkesboro Speedway, North Wilkesboro, NC – $20,000-to-WIN October 29, 2022 – Racetrack Revival – North Wilkesboro Speedway, North Wilkesboro, NC – $20,000-to-WIN November 10, 2022 – Duel in the Desert – Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, North Las Vegas, NV – $20,000-to-WIN November 11, 2022 – Duel in the Desert – Dirt Track ...

Chris Madden got underneath and past Scott Bloomquist to claim victory at Night 1 of the Colossal 100 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Thursday. As the two caught traffic, Madden's No. 44 crept closer and closer. Bloomquist washed up the track, and Madden got underneath him coming off Turn 2. This is Madden's seventh all-time win at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway.“We needed that long run. We were good in traffic.
