As we start this Thanksgiving week, it is inevitable that the world around us at times will not be responding with grace. From the Thanksgiving dinner table with relatives and friends who might be talking about politics or COVID to people going crazy over Black Friday sales. Don’t allow the words and actions of others negatively effect who you are. Be the better person. Be graceful. We all get to choose how we respond in every situation. Even when someone does something negative or hurtful to us. Respond with grace. Because you don’t have to be like everyone else. You don’t have to fall into that trap. Because that’s not going to help you get to where you want to go. But being a more graceful person will. - In each episode of The Sports Marketing Huddle, Rob Cressy, Founder of Bacon Sports, gives a forward-thinking perspective on the world of sports, marketing, entrepreneurship, and personal development and then gives actionable advice on how you can implement it into your business. It’s the start of November and we can see the finish line on 2020. For many this is the home stretch. On the horizon are holidays and easier times. A time to slow down, relax, and look forward to the calendar turning to 2021. Certainly next year has to be better than this one, right? For others, like myself, we are just getting started. Our finish line isn’t measured by the calendar year. We don’t wait for change to happen. We also know that when others slow down it’s a great opportunity for us to speed up. Because that’s how you separate yourself from the competition. That’s also how you build momentum. - In each episode of The Sports Marketing Huddle, Rob Cressy, Founder of Bacon Sports, gives a forward-thinking perspective on the world of sports, marketing, entrepreneurship, and personal development and then gives actionable advice on how you can implement it into your business. On my mind today is what to do when you don’t know what to do. This is something I am feeling this exact second. My morning was busier and because of it I am not getting around to doing this until 11:30 am. I didn’t have a script written. I had 10 things on my power list I’d still like to accomplish. But I am committed to doing this so you know what I did. I turned on my microphone. That was the first step. That action gets the momentum going. Then like I often do, I decided to turn what I am currently feeling or experiencing into the lesson for the day. Take action on something. Anything. It’s better than doing nothing. - In each episode of The Sports Marketing Huddle, Rob Cressy, Founder of Bacon Sports, gives a forward-thinking perspective on the world of sports, marketing, entrepreneurship, and personal development and then gives actionable advice on how you can implement it into your business. When is the best time to change? Right now. Don’t wait. My new word of the year is Vision. I have big dreams and big goals and I want them to get even bigger. That means I need to be more intentional about my vision. I also want to help others realize their vision. Because I’m just like you. I have visions of what is possible. Imagine instead of being like everyone who says "2020 is the worst year" you were someone who said "2020 is the best year". What difference do you think that would make in your mindset, your actions, and every day life? I get it, 2020 hasn't been all puppy dogs and rainbows every single day. But guess what, is dwelling on what you don't have and how things are different going to get you closer or further away from happiness and what you want? Yes it's easier and more comfortable to jump on the 2020 Sucks bandwagon, but all that does is spreads and reinforces negativity. At the end of the day we all get to choose how we respond to every situation. Instead of "this sucks" why not focus on the single moment in front of you. What one thing can you do to make that moment good? Rinse and repeat. Happiness and success starts with your mindset. Fix your mind and all of a sudden you'll see unlimited possibilities, opportunities, and happiness. As a call to action, I'd love to hear something good that has happened for you in 2020. - In each episode of The Sports Marketing Huddle, Rob Cressy, Founder of Bacon Sports, gives a forward-thinking perspective on the world of sports, marketing, entrepreneurship, and personal development and then gives actionable advice on how you can implement it into your business. Rob Cressy absolutely blew my mind in this episode. Get your notepad ready to take notes because this guy tells it like it is. We have to live the life we design for ourselves instead of living on autopilot. How are we showcasing who we are? What is our posture going into a conversation? Am I coasting through life or creating my journey? Interview your future. We have to choose to see opportunities in the negativity. Deal with the stressful situations and realize we are going to grow and learn so much by challenging ourselves. If we have an intention set for our day we are able to live a life of fulfillment and joy. Find more from Rob by looking up Bacon Sports and Leadership DNA podcast. You can also find him @robcressy on social media! A huge thank you to this guy for inspiring me to start this podcast journey.
The Live Hard program is a mental toughness program created by Andy Frisella designed to turn you into the best version of yourself. In this fifth of a five part podcast series, Rob Cressy is joined by his friend and accountability partner Brendan Pettit as they share lessons learned from their year long journey completing the program. What were the results they saw from completing the Live Hard program and how did it help build momentum in their business and life? What is the mindset that you learn and how does it prepare you for future success? Why did the Live Hard program become about lifestyle design? What did the evolution of their growth from 75 Hard to Phase 1 to Phase 2 to Phase 3 look like? Why was the community of people doing 75 Hard and Live Hard such a positive? If you are interested in becoming the best version of yourself then I recommend checking out 75 Hard and the Live Hard program. It was a life changing experience that did exactly what it said it would do. If you’d like tips, habits, routines, and lessons learned from each of the phases of the Live Hard program, you can check out the podcasts we recorded about it. How aware are you of when you give and how you receive? This past weekend a friend sent me a video where he sent good vibes my way. As a response back to him I made sure to let him know that the good vibes were received. This is a very important part of the process as it is often overlooked. It can be difficult to be a good receiver. So often we don't want others to give to us as we'd rather do the giving. Maybe we say something like "thank you, but that wasn't necessary." However, for the same reason why we enjoy giving is the same reason why it is important to be a good receiver. Allow someone else to give the gift of giving. The best thing you can do to appreciate them for their generosity is to recognize and receive it. - In each episode of The Sports Marketing Huddle, Rob Cressy, Founder of Bacon Sports, gives a forward-thinking perspective on the world of sports, marketing, entrepreneurship, and personal development and then gives actionable advice on how you can implement it into your business. My quote of the day this morning was "I am in charge of how I feel and today I am choosing happiness." What I like so much about this quote is that being happy can really be that simple. Wake up and choose happiness. Yes, you can even be happy on Monday's. When you realize that you always have the choice of happiness, why would you ever choose anything but? The key is you need to be intentional every day about choosing happiness. Sending tons of good vibes your way. Let's make this an amazing week. - In each episode of The Sports Marketing Huddle, Rob Cressy, Founder of Bacon Sports, gives a forward-thinking perspective on the world of sports, marketing, entrepreneurship, and personal development and then gives actionable advice on how you can implement it into your business. Yesterday I came across a picture from when I was in college. It got me thinking. What advice would I give my college self? It would be to learn things that I enjoy doing sooner. When I adopted a growth mindset my whole world changed. I became hungry to learn everything I could about the things I wanted to do. I had no experience in podcasting, video, graphic design, editing, or hosting a show so I taught myself. College Rob didn’t do that. I crammed for tests and didn’t like to read. Had I done so I would have followed my passions sooner. When you realize you can teach yourself anything you want then the world becomes your canvas. I’d love to hear one piece of advice you’d give your younger self. - In each episode of The Sports Marketing Huddle, Rob Cressy, Founder of Bacon Sports, gives a forward-thinking perspective on the world of sports, marketing, entrepreneurship, and personal development and then gives actionable advice on how you can implement it into your business.
