In this episode of the Mind Money Soul podcast, I'm going to be sharing the 3 things I know to be true about money. These 3 truths are powerful ways to reframe your relationship with money. First up, you've gotta think of money as a TOOL. It's a resource that helps you create the life you desire. Money itself isn't inherently good or bad; the emotions we attach to it give it meaning. So, if you've ever felt unworthy of money, it's time to challenge that belief. Picture money as part of a toolkit - just like how tools are essential for building a wardrobe, money is essential for building your dream life. Building your wardrobe or dream life without using a toolkit doesn't make you noble; it makes it harder, it takes longer and limits your potential. When you use money intentionally as a tool, you can unlock incredible opportunities in less time and with more ease. Next up, money is ENERGY and its flow is crucial. Like a river, money needs to flow in and out of your life to maintain its vitality. While saving is important, hoarding money can create stagnancy. Balance saving and spending to keep the energy flowwwwing. Last and by no means least, money is ABUNDANT and cultivating this belief is crucial to building wealth. Abundance isn't just about having more; it's about shifting away from a mindset of lack and scarcity. Wealthy people succeed because they invite abundance and you can too. Whether you're manifesting money, seeking opportunities or you're a single gal looking for love, it all starts with believing in the possibility of abundance. So there we have it; tools, energy and abundance. Tune in to discover where you may be falling short and what you need to do to hit 3/3. In this episode: How using money as a TOOL will help you build your dream life Why money isn't good or bad, it's the EMOTION we attach to it Money is ENERGY, spending is just as important! How to keep the energy flowing Money is ABUNDANT and you can't build from a place of lack The one thing that ALL wealthy people have Resources Download the ULTIMATE annual money planner Connect with me on Instagram, on LinkedIn or on TikTok Send me an Email Book a Money Mindset Exploration Session Get a copy of my FREE Monthly Spending Planner Template Get a copy of my FREE Money Date Template Join Becoming Debt Free Join The Feel Good Investor

Have you ever thought you knew what an experience was going to bring, and then turned out to be WAY off? Going to Antarctica for the first time, there were things we both thought we “knew” about what to expect… but we never expected the unique skills we'd build from being “on ice.” In this episode, we (your hosts, Keri Nelson and Cassa Grant) discuss the unexpected skills and knowledge we gained while working in Antarctica. These skills varied from the wacky things we didn't expect to do, like learning to play music and handling penguins for research… to driving unique vehicles like Ivan the Terra Bus and Zodiacs, understanding weather patterns, and observing marine mammals. We've found that skills acquired in Antarctica can be valuable in other contexts, like project management, communication, and persuasion, which are all critical skills in a remote environment like Antarctica. What unexpected skills have YOU built over the years? And how do they help you today? This episode is a chance for you to see your progress and appreciate how far you've come. How can leaders create a strong and high-performing team? Andrea reflects on his decades of experience as a leader as well as the things he has learned from others in this episode. He outlines the 5 key lessons he has learnt to help build a team that is innovative, solution-focused and supported. KEY TAKEAWAYS Every session and communication you have with a team is an opportunity to learn from them. Don't underestimate your team's creativity and solutions just because they have performed poorly in the past. Diversity is essential in teams, particularly around skillset and experience. We can unconsciously create a culture where a team ‘plays it safe' instead of taking risks and being dynamic. Better performance comes from teams recognising and being given permission to continue learning. If your team feels supported and valued then they will perform at their best. BEST MOMENTS "When your past team performance isn't great you tend to underestimate the people's abilities to come up with new and creative solutions” “When teams are given the freedom to experiment and fail they are really more likely to become out with new and innovative solutions” “Every single action, every single behaviour, every single mindset is created around learning” VALUABLE RESOURCES Like the show? For my 30th birthday I recorded this special episode where I share 30 things that I know for sure. It is my hope that those listening will take time to ponder on the things that you know for sure, and that you will share these things with your loved ones. I know that as we especially focus on daily testifying of the things we know for sure to our children, that one day they will be able to say of us... 'we did not doubt our mothers knew it.'

It's Thursday of Ordinary Time, Proper 22 in the Church Calendar. October 12, 2023. Our general order and lectionary comes from the Book of Common Prayer Daily Office. Part 4 in a special series: "Things I Know" // When it comes to feedback, what we show matters more than what we say. From facial cues to Post It notes and even subway maps, feedback signals who others are and where they're headed -- and reminds us that feedback is about a destination, not just a process.
Part 3 in a special series: "Things I Know" // Feedback has a negativity problem - it's so closely associated with criticism and correction that we forget it can be positive, too. Positive feedback improves individual performance and team effectiveness. And the best part? It's the surest, simplest way to make people feel better and do better work. From getting hospital staff to wash their hands more thoroughly to delivering happiness for 1/10 the cost, I explore how positive feedback is positively amazing. Part 2 in a special series: "Things I Know" // Feedback tells a story. And while we don't get to write the script, we always get to choose the ending. With the right mix of intention and attention, we can flip the feedback script and take charge of how others see us...and how we see ourselves. In this solo episode, I explore five ways to write a better ending to the feedback we didn't want from the beginning. Make feedback fearless: www.joehirsch.me
Part 1 in a special series: "Things I Know" // There's no feedback without failure. The first step in righting a wrong is to recognize that something is wrong: Unless we bring ourselves to acknowledge a mistake or misstep, feedback hits a wall. Failing to admit failure cost doctors their careers...and maybe even cost patients their lives. In this solo episode, I explore why failure is the best teacher and offer some ideas on how to absorb its lessons for success. Make feedback fearless: www.joehirsch.me
Welcome back to the 122nd episode of The Cup which is our a weekly (give or take, TBD, these are unprecedented times) performing arts talk show presented by Cup of Hemlock Theatre. With the theatres on a come back we offer a mix of both reviews of live shows we've seen and continued reviews of prophet productions! For our 122nd episode we bring you a duet review of Things I Know To Be True, written by Andrew Bovell, as it was just presented in Toronto by Mirvish, directed by Philip Riccio, starring Tom McCamus and Seana McKenna. Join Mackenzie Horner and Ryan Borochovitz, as they discuss family drama, Famous Blue Raincoat, and (you guessed it!) Fiddler on the Roof. CONTENT WARNING: This review contains discussions of transphobia (especially from [01:05:09] to [01:28:00]) and drug abuse. Viewer discretion is strongly advised. Less importantly, this review contains many SPOILERS for Things I Know to be True. It will begin with a general non-spoiler review until the [00:20:40] mark, followed by a more in depth/anything goes/spoiler-rich discussion. Although the Mirvish production has ended, you may nonetheless wish to avoid spoilers if you intend to see another production, read the published script … or maybe one day watch a TV miniseries produced by Nicole Kidman. A couple of days ago, I came across an Instagram post from an account called awake_spiritual, and it was a picture of Dwayne Johnson - The Rock, and it was called Things I Know at Age 45 That I Wish I Knew at 22. It had a list of 14 such things. I don't believe this is anything The Rock said, but maybe it is. It got me thinking about what I would tell my 22-year-old self. I had a few items right away and let my brain simmer with them for a bit. I've got five, and then I'll also share all 14 that the IG post mentioned too. What I would tell my 22-year-old self: Life is good. --- I thought life sucks, then you die. Life is good, and you are worthy of joy. Nothing, I repeat, NOTHING you are worried about ends up mattering much at all. The only definition of what it means to be a man that matters is yours. Whatever you are doing, that's what a man does. Action cures fear. Do the things you're afraid of. You can be right, or you can be happy. Please choose happy. Maybe you agreed with most, maybe with none. I don't care. I do care that you take a few minutes to think about this for yourself. What would you tell 22-year-old you? Or if you are a young man, what would you tell your 16-year-old self? Don't let the ages mentioned be your excuse not to do this. What Fresh Hell: Laughing in the Face of Motherhood | Parenting Tips From Funny Moms
Does your kid ask you to make their breakfast or do their laundry despite the fact that they know how to do these things? Where's the line between lending them a hand and waiting on them hand and foot? Listener Lindsay asks: "Talk to me about how you field requests from your kids to “help them” with things they're old enough to do themselves. Like my 12 year old's constant requests to make her breakfast, or my 6 year old who will often ask me to go fetch things for her that she forgot elsewhere in the house. I will often decline and tell them that they can do these things themselves… but then I wonder — couldn't they say the same thing to me when I ask them for help? They're always very willing to help me when I ask, and I know they are probably looking at these requests of me in the same light. How do I reciprocate their willingness to help me without teaching them learned helplessness? " There's no hard-and-fast rule for how much your kids should be doing around the house. As long as you contextualize the scenarios where you help for your kids, there's no harm in sometimes doing things for them if they're bogged down with homework or having a rough day. Links! We're walking down memory lane today back to 2015 when I first quit my job and then the process of starting my business. As a business owner who has been in it for a while, it can be easy to forget to share about the early days because you get so focused on what's going on now. In this episode, I coach Felicia and address the question “Why don't I do the things I know would be good for me?” Even though she knows self care would help her feel less stressed, she has found herself utilizing avoidance tactics to manage her feelings.During our time together, Felicia and I discuss her current unmet needs because when parents are irritable, it's often from a combination of high stress and low self care. I remind Felicia that taking care of herself makes her a better, healthier model of adulthood for her children.
