Inspired by Daulton Varsho, Jeff Erickson and Fred Zinkie review which players are better in real life than fantasy, and which players are better in fantasy in real life, and try to find some underlying trends. --- 00:00 - Fred Pod 9-2 01:00 - Daulton Varsho comment from Sunday night. 02:15 - Varsho isn't a good real-life hitter, but he's been decent for fantasy this year ($8) and hit .281 with 18 runs and four homers in August. 04:50 - Players who were better in real life than fantasy this year. 05:00 - Bryce Harper. 11th in OPS but just a $22 player. He will hit 30 homers, but without many steals and his batting average is more good than great. 10:00 - Freddie Freeman. 14th in OPS but a $20 player. He may not reach 25 homers or 10 steals. Hitting .285, which is fine but not special. 17:00 - Riley Greene. 20th in OPS. But hitting .259 with 20 homers and 4 steals. Missed a bit of time, but his R/RBI aren't great either. An $11 player. 22:15 - Popular opinion is that J.D. Martinez has been very good for the Mets. It's true. He has a .777 OPS. But he has generated just $4 in fantasy. Just 16 HR, 0 SB, 108 R+RBI. 29:00 - Orioles talk - Jackson Holliday, Coby Mayo 32:00 - Better in fantasy than real life. 32:20 - Maikel Garcia is second last in OPS. Has generated $17 in fantasy. The 33 steals and 83 runs scored are pretty awesome. 35:15 - Jacob Young is a poor man's version of Garcia. Eighth worst OPS but a $9 player thanks to hitting .258 with 31 steals and 69 runs. He's one of baseball's worst hitters but is helping fantasy teams in 3/5 categories. 38:35 - Zack Gelof has the 4th worst OBP of any qualified player. He also has 16 HR and 20 SB. A $4 player so far. 42:30 - Christopher Morel is batting .196 while somehow generating $3 in fantasy value. That's what 21 homers and 8 steals will do for you. 44:25 - Brice Turang has sunk to 13th worst in OPS but has generated $18 in fantasy production thanks to seven homers and 40 steals. Almost as valuable as Freeman. 46:15: - Firing up Julio Rodriguez, who's next? 47:00: - Alexis Diaz 52:25 - Good News for the Padres: Yu Darvish may return Wednesday; Joe Musgrove had a great start against the Tigers; Tatis is back. --- Pick6 Download the new DraftKings Pick Six app and use code RWPICKS. About a month ago, news of an Arizona abortion ban went viral and sent pro-aborts into a rabid frenzy. In addition to Arizona's abortion ban, Florida's 6-week abortion ban went into effect earlier this month. Former President Donald Trump weighed in on the Arizona and Florida bans, stating that both take their laws too far and need to be moved back to a more reasonable position. It appears that Bill Maher, of all people, understands the pro-life position better than most pro-lifers. Maher made shocking yet refreshingly honest comments about abortion and how elective abortions truly are murder. Today's episode evaluates #trump #billmaher their comments, and a proper understanding of abortion as murder. The Jason Modar Show Substack: https://jasonmodar.substack.com/

What do you do when you are offended? Do you quickly let it go, or do you sit and ruminate on it? If you, like most people, tend to do the latter, it can create bitterness, resentment, and pent-up anger in your life and in your heart.Living in a place where we are constantly offended is an unhealthy place to be. My guest today knows this all too well. Brant Hansen is an author, nationally syndicated radio host, advocate for life-changing healthcare to children through CURE International, and the writer of Unoffendable: How Just One Change Can Make All of Life Better. In his book, Brant explains how giving up your “right” to be offended can be one of the most freeing, healthy, simplifying, relaxing, refreshing, stress-relieving, and encouraging things you can do.In this episode, we talk about:How holding on to things can harm usWhy you should use traffic as forgiveness practiceThe personal benefits of letting things goAnd so much more!I hope this conversation is helpful as we navigate anger and offenses in our daily lives!Show Notes: https://jillsavage.org/brant-hansen-196Join me at the Empty Nest Full Life Retreat: jillsavage.org/retreatCheck out our other resources: Mark and Jill's Marriage Story Marriage Coaching Marriage 2.0 Intensives Speaking Schedule Book Mark and Jill to Speak Online Courses Books Marriage Resources: Infidelity Recovery For Happy Marriages For Hurting Marriages For Marriages Where You're the Only One Wanting to Get Help Mom Resources: New/Preschool Moms Moms with Gradeschoolers Moms with Teens and Tweens Moms with Kids Who Are Launching Empty Nest...

Many of us love to get annoyed with the AA one-liners and all the recovery phrases out there, but the truth is, they work. And if you get them, they can change your whole trajectory. When you understand what they mean, the few simple words take on a whole new meaning and it becomes its own shorthand language where you hear these few words, and you know exactly what to do. It's a game changer. Especially if you are caught up in future-tripping, thinking about a bunch of possibilities, what if this happens... what if they do this or say this... what will I do if this… Did you know that studies show 85% of the things you worry about, never happen? 85%!! That's a lot of wasted time and energy. I'm going to go through 6 of my favorite, life-changing phrases, what they mean to me, and how to use them. And, if you're signed up for the 30 Days to Fast Track Your Recovery series, you're going to have access to six more, with a little surprise bonus I'm putting together for you. Visit us at shapedbydog.com Have you ever been triggered by social media dramas about dog training methods? It's likely something we all experience. There was a recent incident at Crufts that flowed into the social channels this week that had a lot of thoughts flooding into my brain, including the question of how can we, as a community of dog loving reinforcement-based trainers, show up as our best selves when we get triggered by things out of our control? I'd love to open a dialogue on this topic and want to convey the compassion and empathy I have for everybody when sharing my experiences and observations in this episode. I understand that, for many, it might be a difficult conversation. In this episode you'll hear: • About fog training, controversy and social media dramas. • That we can all be triggered by differing dog training methods. • Thoughts on the core values of reinforcement-based training. • Why I'm not the same person or dog trainer I was 30 years ago. • My experience with being a guest on a podcast with a balanced dog trainer. • Insights into the evolution of dog training perspectives over time. • Why I called Jean Donaldson and had an enlightening conversation. • That we need grace and compassion for ourselves, and the big question. I sat down to chat with Dylan Taylor, CEO and chairman of Voyager Space. Voyager Space has a contract to build America's next space station, STARLAB, in collaboration with NASA. Dylan I would say is probably one of the top five most significant names in the entire space industry. A lot of people know Bezos and Musk, but Dylan's in that bucket. He's got a message for us today around the importance of space as an industry for social advancement.A lot of us get tangled up in thinking about space in the context of the mission to Mars. And it seems pipe dream-ish, Dylan brings us back down to reality, reframing space as a unique environment for scientific research, manufacturing, and societal advancement. He highlights Voyager's mission to scale up space infrastructure projects and recent milestones achieved with Airbus and SpaceX. Our conversation explores the implications of privately owned space infrastructure and the emergence of two distinct space ecosystems led by the US and China. Dylan emphasizes the benefits of privatization in advancing the space industry, citing SpaceX's innovations like reusing rocket boosters to reduce costs and increase accessibility to space. Dylan also shares his personal journey from a real estate executive to involvement in space exploration, highlighting the importance of following one's passion. Visit us at shapedbydog.com Have you ever wondered how to fix your dog's unwanted behavior when you want to train with positive reinforcement? In episode 256, I covered the magic question, "What was that cookie for?" that helps us all understand how we may be contributing to the behaviors of our dogs that we want to change. So, I'm following up with my top tips on turning things around. The very good news is that the formula I use to get everything back on track is easy to apply to any inadvertent behavior problem you'd like to change. In this episode you'll hear: • How unintentional reinforcement contributes to unwanted behaviors. • Why our awareness is the start of fixing unwanted behaviors. • That permission, access and what your dog loves are powerful reinforcements. • Real life examples showing what the cookie was for! • Why to check with your Vet before assuming a behavioral problem. • Three ways dogs get educated. • How using the ‘Training Triage' keeps dogs safe and what to do next. • The formula for triaging your dog's behavior. • The effectiveness of games in dog training. • The role of play in speeding up the learning process. • Challenges associated with low intentional learning and high unintentional reinforcement. • Addressing the belief that reinforcement-based training doesn't work. • How to join Recallers at a discounted rate. Visit us at shapedbydog.com With the growing popularity of positive reinforcement-based dog training, there's an increasing popularity of criticizing the use of positive reinforcement. And truthfully, it isn't all unfounded because there can be a huge variability in people's results when they choose not to use physical corrections or verbal intimidation in their dog training. I'm addressing the criticism with a look at 5 different scenarios where dogs get rewarded for things you don't want, and how using the magic question “what was that cookie for?” can fast track success and turn unwanted behaviors around. In this episode you'll hear: • The growing popularity and criticism of positive reinforcement in dog training. • What variables affect the effectiveness in dog training. • The pivotal question that can transform your approach to dog training. • What “choice point” is in dog training. • Five scenarios illustrating different reinforcement situations and their implications. • What the 5 categories of reinforcements are and knowing what your dog loves. • The impact of reinforcement on both the dog's behavior and the trainer's actions. • Why negative reinforcement is the silent killer of dreams. • How to be intentional, clear, and purposeful when reinforcing desired behaviors. • About asking the magic question “what was that cookie for?”.
