You could be eating well, supplementing intentionally, and doing all the "right" things and still be quietly working against yourself every single day. Not because of what you're not doing, but because of what you're putting in and on your body without realizing it. Nobody told us either, until someone who loved us did. Now we're telling you. This episode is a swap episode. Six things, three from Brandi and three from Dr. Desiree, that we have personally changed in our own lives. Not from a place of panic, but from a place of having the information and making the obvious next move. The science on what's in conventional cookware, makeup, lotion, and coffee isn't obscure. The product industry just hasn't had much incentive to share it. We do.Brandi walks through her swaps from body butter to wooden kitchen utensils to a blood-sugar-stable chocolate bar that actually tastes like a chocolate bar. Dr. Desiree covers the research on non-stick cookware and forever chemicals, the fragrance loophole hiding in your makeup bag, and what's really in most commercial coffee. None of these swaps require blowing up your life. Most of them cost the same or less than what you're already using. What You'll Learn:Why the first ingredient on most conventional lotions is water and what that means for your skin barrierWhat Chaga's ORAC value actually is and why applying antioxidants topically to inflamed or psoriatic skin has a real mechanism behind itWhat happens when a plastic or silicone spatula sits in a hot pan (and why "BPA-free" didn't solve the problem)Why monk fruit has a glycemic index of zero and how that changes what happens to your energy an hour after a sweet snackThe PFAS "forever chemicals" in conventional non-stick cookware, what temperature matters, and the simple technique that makes stainless steel actually workThe fragrance loophole in US and Canadian cosmetic labeling that lets one word hide dozens to hundreds of undisclosed compoundsWhy coffee is one of the most heavily pesticide-sprayed crops in the world and how mycotoxins get in before the bag ever reaches your kitchenHow L-theanine in matcha changes the quality of caffeine in the body and why it may matter more for perimenopausal women managing cortisolFour free apps and databases you can use right now to check what's actually in your makeup before you repurchase itResources Mentioned:EWG Skin Deep database (free ingredient safety ratings): https://www.ewg.org/skindeep/Yuka app (scan product barcodes in-store for ingredient scores): https://yuka.io/en/SkinSafe (developed with Mayo Clinic, helpful for sensitive skin): https://www.skinsafe.com/Merit makeup: https://www.meritbeauty.com/Your Next Steps:Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/eversiowellness/Shop Eversio Wellness and save 15% with code PODCAST15: https://www.eversiowellness.com/discount/PODCAST15?redirect=%2Fcollections%2Fall-productsNot sure which mushroom is right for you? Regret can feel like a punch to the gut, but it's one of the most underrated decision-making tools we have. When a choice leaves that bitter, lingering “that wasn't right” feeling, it's often not random emotion. It's a signal that something important in you just got ignored.I walk you through a real decision I made too quickly. We dig into values-based decision making, why trade-offs are unavoidable, and how to stop choosing from a place of stress, people-pleasing, or a packed schedule. I also share the values assessment I like (the Values Bridge Assessment by Susie Welch) and why “I know my values” isn't enough if you can't name them or act on them day to day.If you're navigating leadership decisions, career moves, or any high-stakes personal choice, you'll leave with a simple method to turn regret into alignment and make choices you're proud of later. If this helps, subscribe, share it with one person who's struggling with a decision right now, and leave a review so more people can find the show.Values-Bridge Assessment: https://thevaluesbridge.com/Executive-Coaching Session to Work Through Tough Decisions: https://calendly.com/angelashurina/executive-momentum-360Text Me Your Thoughts and IdeasSupport the showBrought to you by Angela Shurina  Certified Health, Sleep, Performance & Executive Coach 360 with 18 years of experience helping people change to feel, be and do their best.

Today we're talking about a topic that I think we are under-educated on as a society and that we need to have a better understanding of in order to thrive. And that topic is consent. I think you will find this conversation fun, interesting, and useful.  When you hear the word consent, it could feel uncomfortable or a little heavy.  But my guest today, the brilliant Marcia Baczynski, has a principle called "embrace the awkward" that we dive into in this episode. Marcia is a sought-after coach, writer, and internationally known facilitator who helps people talk about the things they were told to never talk about: sex, boundaries, consent, desire. Her work sits at the intersection of embodiment, consent culture, and unlearning "good girl" conditioning. We talk about consent in ways that go beyond the bedroom - in friendships, family, and everyday life. These principles, once you understand them, are important in so many different arenas. A quick note: We talk about sex and sexual situations in this episode. If you're listening in the car with people who shouldn't be hearing this, save it for later to come back to. Here is the scoop on what's included — ✨ Episode at a Glance What consent really is (hint: it's not just permission) The agreement model vs. the gatekeeper model Why the gatekeeper model is dehumanizing for everyone How to embrace the awkward in conversations about sex and desire Why saying yes doesn't mean you're signing a contract forever How to make clear agreements (from airport pickups to what happens in bed) The myth that your partner should "just know" after 20 years Why consent is actually the sexiest thing ever How to create freedom and full self-expression in your relationship RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE: The Questions for Couples Journal Private Coaching with Maggie Free Workshop: The Growth Gap Marriage Mindset Makeover Field Guide to Consent (PDF) by Marcia Baczynski Creating Consent Culture: A Handbook for Educators by Marcia Baczynski Marcia's Website: https://www.askingforwhatyouwant.com/  Follow Marcia on Instagram: @askmarciab

He also references his book on locum tenens, "The Locum Life", as a deeper resource for physicians considering this path, and answers common questions about housing, travel strategy, and walking into unfamiliar settings with confidence.
