In the horror community, the easiest way to show you are a fan is by what you wear. The horror T-shirt has been a staple in the fandom for what seems like forever. But it wasn't always like that. To say that fans have it easy today is a slight understatement. Not only in terms of their availability, but of the selection that is out there! It is an easy way to show the public that you are a card-carrying horror fan, whether you're wearing a Texas Chain Saw t-shirt, Cannibal Holocaust, or even a Night of the Living Dead shirt, it gives others that immediate notation that this person likes horror films. Fright Rags, one of the bigger horror T-shirt companies, has been around for over 2 decades, so we decided to ask owner/operator Ben Scrivens on the show to not only talk about the ins and outs of running a T-shirt company, but also to talk about our love of horror films and conventions. Films mentioned in this episode: Blood Sucking Freaks (1976), Braindead (1992), Bride of Re-Animator (1990), Burial Ground (1981), Cannibal Holocaust (1980), Christine (1983), Day of the Dead (1985), E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), Evil Dead (1981), Evil Dead 2 (1987), Faces of Death (1978), Friday the 13th (1980), Friday the 13th Part 3 (1982), Friday the 13th: The New Blood (1988), The Gates of Hell (1980), The Greasy Strangler (2016), Halloween (1978), Halloween II (1981), Hellraiser (1987), House by the Cemetery (1981), Humanoids from the Deep (1980), I Spit on your Grave (1978), It's Alive (1974), Jaws 2 (1978), Jaws 3D (1983), Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988), Let Sleeping Corpse Lie (1974), A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985), Night of the Living Dead (1982), Q: The Winged Serpent (1982), Return of the Living Dead (1985), The Shining (1980), Tales from the Darkside (1990), Tenebrae (1982), Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986), They Live (1988), The Thing (1982), Videodrome (1983), The Warriors (1979), The Wicker Man (1973)
The Edmonton Oilers closed out their road trip with a 3-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks. Tom Gazzola, Hernan Salas, Matt Kassian, Shawn Belle and Ben Scrivens break down the game that got chippy at the end with potential fines or suspensions coming for Connor McDavid and Tyler Myers. The boys also discuss another slow start that cost the Oilers and hear postgame interviews from Kris Knoblauch and Leon Draisaitl.
Congratulations, you've done the thing you set out to do. Your first half-marathon. A dream job. Mastering the ukulele. But what happens AFTER you accomplish something big? On this episode, stories of people trying to figure that out.In her twenties, Eman Bare personified 'girl boss' hustle culture. She earned degrees in law and journalism, designed clothes that showed at New York Fashion Week, became a certified yoga instructor, and wrote 11 books - all before the age of 30. Today, her main goal is to be in bed by eight. This recovering overachiever tells us how burnout taught her to finally say the word 'no.'Jimmy Chau was excited to run his first full-marathon, he just wasn't expecting it would take him nearly seven hours to do it. He tells us about finishing dead-last in the Manitoba Marathon, and who was there for him at the end. When Ben Scrivens retired from his career as an NHL goalie in 2016, he had to figure out how to get a “real job” for the first time in his life. Ben tells Trevor why he chose to get a master's degree in social work, helping other retired players deal with the jealousies, ego adjustments and hard truths that he struggled with after hanging up the skates for good. And Syrian-Canadian Amrou Nayal is about to visit Syria for the first time in 16 years. He reflects on lost hope, sacrifices, and staying loyal to the revolution when others gave up, and tells Ify how this moment has allowed him to dream again about the future for Syria.

The first round of the NHL Draft is complete and so too is Zack Kassian's time here in Edmonton as he was moved to the Arizona Coyotes in a cap-dump trade. Since I've got everything set up in my house anyway, I wanted to record a quick reaction podcast to say goodbye and look ahead at what comes next. Can you believe it's almost been seven years since the Oilers traded Ben Scrivens to Montreal in exchange for Zack Kassian? On December 28th, 2015, the Oilers moved the Professor to Montreal for Kassian who was going through some tough times in his personal life. Upon his arrival, it didn't take long for Kass to win the crowd over with his knack for timely goals and a willingness to drop the mitts with just about everyone. Needless to say, there were plenty of good times in those early days. But as his tenure went along and this latest contract was signed, expectations for Kassian grew beyond what was seemingly doable for the 31-year-old forward, and that meant he had to go in order to clear some space. Even though things didn't necessarily end the way we wanted them to end, I still wanted to say goodbye to a guy that gave us plenty to cheer and argue about over the years, and I wish him nothing but the best in Arizona. Ahead this week on AFITC, two horrific performances in Boston from the Vancouver Canucks left us with a series but a rebound performance in game five leaves them one win away from returning the Cup to Canada. What went wrong for the Canucks in Boston? How'd they manage to get back on track? What has to happen for them to win in Boston? We've got it covered in the Redline Report. Kicking off the Redline Report is Leaf Notes. We'll discuss James Reimer's new deal and how it benefits both sides. Back Checking brings news on how NBC retaining their Olympic broadcast rights could affect NHL participation in the next Olympics. As well, some great Listener Contributions are on the way from Twitter and Email before the Gong Banger ushers in another Troubling Fact of the Week to wrap the segment. Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Nick D'Agostino co-hosts the show this week with Dave and Jeff. He shares his thoughts on Vancouver Canucks defenseman Chris Tanev who he played against in Junior A hockey just two years ago including whether you should be surprised he's been able to make the jump to the NHL so quickly. Nick also gives his opinions of the Stanley Cup Finals, former Cornell University teammate and current Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Ben Scrivens and much more. Big thanks go out to Nick for devoting an entire evening to the show and doing an absolutely terrific job. Safe to say he's a better broadcaster than Dave and Jeff are hockey players.
