Break 1: MOG (07.14.22 KIA MOG) STORY 1: Gwinnett voters must decide who they want as their sheriff Gwinnett County voters face a choice on November 5 between re-electing Sheriff Keybo Taylor or choosing Republican challenger Mike Baker. Taylor, the first Democrat in decades to hold the office, has focused on mental health, human trafficking, and gang issues, replacing the controversial 287(g) immigration program. He aims to continue these reforms if re-elected. Baker, a former deputy featured on "Live PD," criticizes Taylor's handling of deputy retention and morale. He pledges to reinstate the Jail Dogs program and improve crime-fighting collaboration with other agencies, emphasizing public safety and crime reduction. STORY 2: A Sweet Time: Sugar Rush Arts Festival Set To Entertain This Weekend The Sugar Rush Arts Festival in Sugar Hill promises a fun-filled weekend with over 100 vendors, live music, and activities for kids. The event kicks off Friday night with the Nightmare On Broad Street Film Festival and a free concert featuring Mixtape and Gimme Springsteen. On Saturday and Sunday, attendees can enjoy art, food, inflatables, and live performances. Mayor Brandon Hembree highlights the festival's diverse offerings, inviting everyone to celebrate the community's creativity and spirit. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. We'll be right back Break 2: Tom Wages STORY 4: A Gwinnett fire truck hit was responding to an accident in Duluth. Then it was hit at the scene A Gwinnett County fire engine crew responded to a car accident at Buford Highway and Davenport Road, only for their fire truck to be sideswiped by another vehicle while they were assisting at the scene. This incident unfolded right in front of the Duluth Police Department Headquarters, adding to the chaos. The initial crash happened when a vehicle made a left turn in front of another. Fortunately, no firefighters were injured, but the intersection was temporarily closed, causing traffic delays as first responders managed the scene. STORY 5: There are 20 legislative races on the ballot in Gwinnett In the upcoming November 5 election, about two-thirds of Gwinnett County's legislative seats are contested. Out of 31 seats in the Georgia General Assembly, 20 are up for grabs. Key races include State Senate District 48, where indicted incumbent Shawn Still faces Ashwin Ramaswami, and House District 105, with Farooq Mughal against Sandy Donatucci. Notable unopposed candidates include Chuck Efstration and Arlene Beckles. The election features several races with significant implications, such as those involving Gwinnett's Muslim legislators and efforts to shift district political balances. Break 3: STORY 6: TOP PRIORITIES: Gwinnett Candidates Talk Public Safety and Affordable Housing The Gwinnett County Commission District 1 race highlights key issues like public safety and housing affordability. Incumbent Democrat Kirkland Carden emphasizes crime reduction, while Republican Tim Le focuses on housing costs. The election could shift control of the commission, with three seats, including the chair and Districts 1 and 3, up for grabs. Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson and her opponent John Sabic debate housing and development strategies. In District 3, Jasper Watkins III and Bobby Howard prioritize public safety and fiscal responsibility. The outcomes will influence the commission's approach to these critical issues. STORY 7: Buford Reunion: Texas WR Isaiah Bond, Georgia DB K.J. Bolden Meet Saturday In the upcoming college football clash between No. 1 Texas and No. 5 Georgia, Texas' offensive success may depend on junior receiver Isaiah Bond's health. Bond, a key player with 369 yards and three touchdowns this season, is questionable due to an ankle injury. Georgia coach Kirby Smart acknowledges Bond's explosive talent, noting his speed and agility. If Bond plays, he might face former Buford teammate K.J. Bolden, a freshman defensive back for Georgia with impressive stats. Bond previously played at Alabama and was a standout at Buford High, while Bolden is a five-star prospect with a strong high school record. We'll have final thoughts after this. Thinking about when I started using 3x5 cards made me go all the way back to Quicken days! Aj, Dan Gilbert, Jay Farner, Dan C, Joel G, The Weckers, Jelneck, Muska, Eric King, The Great Steve Peters, of course Rita S/Mike Budd and everyone else, You are Awesome! The 3x5 Card System is one of my favorite Warrior Weapons. It just flat out works. Just the intention of carrying it around every day will be life changing. It is the best way to keep your goals and dreams right in front of you. It is the best way to keep your focus. It is so easy to get off track as you are working towards a goal. All sorts of distractions will come up and life can get in the way. Use your 3x5 cards to keep your focus tight. I do have a 3x5 Card Guide in my Mind Hacking Mastery Course if you are looking for additional material. The key to becoming proficient with this weapon is to carry them around with you everywhere and read them out loud every day. This is one of the times you will need to keep it old fashioned. I know it may seem easier to put them on your phone and use and alarm to remind yourself but that takes away a lot of the subconscious conditioning that takes place when you have them written out, intentionally carry them with you, read them out loud and watch them become tattered. You begin to see micro changes in your thoughts and your 3x5 cards become a phenomenal tool to practice intentional focus. I am so thankful to Bobby Howard for sharing his business 3x5 cards with me. That started me on a journey to create and entire system of manifestation using 3x5 cards! This is just one Weapon of a Warrior, I have so many more that you can practice with and become lethal against failure. Put this information into action. Get some 3x5 cards and write out some positive affirmations and write out some short term and long term goals! Carry them with you, read them out loud with intention and watch your reality change! This is downloading new coding that will override your current programming that you want to change. Be ready for complete shifts and changes as you redirect your focus and energy towards what serves you! Want to learn more about Mind Hacking Mastery? Click Here! I loved this chat with well known Rotorua performer Bobby Mihi Howard. I have really enjoyed working with Bobby, and have learned so much from her in the last few months. I am humbled by the honesty and vulnerability Bobby shared during our chat. She is a passionate advocate for all women, with an ability to understand the particular challenges Maori women face in learning about and maintaining their health. Today we talk about her journey and the emotional struggles that a big woman faces in a performing arts career that worships body image. Bobby and I first talked about working together in 2020. It took her a year along with a cancer diagnosis and threat of blood pressure medication for her to step into the space of taking care of herself and her body. Although getting healthy was her primary objective, Bobby has also lost a lot of weight and last week I had a text saying she had lost even more.Bobby and I are discussing how we can work together to bring better health to the community - so watch this space!I hope you enjoy listening to Bobby's story and it helps you feel inspired on your health journey. In this episode, I talk about self-care. I have named 2022 the year of self-care, I think we deserve some self-care after the last couple of years. For me, self-care means consciously choosing to do the things that promote my own physical, mental and emotional health. It means treating my body the way it deserves to be treated rather than going to war with it for not being “perfect” (whatever that means) and then beating myself up every time I make a mistake, which I do all the time. Thanks for watching or listening. Mike Smith - Medley (1985) Mike Smith Marlboro Themes (?) I would guess 1980. 2004: Mike Smith, the lead singer of band the Dave Clark Five, has died of pneumonia at an English hospital, just weeks before the band was to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Smith, 64, was admitted to a hospital outside London on Wednesday morning with a chest infection resulting from complications of a 2003 spinal cord injury that had left him paralyzed from the waist down, his New York agent, Margo Lewis, said in a statement. His death came just two weeks before the Dave Clark Five - one of the leading bands of the 1960s British invasion - was due to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in two weeks. The Dave Clark Five, whose hits included Glad All Over and Bits and Pieces, were one of the first British bands to find major success in the United States after the Beatles. Mike Smith & Mike D'Abo - Free As A Bird (1976) Dave Clark Five - Fallout Shelter (1965) Dave Clark Five - Into Your Life (1971) Sal Mineo - PSA "Inside Your Insanity" Laughable anti-drug PSA. The Sonics - Don't You Just Know It (1965) Orig. hit by Huey (Piano) Smith & The Clowns Joy Fleming - Half-Breed (1973) The Kane Triplets - Theme Form Mission:Impossible (1968) The Kane Triplets were a pop music group made up of triplets Lucille, Jeanne and Maureen Kane. They are perhaps best known for their recording of the Theme from Mission: Impossible, which was released in 1968 by United Artists Records with vocals written by Fred Milano and Angelo D'Aleo of The Belmonts. On 30 January 2007, Jeanne Kane was murdered by her ex-husband and retired NYPD sergeant John Galtieri. Galtieri, who was (at the time) a manager at Quiznos, was sentenced to 25 years to life imprisonment for shooting Kane in a Staten Island parking lot. Which confirms my theory: DON'T EAT AT QUIZNOS!!! The Chocolate Tunnel - The Highly Successful Young Rupert White (1967) Moody Blues - Driftwood (1978) Evie Sands - Any Way That You Want Me (1969) Evie Sands - Lady Of The Night (1979) Evie Sands - One Fine Summer Morning (1969) Evie Sands - Wouldn't It Be Nice To Live Again (2007) Written by that wonderful broken soul Dennis Wilson.
