Tony the Engineer recaps the eighth episode of Season 34 of Dancing With The Stars.
This week on Select, we have Prïss, one the most exciting DJs and producers coming out of Beirut. Known for eclectic sets that weave through funk, soul, house, minimal, breaks and leftfield techno, Prïss is now based in Nairobi, where she has been exploring alternative music and sound design, collaborating with regional artists on live performances and releases that challenge conventional club frameworks. A familiar name on the global circuit, Prïss has shared the decks with international heavyweights like Dixon, Âme, Gerd Janson, A Guy Called Gerald, Nick Höppner, Éclair Fifi, and HVOB. Her versatile style has taken her from Beirut's Ballroom Blitz, where she held a monthly residency, to stages across Paris, Austria, Jordan, Switzerland, Hamburg, and Berlin. Outside the booth, she runs Puzzle.ke, a Nairobi-based events brand known for pushing the boundaries of venue design, visual production, and curation, spotlighting musicians in immersive, experimental setups. For her Select set, Prïss delivers a glitchy, futuristic journey through deep-tech and minimal house, one of her favourite musical styles. Expect acid-tinted basslines, obscure samples, and flashes of Italian dream house, with tracks like Nicole Moudaber's “A La Follie” and Onirik's “Spencer Direct Line.” It is this kind of set that feels like staring out the window of a rocket ship zooming into space.
The Ringmaster James T. Harris took the day off to get the grandbabies ready to get some candy and Producer Aaron found his way to Vegas for a hockey game (the non-pride game). Enter Kelly Nash, filling in during this Halloween Friday. Trump scares the Dems with the nuclear option to get the government open, the ballroom is still giving the left nightmares, speaking of bad dreams, Obamacare is the cause for the shutdown (they say), the Dems send their scariest candidates to try to win east coast elections, and illegals getting American benefits. This doesn't get any scarier folks.
Tony the Engineer recaps the seventh episode of Season 34 of Dancing With The Stars.
With all the democrat fixation on the Trump Ballroom being built, one democrat stands out above them all and is calling for something so crazy.... we hope it actually happens. The Ballroom Blitz appears doomed to backfire. At the same time, pride in America for democrat voters is at a 25 year low. Sounds like a win to me. Changes in some of our biggest cities are happening at the top of ICE. We have the deets on how the Border Patrol will now influence a change in procedure for mass deportations and Phase 2. Trump scores more deals in Asia as he gets ready to meet with Xi of China. The Chiefs have one stat this year that stands out above all others. A new defensive tackle signed by KC is very familiar to all of us. The Colts new female owner is changing the game on how to run a team... and she's got the top team in the AFC all of the sudden. KU's Darryn Peterson sits in an exhibition win, Toronto ties the World Series at two games a piece and our Final Final is a numbers game.

Smith somehow blaming President Trump for causing the sports gambling crime, No Kings protesters are mostly older white people, hypocritical liberals downplay the nazi symbol and Zohran Mamdani's attempt at Islamaphobia. BALLROOM BLITZ! Rossy watches and even more boring version of the 90's Captain America movie. John loves ICKy things. Flint commits sacrilege by saying that The Friday the 13th movies are garbage! All this and the Prog Review!
The 53+ Million Dollar Firing, What IS and What Should Never Be10-27-2025
Helen Andrews' Compact article on "The Great Feminization" is causing a stir, provoking responses from left, right, and in-between. And I just know that everyone wants to hear David French's take on it, because how can we form a judgment about anything without hearing from the Conscience of the World. (Actually, just go with the normally mild-mannered Charles Murray's take: "I'm still waiting to read something by David French that doesn't irritate me. Even when I agree with the substance, the sanctimony drives me nuts. In this case, I wholly disagree with his take on Helen Andrews.")John Yoo files a dissent of his own that Steve and Lucretia find worthy of certain members of the Supreme Court just now, but keep your eyes out on this one; Steve, naturally, has an analogy on offer. The gang also wonders if some Chinese lab has come up with a new, more potent strain of Trump Derangement Syndrome, because how else can you explain how insane Trump-haters are over . . . a White House ballroom? (You can guess the exit music this week. Yup, it's that 1970s standard, "Ballroom Blitz" by Sweet.)We end with a few sober thoughts about health care, and then it's back to arguing about . . . neckties.
This hour we play everyone's favorite Friday afternoon radio card game Card DeSharks, and Jason wonders if you're really upset about the White House ballroom.
Ian Hoch drops the 2 O'clock News Bomb and addresses the White House ballroom renovations
John discusses the demolition of the White House's East Wing as Trump builds his extravagant grand ballroom during a government shutdown (a dramatic change from previously described plans for Trump's resort-styled banquet hall. He also talks about Christian Nationalist Joshua Haymes who does a podcast with Pete Hegseth's pastor Brooks Potteiger. In the podcast Josh discusses the bible's approval of slavery and the sins of going against the bible's teachings. Pete has been on the podcast many times. Then, Bob Cesca returns to chat about the No Kings Protest, the government shutdown, and the gaudy new White House. Next, John welcomes back The God Squad featuring Dillon Naber Cruz and Matthew Distefano filling in for Desimber Rose. They talk about John's new book and the rise of Christian Nationalism in the Republican party. And rounding it out, legal analyst Dr. Tracy Pearson joins the crew to talk with listeners and answer questions about Trump's many legal battles.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

It's a SPECIAL BONUS EPISODE as Baxie talks with drummer Richie Onori and keyboardist Stevie Stewart from Sweet! Sweet's history is a long and complicated one. On one hand it's a band that sold more than 35 million albums with classic hits like Ballroom Blitz, Fox on the Run, and Love is Like Oxygen. Since then, three of the original members formed their own separate versions of the band—often operating at the same time. In 2008 original bass player Steve Priest formed his own versions of the band. Sadly in 2020, Steve Priest died at the age of 72. However, both Steve Priest and his family bestowed the responsibility of curating the Sweet's legacy to Richie Onori and Stevie Stewart. They not only continued as Sweet they've also recorded new material. It's an incredibly interesting story. One that offers a new take on what it means to keep a rich musical heritage intact. Listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and on the Rock102 app! Brought to you by Metro Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Chicopee!

This edition of our Select series comes courtesy of Beirut-based DJ, producer and percussionist Julian Naman, aka JOOL. Inspired by his parents' extensive music collection, he started producing tracks at the early age of 14, merging various sounds, from jazz, hip-hop and ambient, to progressive rock, techno and house. He has performed alongside a slew of prominent international artists, including Dasha Rush, Ion Ludwig and Answer Code Request, traversing prestigious dancefloors at B018, Ballroom Blitz, Paris' Sputnik and Athens' The Place. Speaking of his Select set, JOOL says, “This set was born out of the challenging times we face in the region, where stress and uncertainty feel overwhelming. It's a reflection of that journey - an offering of love, a message of unity through sound.”

We start this episode with Tom telling the story of how he almost got fired from his job – and how it almost meant the end of Famous Lost Words before it even started! Then we continue with our series on ‘70s Rock. Last week we featured Boston, The Doobie Brothers, Jethro Tull, BTO and others. This week, more from that era, including a great series of interview clips with Mick Jones and Lou Gramm of Foreigner, with the latter taking a big swing at the former's dictatorial ways. Then a very interesting interview with Journey, right from the time when they are about to take off – but haven't yet had a major hit. We also have another early career interview with ELO – and the struggle to marry classical and rock and make it work in a live setting. Plus, Dennis DeYoung from Styx explains how a Chicago disc jockey changed the fortunes of that band. Then, in a clip from the mid ‘70s, Steve Priest of Sweet tells us how they changed their image before they hit North America – and explains the story behind Ballroom Blitz. And for Canadian rock fans, we have Prism and Trooper telling us about ambitious plans, their biggest hits, and the toughest Canadian audience to play for. Lost Words, hosted by Christopher Ward and Tom Jokic, is heard in more than 100 countries worldwide and on radio stations across Canada, including Newstalk 1010 Toronto, CJAD 800 Montreal, 580 CFRA Ottawa, AM 800 CKLW Windsor, 610 CKTB St Catharines, CFAX Victoria, AM1150 Kelowna and 91x in Belleville. It is in the Top 20% of worldwide podcasts based on the number of listeners in the first week.
