Peacock, Jr., Senor Buscador retires from racing with $12,944,427 in earnings and was trained by Todd Fincher.Breaking his maiden at two on debut by 2 1/2 lengths, Senor Buscador then jumped straight into stakes company winning the $220,000 Remington Springboard Mile by 5 3/4 lengths. That effort garnered him a 93 Beyer as a two-year-old, the second highest Beyer of any two-year-old colt at a mile in 2020.The black type success continued at 4, with a win in the G3 Ack Ack S. at Churchill Downs. In his first start of 2023 he returned to the winner's circle in the Curribot H., defeating the field by 4 lengths. He fought back in the stretch to defeat a talented field of runners, including G1 winners The Chosen Vron and Senor Buscador. He capped his three-year-old season with his first grade one victory in the G1 Malibu S. at Santa Anita defeating G1 Kentucky Derby winner Mystik Dan.An international field in the $1,000,000 G2 Godolphin Mile set the stage for Raging Torrent's four-year-old campaign for new owners Yuesheng Zhang and Craig Dado. He was never in doubt, jumping out to an early lead and drawing away for an easy 3 ½ length victory. Returning to the U.S., he led the entire way yet again in his G1 Metropolitan Handicap victory, making easy work of a field that included champion two-year-old Fierceness and G1 Breeder's Cup Classic winner White Abarrio with a career best 106 Beyer.

With a little more than three months before the run for the roses, a mock draft for Kentucky Derby 2026 brings together seven handicapping minds for this week's Ron Flatter Racing Pod. Horse Racing Nation hard-core handicapper and fair-odds author Ed DeRosa will be joined by Chip Gehrke, the Doctor Derby curator of weekly division rankings who won last year's draft by picking Sovereignty in the second round. Five others take part, including Churchill Downs analyst and Turfway Park host Kaitlin Benson, 2012 National Horseplayers Championship winner Michael Beychok, Betting on Horse Racing for Dummies author Richard Eng from Las Vegas, sports-gambling host and former NFL quarterback Shaun King and Fox Sports and New York Racing Association TV analyst Maggie Wolfendale-Morley. In this richly illustrated volume they explore the murky provenance of “That Beats Banagher!” and how it entered Irish political and cultural lore. A beguiling spinner of the town's stories, James shares tales of the earliest days of the town, the arrival of the international man of mystery from the 1600s Matthew de Renzy, the town's unexpected literary links to Anthony Trollope and Charlotte Brontë, Banagher's vibrant community life, and its status as a popular port of call for the river cruising crowd.They started the day in a pub, absolved their sins in a church, and then retreated to a pub, J.J. Hough's Singing Pub, a renowned destination for trad music fans and tourists alike run by Ger Hough, who IrishCentral called the most creative publican in Ireland.There they met David and Mark Boylan who John got to know when the Breeders' Cup flew the whole Boylan family to Kentucky so the then 14-year-old Mark could sing his Breeders' Cup song before about 80 thousand fans at Churchill Downs for the 2011 World Championship race meet.
