The Sports Experience Podcast with Chris Quinn and Dominic DiTolla
Episode 287 of “The Sports Experience Podcast” is here & we're continuing our block on some of the NFL's best postseason games of all time.In this episode we're discussing the 2001 AFC Divisional Playoff game between the New England Patriots and the Oakland Raiders. On a snowy night in what was the last game ever played at Foxboro Stadium, the New England Patriots took on the Oakland Raiders in one of the most controversial games in NFL history.Oakland steadily built a 13-3 lead behind quarterback Rich Gannon towards the end of the 3rd Quarter, and all seemed to be going the Raiders' way.New England, led by their former backup quarterback Tom Brady, however mounted a valiant comeback in the final quarter.A Brady touchdown run cut the deficit to 13-10, and an enormous stop on 3rd and 1 before the Two Minute Warning allowed the Patriots to regain possession for one final drive in regulation. On that final drive, controversy reared its ugly head. On what was a complete and total fumble forced by future HOF cornerback Charles Woodson, the referees stepped in and brought out “The Tuck Rule” which ruled the play incomplete and New England retained possession.Adam Vinatieri kicked an amazing field goal to tie the game and send it to overtime. Then in sudden death, Vinatieri iced the game with a field goal to hand the Patriots the win, 16-13.This in turn led to an eventual Super Bowl victory for the Patriots, and two decades worth of dominance of professional football.Connect with us on Instagram!Chris Quinn: @cquinncomedyDominic DiTolla: @ditolladominicProducer: @ty_englestudioInstagram: @thesportsexperiencepodcastIf you enjoy this podcast, please help support us @:https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-sports-experience-pod/support#sportspodcast#comedypodcast #oaklandraiders#newenglandpatriots#nflplayoffs

Send us a textIn this live postgame reaction show, Drew from *2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates* dives into the aftermath of the Colts vs. Giants game at MetLife Stadium. The Giants have completed their final home game of the season, and the focus remains on their pursuit of the number one overall draft pick. With a 10-game losing streak in tow, New York is now officially the first Giants team in franchise history to go winless at home. Drew breaks down the game, the team's struggles, and what this all means for the future of the Giants. The quarterback matchup added intrigue to the game, with Drew Lock starting for the Giants and Joe Flacco leading the Colts. Despite heroic efforts by rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers, who played through injuries, and the uncertainty surrounding running back Tyrone Tracy Jr., the Giants couldn't get it done. Fans are left wondering if this is all part of the bigger picture—securing a generational talent at the top of the draft. The conversation then shifts to college football, starting with Cam Ward's controversial decision during the Pop-Tarts Bowl. Ward made NCAA history by setting the career record for passing touchdowns, but his decision to sit out the second half of the game sparked debate. Miami lost to Iowa State 42-41, and Drew dissects whether Ward's actions were worse or better than players who opt out of bowl games entirely. Did Ward abandon his teammates, or does the nature of the Pop-Tarts Bowl make it a non-issue? Next, Drew unpacks the Shedeur Sanders buzz. During the Alamo Bowl, Sanders sparked speculation by being spotted with custom cleats in Giants colors in his locker. A viral video teased their reveal, and although reports claimed he wore them during the game, those were later debunked. Could Sanders be sending a not-so-subtle hint about his NFL aspirations and a potential fit with the Giants? Drew also addresses the massive implications of the Giants holding the top pick in the draft. With the franchise's future hanging in the balance, is Joe Schoen the right person to make this decision? There's a debate over whether Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward is worthy of the first overall selection. Some argue that Schoen's job security could influence his choice, while a new GM might prioritize long-term team building. Lastly, Drew celebrates a historic moment for Giants legend Eli Manning, who has been named a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Eli joins an elite list of 15 finalists, including first-time nominees like Luke Kuechly, Terrell Suggs, and Adam Vinatieri. Drew discusses Eli's chances of being a first-ballot Hall of Famer and whether his legacy, the Manning name, and his New York market ties will tip the scales in his favor. This episode is packed with insight, analysis, and passionate reactions from Drew as he covers the Giants' struggles, college football controversies, and a legendary Giant's Hall of Fame candidacy. Another year with Hines Ward and James Harrison on the HOF semifinalist list. Does either guy deserve to get in? But will they? Which one of the two has a better case? Poni didn't like an argument from The Morning Show today about one of the best kickers in league history. Is Hines Ward less deserving than Adam Vinatieri to be in the Hall of Fame? Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Mike believes Hines Ward should absolutely be in the Hall of Fame. Is there really a bias against the Steelers to get into the Hall? How do the parameters change when it comes to the HOF year after year? Mike reacted to the Steelers beating the Ravens. Mike said there is a predetermined narrative that the Ravens are a great team and that Lamar Jackson is the MVP. Will the Steelers-Chiefs game on Christmas have issues for Netflix users that don't have access to the local Pittsburgh broadcast. Would it be humiliating for the Steelers to lose in Cleveland tomorrow night?
With the NFL Hall of Fame finalists announced, the guys discuss who should and shouldn't be inducted.
Welcome to Episode 105 of "Unsportsmanlike Conduct," where Farace, Tim, and Anthony tackle the latest in sports with all the grace of a fumbled snap. This week, it's a whirlwind of chaos, predictions, and a few questionable opinions—just the usual, really. First up, a quick look at the final week of the baseball season. Playoff chatter is in full swing, and Farace will likely dive deep into stats while Tim wonders how many innings he can sit through without checking his phone. Anthony, as usual, will pretend like he's followed baseball all year instead of just Googling "MLB standings" five minutes before the show. Then it's onto NFL Week 2, where underdogs ruled the day and people's wallets took the hit. Farace will claim he saw the upsets coming (he didn't), Tim will somehow connect it all to his fantasy team, and Anthony might just cry over all the busted parlays. Speaking of the NFL, Bryce Young is OUT as the Panthers' QB, making history as the quickest #1 overall pick to get benched. Tim will probably try to rationalize this decision with some bizarre analogy involving race cars, while Farace points out the obvious—this is not what the Panthers had in mind. Injuries are piling up across the NFL, wreaking havoc on fantasy teams everywhere. Expect Farace to complain about losing players, Tim to boast about his "in-depth" backup strategy, and Anthony to remind everyone that he's still winning... for now. Finally, the crew takes a look at the first-timers on the NFL Hall of Fame ballot, including Eli Manning, Terrell Suggs, Luke Kuechly, and Adam Vinatieri. Expect a debate on who deserves the gold jacket—spoiler: Farace will find a way to make this about the Giants, Tim will overthink Vinatieri's career, and Anthony will insist on bringing up fantasy stats that have no relevance to the Hall of Fame. Join us for Episode 105, where predictions are shaky, opinions are strong, and at least one host will claim victory over something no one else cares about. It's sports talk at its finest—or at least, sports talk at its most entertaining. #UnsportsmanlikeConduct #PopCulturePros
