In this warm, encouraging conversation, Sarah and I share about transforming our daily time in the kitchen—from seeing it as a reluctant chore to embracing it as a place of genuine joy, love, and even worship. We share how God softened their hearts toward cooking, revealing it as a beautiful way to steward their homes, nurture their families, and extend hospitality even in the everyday moments. Drawing from Scripture and real-life experiences, they explore how preparing meals can minister to others (just as Jesus did around the table), build lasting family memories, and fill the home with an inviting aroma that points to His presence. Together we discuss simple, heartfelt shifts: slowing down to savor the process, involving children in meaningful ways, setting the table with care (candles, music, favorite dishes—even for their own loved ones), and reclaiming the family table in a culture that's losing it. Whether you're a busy mom looking to find delight in meal prep or simply want to make your kitchen feel more like the heart of your home, this episode invites you to start small and rediscover cooking as an act of purposeful love poured out right where you are. In this episode of the podcast, we get a faith-centered, practical roadmap to combat excessive screen time and reclaim family presence. Recent data shows teens averaging 7+ hours of daily entertainment screen time (with many exceeding 8 hours), nearly half of U.S. teens online "almost constantly" (Pew Research), and kids owning smartphones by age 12 facing higher risks of depression, obesity, and poor sleep (2025 CHOP/Columbia study). For moms, heavy smartphone use often heightens stress, anxiety, and fatigue—stealing moments from kids and God. Mark Sullivan rips the bandaid off of decades of repressed memories about past dealings with Andy and Charlie to join the show Mark is co-founder and partner at Lineage Capital, one of the leading private equity firms devoted to leaving growth-minded business owners with board control, even after selling a majority stake. If this sounds familiar, it's because Lineage and Charlie's firm New Heritage Capital (NHC) evolved out of a common predecessor. Discussions commence with Mark and Charlie's apocalyptic meeting in 1998, then circles back to Mark's Atlanta childhood, college at Washington & Lee and early career. Superb discussion about non-control investing and some fancy footwork from Andy when Mark asks who he would show a deal to first -- Lineage or NHC.

Life is 95% mindset and 5% action. Join me and Sarah Boots from Faithful and Flourishing as we unpack the power of a right mindset, grounded in Matthew 22:37—loving God with all your heart, soul, and mind. Your perspective shapes your relationships, growth, and daily outcomes. A negative mindset hinders; a renewed one heals and brings joy (Proverbs 17:22). We chat through these Biblical principles that root our thinking in God's Word. Choose gratitude daily (one simple daily habit that changed everything) Speak truth to yourself (Proverbs 12:25, 15:23) Embrace the truth: “I only have today—make today count!” Walk away with biblical encouragement and actionable steps to realign your mindset with God's priorities, so every day reflects faith, purpose, and grace. Is it possible to truly live a life you love? Join me and Sarah Boots from Faithful & Flourishing as we seek to answer this question based on truths from God's Word. We explore how to build an excellent life—not a perfect one—through intentional choices rooted in faith and wisdom. Drawing from Proverbs 29:18, we discuss the power of a clear vision to give direction and purpose. You'll learn to identify your top 5 priorities, use them as a decision-making filter, and align daily habits with what matters most—through keystone habits, habit stacking, and asking, "What will tomorrow's me thank today's me for?" We also dive into the freedom of simplicity: decluttering your space, schedule, and mind to create margin for family, faith, and rest—because a cluttered life often crowds out what we claim to value. Discover practical steps to live with purpose, avoid burnout, and ensure your time truly reflects your deepest priorities. "Wrong will be right when Aslan comes in sight, at the sound of his roar sorrows will be no more, when he bares his teeth winter will meet its death, and when he shakes his mane we shall have spring again." We live in a world that is ravaged by sin and brokeness. Though it can feel like this "winter" season is forever, Christ is on the move! We can cling to His promises and trust in His Word, finding courage, hope, and joy. God will take care of you, Through every day, o'er all the way... Throughout our lives, we pick up burdens—big and small—that quietly grow into worry, fear, and overwhelm. We weren't meant to carry them alone. In this episode, we look at one of the most tender invitations in Scripture: “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” (1 Peter 5:7). God doesn't just offer to take our anxieties; He promises to shoulder them completely and to carry us through every storm. The primary focus of this podcast episode is the severe winter weather conditions affecting the upper Midwest and Great Lakes region, which are anticipated to create hazardous travel scenarios during the holiday period. The National Weather Service has issued blizzard and winter storm warnings, particularly for parts of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, with expectations of dangerous travel due to whiteouts and wind gusts reaching 40 to 50 miles per hour. Additionally, heavy lake effect snow is forecasted through Thanksgiving, while other regions, such as Hawaii, have experienced seismic activity, including a magnitude 4.6 earthquake. Furthermore, it is essential for residents affected by Typhoon Halong in Alaska to be aware of impending deadlines for federal assistance, specifically noting that they have until December 22 to apply for aid. This episode serves to inform listeners of critical weather updates and safety recommendations in light of these significant meteorological events.Takeaways:* The National Weather Service has issued blizzard and winter storm warnings for Michigan's Upper Peninsula, indicating severe weather conditions. * Travel during the holiday season may be perilous due to blizzard conditions, with whiteouts and gusts reaching 40 to 50 miles per hour. * It is crucial for residents in affected areas to apply for disaster assistance by December 22, to secure necessary support. * Heavy lake effect snow is anticipated through Thanksgiving, yet minimal flood risk is expected nationwide, as per the Weather Prediction Center. * The recent earthquake in Hawaii was recorded at a magnitude of 4.6, but no tsunami warning has been issued for this inland quake. * Various states are experiencing winter weather warnings, particularly in the northern regions, with significant snowfall projected.
