The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Dr. Allison Skinner-Dorkenoo. A professor in the University of Georgia's department of psychology, Dr. Skinner-Dorkenoo examines the psychology of “bias” and “prejudice” and how this thinking can be undone. Gus was intrigued when hearing about her report investigating White attitudes about Covid-19 once the racial disparities of the virus's spread were highlighted. White support of social distancing, masks and staying home drastically waned as did their overall fear of the coronavirus. We'll also discuss a related study which examines the medical notion of “race correction,” where White medical officials make decisions about treatments and diagnoses that vary according to the racial classification of the patient. These “corrections” mean black people receive less pain medication and organ transplants, and are considered intellectually inferior as it relates to their White counterparts. Dr. Skinner told us none of these "corrections" harm White patients. It seems to Gus what undergirds all of these problems is White people's collective dedication to the practice of White Supremacy/Racism. The country is focused on Payton S. Gendron White Terrorist attack in Buffalo, New York. Gendron allegedly planned to murder as many black people as possible before carrying out an antiblack slaughter with 13 people shot, and ten deaths. 11 of the 13 Victims were black. Many people are comparing this event to Dylann Storm Roof, the convicted White Supremacist killer who murdered 9 people at a black South Carolina church in 2015. However, Buffalo, New York has it's own history of White Supremacist violence. Joseph G. Christopher, a White Man, was convicted of killing a number of black males - and evidence linked him to the murders of approximately a dozen murdered black males and boys. A suspect used the day to drive a truck down a pedestrian path in New York City; eight people died in the incident which was immediately branded an act of terrorism to be closely associated with the 2001 9/11 attacks. Barely 24 hours later, a White man, Scott Allen Ostrem, opened fire in Colorado Wal-Mart, but he was not labeled a terrorist. A University of Hartford White female student, Brianna Brochu, is accused of orchestrating a weeks long campaign of chemical and biological warfare against her black roommate. She posted on social media that she had shoved her black roommate's toothbrush in her rectum and smeared used tampons on her belongings. Although has been arrested, she has not thought of as a terrorist. U.S. Senator Tim Scott was violently threatened by a Suspected Race Soldier who was angered that the South Carolina lawman verbally disparaged convicted mass killer Dylann Storm Roof. Jason Kenneth Bell has been arrested for threatening to Sen. Scott and is alleged to have also threatened NAACP members and praised the actions of Roof. Stephen Paddock reportedly unloaded on a mostly White crowd at a country music festival. At least 59 people are reported dead, and 500 people were reported injured. Additionally, Paddock was reportedly engaged in a sexual arrangement with a non-white female, Marilou Danley. She was out of the country at the time of the mass killing, but she remains the target of suspicion that she knew about Paddock's military arsenal of weaponry and his homicidal plans. Across the country, a different White man was arrested for threatening to kill Black students at the University of Howard. A shooting that garnered significantly less attention occurred at the end of September in Nashville, Tennessee. A 25-year-old black male, Emanuel Kedega Samson, was arrested and charged for a fatal shooting at a Sunday morning worship service that left a White woman dead and several injured. Samson is alleged to have launched this murderous attack in retaliation for Dylann Storm Roof's 2015 terrorist attack. And rounding out a historic and violent week, O.J. Simpson was quietly released from a Nevada prison, the same morning as Paddock's Las Vegas slaughter. Professor William Willimon visits The Context of White Supremacy. "Professor of the practice of Christianity" at North Carolina's Duke University, Willimon served as dean of Duke Chapel and professor of Christian ministry for two decades. He's written over 60 books and holds honorary degrees from more than ten institutions. We'll investigate his 2017 publication, Who Lynched Willie Earle? Confronting Racism through Preaching. Professor Willimon writes about the 1947 lynching of twenty-four-year-old Willie Earle. White terrorists blamed him for the death of a White taxi driver and abducted the unarmed black male from a South Carolina jail. Earle was tortured and mutilated before being murdered. No one was convicted for the crime. Willimon's book explores how the religion of White Supremacy encouraged the lynching and enslavement of black people. Like convicted mass killer Dylann Storm Roof, Willimon is a White man and a South Carolina native. Over the past year we saw the transition of sportscaster Stuart Scott, journalist Dori Maynard, Civil Rights legend Julian Bond, and historian and scholar Dr. Ben. Obtaining an education on the plantation of White Supremacy proved especially onerous with black students being body slammed in South Carolina, while statues to worshipped White Supremacist Cecil Rhodes continue to be lorded over black scholars in South Africa. Even black educators were unsafe as a group of black faculty received years of prison time for a cheating scandal in Atlanta, Georgia. The world rushed with compassion and support for the White victims of the Charlie Hebdo attack and the subsequent massacre in Paris, France. Conversely, the black female victims of convicted sexual terrorist and former enforcement officer Daniel Holtzclaw were mostly disregarded and disbelieved. White journalists have demanded that we acknowledge the threat of muslim terrorists, but have remained comparatively quiet about the litany of attacks against black places of worship. The one attack on a church that did receive massive attention was Dylann Storm Roof's terrorist assault in Charleston, South Carolina. Roof murdered nine people and may have executed a political assassination taking the life of State Representative Rev. Clementa Pinckney. Unlike Tamir Rice, Walter Scott or Freddie Gray, Roof was fed and taken into custody unharmed. He was found guilty on four of six first-degree rape counts, and the all white jury recommended nearly 3 centuries of prison time. He'll be sentenced on January 21st. While black females struggle to safegaurd their bodies and lives, Abigail Fisher, a White Woman, continues her assault on "affirmative action" at the Supreme Court. This is the second time the highest court in the land is adjudicating this case. Justice Antonin Scalia suggested that black scholars avoid high caliber academic institutions and stick to a slower, "less-advanced school," more accommodating to puny negro intellect. Speaking of institutions to avoid, Charleston, South Carolina's Citadel has again been accused of Racism. Nearly a dozen White students wore "costumes" resembling the Klu Klux Klan. There are calls for the school's president to resign and for federal funding to be withdrawn. Race Soldier Fields has a history of alleged misconduct and was formerly fired earlier this week. Mr. Fields' behavior should be analyzed within the historical context of South Carolina luminaries like Governor Ben Tillman, Senator Strom Thurmond, Dr. J. Marion Sims, and Dylann Storm Roof. While much was said about the contemptable and common abuse of a black South Carolina child, nothing was said about the upcoming trial of Daniel Holtzclaw, which is slated for Monday, November 2nd. Alleged predators like Holtzclaw prompted one black male to seek sanctuary north of the U.S. border in Canada. The verbal kerfuffle over Confederate monuments and White Supremacist memorabilia has received far more focus than the fact that Dylann Storm Roof should never have been allowed to purchase a firearm. Roof, Whitefolks are not exposed to the same scrutiny and punitive assumptions as Florida State's De'Andre Johnson. The star athlete was booted from the football team and arrested following an skirmish with a White Woman in a bar. The White chic allegedly called Johnson racial slurs, struck him in the groin and is seen on video assaulting the black male before he punches her. She will not been charged. President Barack Obama offered a dramatic, political eulogy for State Senator Rev. Clementa Pinckney. Racists have skillfully steered attention to an indictment of the Confederate flag and Confederate paraphernalia. The abuse of black people is the essence of global White identity. Lost in the shuffle, black churches in North Carolina, Florida, and Georgia were damaged or destroyed by fire. The fires in North Carolina and Georgia have already been ruled arson. The mischief of the former Spokane, Washington NAACP president were instantly submerged by the White evil of Charleston, South Carolina. Dylann Storm Roof invaded the Emanual A.M.E. Church with a White Terrorist agenda. He methodically murdered 9 black people - including State Senator Rev. Clementa C. Pinckney. Joseph L. Jones among others assert this was a political assassination; Mr. Pinckney had a distinguished record of confronting Racism, including public opposition to the police killing of Walter Scott earlier this year. Professor Anthea Gibson and host of others have poignantly noted that Roof has not been branded a "thug" or a "terrorist" - which seems reflexive when the perpetrator has melanin.
