We always talk about spring cleaning but what about fall cleaning? As the autumn equinox aligns with World Cleanup Day, join us in exploring the often overlooked practice of "Fall Cleaning." While spring is known for renewal, autumn holds its own transformative magic. As the energy shifts from the bustling pace of life to a more contemplative, cozy state, it's the perfect time to consider what we carry into hibernation. In this episode, we delve into the human inclination to preserve energy, acknowledging the battles we face—be it addictions, negative thoughts, or self-talk habits. Rather than insisting on shedding these burdens entirely, we question if, as winter approaches, we want to invest our dwindling energy in things that weigh us down. Discover the transformative power of cleaning, not just in your mind but in your physical environment. We explore the magic of setting intentions while cleaning your personal spaces, parks, and nature around you. Uncover the emotional, mental, and spiritual impacts that cleaning can have, even through seemingly small acts like picking up litter. In the depth of cleaning, find a sense of accomplishment that reverberates beyond the physical realm. We go beyond the surface, discussing how cleaning can be a mindful practice, reducing stress and bringing a sense of inner achievement. Join us on a journey beyond picking up litter; it's about reconnecting with nature and finding joy in the design of what we consume. Actions for Your Fall/Winter Cleaning Journey: Join a Clean-Up Event: Connect with your community by participating in or organizing local clean-up events. Embrace Mindful Cleaning: Make cleaning a mindful practice, focusing on the present moment and the energy you want to cultivate. We've all heard of the concept of SPRING CLEANING but what about cleaning up and reorganizing that cave before a few months of hibernation ?!?! (Or, for my Louisiana folk, why not do something productive other than the usual holiday stuff between LSU Football and Mardi Gras?) As an actor, I've had many "side hustles" but my main one is a PERSONAL ORGANIZER. I've seen a variety of types of situations - from hoarders to fashionistas and my goal is to individualize organization and help empower people to feel organized and know where all there things are as opposed to achieving perfection. I'll share my TOP SEVEN ORGANIZATION TIPS for a good ole FALL CLEANING and tell some organizational tales of yore. ***MENTION THAT YOU LISTENED TO THIS PODCAST EPISODE FOR 20% OFF YOUR FIRST VIRTUAL ORGANIZATION COACHING OR IN PERSON ORGANIZATION SESSION. Last weekend I was doing some cleaning in preparation for fall. As a business professor, I have thousands of books in plastic tubs. One of the books that distracted me from cleaning was the Franchise Times Guide to Selecting, Buying and Owning a Franchise. I was reminded of the interview Don and I did with Julie Bennett, author of the Franchise Times Guide to Selecting, Buying and Owning a Franchise. The book, which has been updated, is filled with practical advice from real-life individuals who made the jump into franchising. Some of Julie’s quotes made it into our Great Quotes in Franchising. We had fun on this interview. In part two, we will play a clip from our popular Great Quotes in Franchising podcast.

This episode, we are doing a little bit of "Fall Cleaning" with an wide array of films that have been sitting on the shelf for us for too long. We have a HUGE October coming up, so I want to clean out our backlog before the month starts. On this episode, we are going to be visiting the "Puppet Master" hotel for the latest chapter of the series, "The Littlest Reich". This may be the most fun film in the entire franchise. "The Babysitter" on Netflix was the latest film to distract Jess, and keep her up late watching instead of working on homework. "Kill List" was one that deserved a huge mention, but just hasn't fit into an episode. Happy to include it here. "Society and The Wraith"- was a fun as hell Midnight Mutant type double feature that I'm happy to finally share with everyone. Both are on Shudder, and are surprising. Especially Society. OMFG. "Stepfather"- is a visit to classic 80's camp with Terry O Quinn as our guide. It's on Amazon, and is required viewing. Slice- New Release from A24 that was part of a double feature...maybe the weaker part. Strange Nature- A New Eco-Horror film coming this week to theaters that is a good one for the left leaning Horror Heads to check out. High Tension- Jess and I pay off our Wheel assignment with High Tension, which may have started out way stronger than it finished. Trigger warning for fans of this film: we may not have liked it very much, maybe not at all.
