Welcome to the Financial Freedom & Wealth Trailblazers Podcast! In this episode, we'll explore how hands-on experiences, from small transactions to entrepreneurial ventures, can teach children the real worth of money and why this is a key lesson for their future. Julie Bennett co-founded Lemonade Standers with her sister, Emily. Together, they are sisters and moms on a mission to find fun and playful ways for kids to learn and practice essential life skills, such as understanding how money works and how to connect with others. Having experienced firsthand the pitfalls of modern shopping culture, where "just tap, slide, or insert" your card has made money nearly invisible to kids, they were inspired to take action. Their goal is to bring back the concept that kids learn best through play, experience, and practice—something as simple and relatable as a lemonade stand. With over 35 years of combined corporate and entrepreneurial experience, two MBAs, a Master's in Aeronautical Science, hundreds of hours of career development coaching, and more than 3,000 hours of research, Julie and Emily created Lemonade Standers to help kids build the financial knowledge and skills they need to create the life they want. If you're a parent, it's no secret the secular world is working overtime to drive a wedge in between you and members of your family. Chris and Julie Bennett have one of the most extraordinary stories of trying to listen and follow God's will for their lives while at the same time coming up against some of life's biggest challenges in their professional lives, in their health, and in their relationship with their kids. How do we as families hold it all together and keep "the main thing" the main thing? How do we battle loneliness, isolation and defeat from swallowing our kids? This was one of the Stigall's favorite conversations to date. It's fun, it's emotional, and it's thought provoking. Julie Bennett and her husband, Chris, are passionate about how to combat our loneliness epidemic, build deep connection, and fight for (not with!) the ones you love, no matter what challenges you face. In a time when so many suffer from isolation and it feels like developing authentic relationships and true belonging is harder than ever, Chris and Julie Bennett invite you into their story to discover why we were meant for togetherness and why it's worth facing any amount of hardship to keep our faith, families, and communities at the center of who we are. When Chris and Julie and their four kids moved from Norman, Oklahoma, to Los Angeles (which just happened to be one of the most disconnected cities in the United States), they knew they were setting out on a great adventure. They'd be leaving behind the church they had pastored, the comfort of their established community, and the familiarity of their daily routines, but the new city promised to bring some much-needed change. What they didn't expect was how this adventure—complicated by a cancer diagnosis, a relapse, and a pandemic—would challenge their notions of what it means to care for each other well, both as a biological family and as part of a broader community. Rebelliously hopeful, the couple will take you on their harrowing journey as they show how family—whether biological, adopted, or chosen—is the greatest risk you'll ever take, the best reward you'll ever gain, and an essential part of what makes us human. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/howdshedothat/support

I was absolutely captivated by this novel, the mystery, the diving, the letters...I loved the modern day timeline just as much as I did the 1920s and could not turn the pages fast enough. I did spend considerable time just gushing about hoe much I loved it, I have cut a lot of that out, and I also must apologise again for not hitting record sooner, the reason why it sounds like I just launched in is because I was gushing too much and failed to hit record..such a rookie mistake that I have no excuse for, please forgive me x To join our ReadA Book community head on over to www.readabook.com.au. Guest host Mary-Lou Stephens chats to fellow historical fiction author Julie Bennet about her second novel, The Lost Letters of Rose Carey. A former journalist Julie's novels are inspired by her experiences on stage as a child extra in the newly-opened Sydney Opera House (The Understudy) and now by her research into the life of 1920's movie icon Annette Kellerman. Set in 2024 and 1923 the dual timeline story is a stirring tale of mystery and romance about the 'million dollar mermaid'. Julie talks about the inspiration for the story and how she turned fact into fiction to create the character of Rose Carey. It's a great conversation between two talented writers of historical fiction. In the intro Pam reveals all (well, some) about her recent Next Chapter Writing Retreat. Normally we have a lot of SHE's on She Speaks Stories (it's in the name!) but we love it when we can have a HE come join in on the fun. Today's episode we have a HE and a SHE! Chris and Julie Bennett join us to share their story when they said yes to God before they knew what they were getting into, saw Him use bad for good and were enveloped in a community that allowed them to find permission for authenticity while Julie battled cancer. They have the specific struggles in their story, but even if you can't relate to all the variants, their story is one worth listening to because it's jam-packed with such applicable truths that will leave you not only encouraged but motivated. And just in case that description wasn't enough, here's a few teaser-quotes from our time with this incredible couple– If you've ever gone through something hard: “God doesn't waste our hard.” If you've ever had to step out on faith: “Faith doesn't feel heroic in the moment.” There were many many more. We hope you'll take the time to listen and that you are encouraged!

Chris Bennett is a pastor, storyteller, writer, and producer originally from Dallas, Texas. Julie Bennett is a writer, producer, speaker, and two-time cancer survivor from Edmond, Oklahoma. Together, Chris and Julie are the founders of Welcome Home Lifestyle, a production company which exists to create and promote content celebrating healthy, thriving families, friendships, and communities. Their love for people and entertainment led them and their four kids to uproot their lives and relocate from Oklahoma to Los Angeles in 2018. Shortly after moving to Los Angeles, Julie was diagnosed with breast cancer, which she bravely battled over the next three years. Faced with a cancer diagnosis, relapse, and worldwide pandemic, Chris and Julie would come to redefine the ways in which they care for others, both as a nuclear family and as part of a broader community. Both Julie and Chris are graduates of Baylor University and have spent the majority of their 23 years of marriage working in vocational ministry. Through overwhelming challenges, they have learned how to fight for the things that matter and devote themselves to helping others do the same. Alongside their passion for building belonging for others, they love nothing more than beach football, spontaneous road trips, and throwing a good party. Chris and Julie are also co-hosts of the Becoming Family podcast and are in the process of developing a docs-series where they explore the power and diversity of family through the stories of those who have experienced it. The Bennetts currently reside in Malibu, CA where Chris serves as lead pastor of Vintage Church Malibu. ABOUT THE BOOK Fighting for Family: The Relentless Pursuit of Building Belonging When Chris and Julie Bennett and their four kids decided to move from Norman, Oklahoma, to Los Angeles, they knew they were setting out on a great adventure. They'd be leaving behind the church Chris and Julie had pastored, the comfort of their community, and the familiarity of their daily routines, but the new city promised to bring some much-needed change. Most of all, they looked forward to connecting with others in one of the most disconnected cities in the United States. What they didn't expect was how this adventure – complicated by a cancer diagnosis, a relapse, and a worldwide pandemic – would challenge their notions of what it means to care for each other well, both as a nuclear family and as part of a broader community. It turns out that becoming family is stressful, messy, exhausting – and absolutely, totally worth fighting for. In a time when so many suffer from loneliness and it feels like developing authentic relationships is impossible, Chris and Julie invite you to step into their story to discover the fundamentals that lead to healthy, thriving families and friendships. You'll discover the power of embracing vulnerability, accepting imperfection, and extending forgiveness, while finding fulfillment through enforcing boundaries and honoring and serving others. In this engaging episode, Leslie welcomes Dr. Daniel Biddle from Genesis Apologetics to discuss their latest project all about Noah's Flood. Dr. Biddle shares insights into their ministry's focus on creating visually compelling content to reach today's youth immersed in digital media. He emphasizes the importance of providing solid, factual answers to questions about creation and evolution, particularly for students hungry for truth in a culture often skeptical of biblical accounts. The conversation delves into the significance of Genesis, specifically Noah's Flood, exploring its historical and theological implications. Dr. Biddle passionately connects the Flood narrative to modern-day events, echoing Jesus' warnings of a coming judgment akin to the days of Noah. Their forthcoming film promises to blend stunning visuals with a clear gospel message, inviting audiences to consider profound truths about creation, the Flood, and the future. With a commitment to making truth accessible, the film aims to spark conversations and deepen understanding among viewers of all ages. Meet The Guest:Daniel A. Biddle, Ph.D. is the President of Genesis Apologetics, Inc. a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to training youth pastors, parents, and students about Genesis, Creation, and the Flood. Daniel has authored/edited nine books and several articles on these topics, produced two films on Genesis and apologetics (and is working on a third on Noah's Flood, coming to theaters 2024), produced 100+ training videos on the Genesis Apologetics YouTube channel (with 176,000 subscribers, more than 20 million views, and content translated into 13 languages). Daniel has given hundreds of presentations to thousands of people on these topics. Daniel's professional background includes undergraduate and graduate work in theology and apologetics, training as a behavioral scientist (Ph.D. Industrial-Organizational Psychology), and 20 years' experience in expert witness consulting/testimony in state/federal cases involving scientific research methods, statistics, and psychometrics. Daniel and his wife Jenny live in Folsom, CA and enjoy their four adult children. Takeaways: Visual content is an effective way to engage young people and present complex theological concepts. Providing answers and evidence to support the biblical account of creation is crucial for young people's faith. The discovery of new evidence, such as bio-organic tissues in dinosaur bones, supports the biblical timeline and challenges evolutionary theories. The film connects Noah's Flood to the second coming of Christ, emphasizing the need for readiness and the hope found in Christ. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_ar0CZQSecPodcast Sponsors:Build a strong, healthy family and fight for (not with!) the ones you love, right where you are.Chris and Julie Bennett invite you to step into their story of leaving the Oklahoma church Chris had pastored, uprooting their family of six, and moving to Los Angeles—an adventure further complicated by a cancer diagnosis and worldwide pandemic. In this bonus episode Gary Mansfield speaks to Julie Bennett (@Julie_Bennett)Julie Bennett is a portrait painter living and working in London. Her bold, unapologetically confident portraits appropriate pop culture icons from the music industry and art world, creating contemporary homages to the likes of David Bowie, Elvis, Frida Kahlo, Boy George, Patti Smith, and Her Majesty The Queen.Defined as British Pop Art, her dripping wet, vibrant, colourful broad-brush marks give the appearance of canvases being fresh out of the studio. Working mostly in oil, led by the paint, she tries to capture the emotional charge of the individual, creating an iconic work of art.Bennett studied painting at Camberwell College of Arts where she crafted and explored the use of mark-making to convey her fascination with the human face and the immediacy of her paint handling.Bennett is driven by her lifelong obsession with music and art, spending her teenage years working at a record shop and after graduation, working as a graphic designer at some of the top UK music and celebrity magazines, She is a genuine fan of many of the celebrities she paints.Text taken from: https://www.degreeart.com/artists/julie-bennettFor more information on the work of Julie Bennett go to: https://www.juliebennett.co.ukTo Support this podcast from as little as £3 per month: www.patreon/ministryofartsIf you would like to promote your work, exhibition or any other creative project, please contact us at:Social Media: @ministryofartsorgEmail: ministryofartsorg@gmail.com Hosted on Acast. Julie Bennett has been married for 22 years to the love of her life. She is a mother of four really fun and inspiring kiddos. At the age of 19 she and her husband jumped into pastoral ministry and had no idea what they were doing, but learned along the way. They've been a part of church splits, church plants, church growth and the ups and downs of marriage. They've learned that people are messy and beautiful at the same time, and that choosing family along the way is always worth it. In 2018 they took a huge leap of faith and left the familiar in Norman, Oklahoma and moved to Los Angeles where she ended up going through two battles of breast cancer in three years. She is now currently in remission and living their dream in Malibu, California. Her husband is pastoring Vintage Church Malibu and they are developing media content that brings people together to experience the power of family. Their docu-series, Finding Family will be released sometime in 2023 along with their first book with our publisher Harper Horizon. For more information, go to www.marcyllecombs.com

Dr Julie Bennett, an epidemiologist from Otago University's Department of Public Health, says there is an urgent need for a national agency tasked with ensuring high indoor air quality in New Zealand. Covid has highlighted the quality of the air we breathe but regulations on the health impacts of indoor air quality are almost non-existent.
New research has found a strong link between strep skin infections and rheumatic fever. University of Otago researchers investigated how streptococcal infections of the throat and skin are the first steps of a "disease pathway" that ends in contracting the inflammatory disease. This research adds to other data about strep skin triggering rheumatic fever, which in turn can cause heart disease. Otago University Department of Public Health senior research fellow and co-author of the study Dr Julie Bennett spoke to Corin Dann.

"The Understudy" (Simon & Schuster) by Sydney-based author Julie Bennett is a brilliant new debut novel inspired by the Sydney Opera House and Julie's own childhood. A fascinating, page-turning glimpse into the underbelly of the theatre world, along with the rivalries, politics and machinations behind a history-making opera performance in 1973 Sydney. I am in complete awe of Julie's achievement with this magnificent novel and was delighted to have the chance to speak with her recently for the podcast.

I think there are stories we hear and wonder, “How would I survive that?” Loosing a child, surviving a natural disaster, loosing everything to a fire, and of course - cancer. Brett & I go way back with Chris and Julie to old college days. You'll even hear Chris reference a song he remembers me singing at our large group Bible Study. We didn't know each other, but knew of each other. Our lanes in ministry intersected here and there like kids bumping elbows between classes at school. I kept up with them through Instagram and knew they had left their church position and headed to LA for a new start, then…like a freight train hitting a stalled car on the track, Julie was hit with stage four breast cancer. She has beat it now, twice. And in the midst of loosing their church family in Oklahoma they found themselves wading through the swamp of cancer searching for healing. What they found was a new understanding of family. A miracle in the wasteland. Chris and Julie now host a podcast and are writing a book called “Finding Family”. I think you're going to be inspired and also challenged to accept what feels totally unacceptable so that a new way of living emerges. Cheers to all of us finding family in the most unexpected places.
In this episode we interview Chris and Julie Bennett from the Finding Family podcast. The Bennetts share their journey moving cross country to also persevering through cancer. Through it all they have stayed committed to their vows "In sickness and in health" and have walked out stronger than ever. Last weekend I was doing some cleaning in preparation for fall. As a business professor, I have thousands of books in plastic tubs. One of the books that distracted me from cleaning was the Franchise Times Guide to Selecting, Buying and Owning a Franchise. I was reminded of the interview Don and I did with Julie Bennett, author of the Franchise Times Guide to Selecting, Buying and Owning a Franchise. The book, which has been updated, is filled with practical advice from real-life individuals who made the jump into franchising. Some of Julie’s quotes made it into our Great Quotes in Franchising. We had fun on this interview. In part two, we will play a clip from our popular Great Quotes in Franchising podcast.
There are a lot of RV myths out there and one big one is that you can’t boondock in a big rig. This week, we dispel that bit of fake news by introducing you to two couples who not only boondock in big RVs, but both are thriving on it! Jason and Rae Miller are known as the Getaway Couple on their blog and YouTube community and they travel and boondock regularly in a huge Fifth Wheel. Mark and Julie Bennett, who publish the RV Love channel and blog and are authors of a very popular book on RVing, boondock in a huge Class A motorhome. We hear from both couples this week as they tell you about boondocking in a big rig, what are the challenges and more importantly just how they get those giant RVs down the road and off the grid. Both couples will teach you a lot! Plus, we have RV News of the week, your RV Lifestyle questions and a great off the beaten path report from the Burketts. You can listen to this episode of the Podcast on your favorite app or right below in the audio player. The surcharge works out to about a 30 percent price hike, making a full-service campsite cost $42 for out-of-state residents (compared to the previous $33). Cost of a tent site will increase to $23 from $19 a night. The state hopes to raise $500,000 from the new fees to make up for lost revenue from when the campgrounds were closed earlier this year because of COVID-19. It also hopes to encourage people to stay closer to home. The surcharge will be applied to new reservations and first-come, first-served campers and will remain in place for the rest of this year. June RV and towable camper sales break the record Well, most of the numbers are in, and now it is official: More Americans than ever are giving the RV Lifestyle a try. The RV industry recorded the best sales month EVER last June, with a 16.5% increase over last year’s 41,699 total. And that doesn't even include numbers from the states of Arizona, Colorado, Maryland, Missouri, Oregon and Vermont. Americans are really buying RVs and towables. The numbers support what we have been hearing for months. More and more people are camping as a result of COVID-19. To see more of what we've reported about camping changes this year click here. Peak viewing of the Perseid meteor showers will be Tuesday and Wednesday- don't miss it! The annual Perseid meteor shower is expected to peak this week, and if you can get outside to watch, you don't want to miss it! Up to 100 shooting stars can be seen per hour during its peak. It should be visible all this week. A good strategy is to look up as late in the evening as possible, but before moon rises. The Perseid meteor show is visible every year when the earth drifts through a debris cloud left from a comet. To learn more click here or here. Vandals spray painting campers, campground signs with messages of "COVID-19" and "Go home" in British Columbia We saw reports last week out of British Columbia of people vandalizing camping trailers with the words "no camping" and "COVID-10". About two weeks ago a story was in the news from North Island Campground where someone spray painted "Go home" on a campground sign. In the latest report, the camping trailer targeted was not even being used. The border between Canada and America is closed for non-essential travel, like camping, and while it is possible to "sneak" in, we wanted to remind you again that not every community wants out-of-owners visitors. Forest River makes big strides with Owner’s Manuals Flagstaff/Rockwood Territory Manager Anthony Yoder shares how Forest River has made huge strides for its owners in the way of Owner’s Manuals and getting information to their Owners that is specific to the make and model of each RV they manufacture. Anthony explains why it’s important for consumers to take the time to ask the proper questions BEFORE making a purchase of any RV. Specifically, he says that many of the quality components and construction techniques that his plant utilizes on every RV manufactured are not apparent to the naked eye. Yet these quality materials and techniques can add many years of solid use from its owners in this Ask the Manufacturer #2018. On this episode of The Hungry Gardener we spoke to Julie Bennett, a favourite gardener of mine, with my dream job. Julie is the kitchen gardener for Montalto Estate on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. The estate is over 50 acres, with 30 acres under vine, and 3 acres of produce gardens. It has a fabulous restaurant and an incredible amount of open space, trees, gardens and artworks spread over the beautiful property. We recorded on the fly during a slow roving tour of the grounds, so expect some wildlife interruptions, wind gusts, tractors, and gravelly footsteps throughout, hopefully it adds some spice to the ‘in the moment' energy of our warm and wide ranging conversation.

That may be great for many… but it is not so great for many more. This week, we talk about what they DON’T tell you about fulltiming. Coming up in the interview of the week, you’ll meet our friends Marc and Julie Bennett, known as RV Love… and we’ll have a candid conversation about just why the fulltime RV life is NOT for everyone. Show Notes for Episode #253 July 31, 2019 of The RV Podcast; WHAT MIKE AND JENNIFER ARE UP TO THIS WEEK This has been a special week for us as we’ve just released the fifth in our series of Seven Day Adventure Guides for RVers. This one is our Seven Day Adventure Guide to the Adirondacks, and it is 96 pages long and jammed packed with places to go and things to see in this amazing park. The Adirondacks is a truly special place. It is greater in size than Yellowstone, Everglades, Glacier, and Grand Canyon National Parks combined. Created by New York in 1892, it is a constitutionally protected “Forever Wild” area and contains 85% of all wilderness in the eastern United States. We provide a suggested route and itinerary, links to multiple campgrounds and boondocking spots, and the best spots to see along the way. You can get more info on it at https://rvlifestyle.com/adk It’s been a busy week of RV mods and adding some accessories and gadgets. We're headed to Holland MI to even do some more at an RV dealer there. After Holland we’re headed to Lake Erie and Lakeside Chatauqua, an awesome resort and summer gathering place. Then we’re heading to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, south of Cleveland. We also want to give a shoutout to our reviewer of the week…Elf1 who left us this wonderful five-star review on iTunes: “Love this podcast. Mike and Jennifer provide a lot of entertainment and information. Don't know how I missed finding this podcast earlier. Very useful information no matter what type of RV you have or like me are thinking of buying. Thanks so much for taking the time to produce such a fine podcast.” Thank you, Elf1. We so appreciate those kind words and your review. And we invite you dear listener, to do the same. Please leave us a review and a rating on iTunes or Sticker or whatever app you listen to us on. We so appreciate the feedback and we read every one! RV LIFESTYLE NEWS OF THE WEEK JENNIFER National Park Rangers spend most of their time managing traffic, making speeding stops, story says Another interesting story on America's National Parks came out in USA Today last week, this one showing park rangers spend more time managing traffic and specifically making speeding stops than any other activity. The reason they do this is speeding kills wildlife, and many tourists in the national parks speed, putting wildlife at risk. Also car crashes are one of the leading causes of human death in the parks. So if you try to speed this summer in a national park, don't be surprised if you get a ticket! MIKE High water levels leading to increase in drownings this summer in Lake Michigan In the past week-plus I've seen news stories of at least five drownings in Lake Michigan, often visitors to state parks, enjoying time outdoors with their families, when a dip in the water turns tragic. This weekend there was a story of a man who drowned near Michigan's Holland State Park, another in Indiana Dunes State Park, another at Michigan's Ludington State Park, and a man and a 14 year old girl also drowned near Ludington State park in separate incidents a week before that. I don't know if I can recall hearing about so many drownings in such a short period of time. Water levels are reported to be high, creating hazardous conditions. Lake Michigan touts some of the country's most gorgeous fresh water beaches. If you are out camping this summer along Lake Michigan,

This Week in Travel - Travel News Podcast. Regular hosts Gary Arndt, Jen Leo and Chris Christensen are joined by this week's guest: Marc Bennett and Julie Bennett from rvlove.com authors of the book Living the RV Life: Your Ultimate Guide to Life on the Road as we talk about full time RV living (interview starts at 28:53 after the news):
The media is a powerful tool to bring advice to everyone and establish yourself as a thought leader - but how do you make yourself heard? Learn how to become more involved with the media and what you should be doing to manage your brands reputation in the public eye, with Julie Bennett and Fiona Harris from financial services public relations company 64 Media.
Marc and Julie Bennett decided their life needed a change - a big one. So they sold their home, bought an RV and now live life full time on the road. They like to say they moved into an RV to travel, work and live a more meaningful life – rich with experiences instead of things. After a little over a year, they have no regrets. They've weathered the ups and downs and settled in as location independent professionals. Their mission is to travel, love and be happy. They believe there is always a way to create the life you truly want. Their motto - sometimes it just takes an open mind, creative thinking, some hard work (or not), a spot of planning, patience, a good dose of courage, and of course – the willingness to face your fears, take a risk and just GO FOR IT! I talk to Julie about how they got to this place - individually, and as a couple - to do something most people only dream about.
