WORST. COMIC. PODCAST. EVER!

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 17, 2021 44:49

On this week's episode of the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER!, we are entering the nerd trifecta over the next three days. Seriously, forget the basketball March Madness because the geek March Madness is awesome! For Wednesday, we have New Comic Book Day, which should be a standing holiday every week. A lot of great books coming out this week. In fact, we have our Pick 3 choices, sponsored by Clint's Comics, where we fall into our predictable habits of Cullen choosing an Image book, John choosing a DC book, and Jerry choosing a Marvel book. For Thursday, we get Zack Snyder's Justice League on HBOMax. Clocking in at just over four hours, this remastered film will leave many people talking about it throughout the weekend. Our recommendation is to give it a watch and go in with an open mind. Who knows, you might end up loving it! For Friday, we get the start of the Falcon and the Winter Soldier series on Disney+. After the success of WandaVision, we are sure a lot of people will be checking this out. We would love to hear your comments on the show. Let us know what you’ve been reading or watching this week. Contact us on our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or email. We want to hear from you! As always, we are the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! and we hope you enjoy the show. The Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! is proudly sponsored by Clint’s Comics. Clint’s is located at 3941 Main in Kansas City, Missouri, and is open Monday through Saturday. Whether it is new comics, trade paperbacks, action figures, statues, posters, or T-shirts, the friendly and knowledgeable staff can help you find whatever it is that you need. You should also know that Clint’s Comics has the most extensive collection of back issues in the metro area. If you need to find a particular book to finish the run of a title, head on down to Clint’s or check out their website at clintscomics.com. Tell them that the Worst. Comic. Podcast. EVER! sent you.

Locked On Penguins - Daily Podcast On The Pittsburgh Penguins

For Thursday, we have a very special episode of Locked On Penguins as Chad and Eddie of the 412 Sports Talk join Hunter to talk all about the Penguins. They discuss Kris Letang and why so many fans find him to be so polarizing, Mike Matheson, and the chaos that's surrounded him this season, plus some goalie talk as Tristan Jarry continues to be outstanding. They also discuss toughness, as Eddie thinks the Penguins should have a player who comes in and deters a player like Tom Wilson, while Chad and Hunter disagree. All that, plus so much more, on this episode of Locked On Penguins. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! BetOnline AG There is only 1 place that has you covered and 1 place we trust. Betonline.ag! Note: BPR is on tape for the holidays. For Thursday’s program, we brought you some of our favorite conversations from the not-too distant past. Today on Boston Public Radio: Bishop Michael Curry joins us to preach the power of love in dark times, in a conversation sparked by his new book "Love Is the Way: Holding Onto Hope In Troubling Times.” Michael Norton talks about the science behind why humans have such difficulty enjoying leisure time. Norton is the Harold M. Brierley Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, and his latest book is "Happy Money: The Science Of Smarter Spending.” Bill Buford discussed differences between attitudes around restaurant dining in France and the U.S., in a conversation about his new book, "Dirt: Adventure In Lyon As A Chef In Training, Father, And Sleuth Looking For The Secret Of French Cooking.” Alan Alda talked about the joy of creating his new interview podcast, and a recent (pre-pandemic) trip he made with BPR contributor Sy Montgomery to the New England Aquarium. Alan Alda is an actor, and hosts the podcast "Clear + Vivid With Alan Alda." Sy Montgomery discussed her book "Condor Comeback," about an ongoing conservation effort to bring the California Condor back from the brink of extinction. Sy Montgomery is a journalist, naturalist, whose latest book is "Becoming A Good Creature.” Rick Steves talked about keeping our travel dreams alive during the coronavirus pandemic. Steves is an author, television and radio host, and the owner of “Rick Steves' Europe” tour group. You can catch his television show, "Rick Steves’ Europe," weeknights at 7:30 p.m. on GBH 2 and his radio show, “Travel With Rick Steves,” Sundays at 4 p.m. on GBH. Richard Blanco joined us for another edition of "Village Voice." Blanco is the fifth presidential inaugural poet in U.S. history. His new book, "How To Love A Country,” deals with various socio-political issues that shadow America.

This week, I have been giving you some tips to become better at giving presentations or, it can be called, “public speaking.” This is an art form that is learned. Very few people are “born” public speakers. Even those who are naturally comfortable in a public setting can learn a thing or two to become better.Monday, I emphasized on “Knowing your topic.” On Tuesday, I discussed the need to “Know Your Audience.” On Wednesday, I talked about a very effective technique that I have used (and taught others to use) in order to control our nerves – avoid making eye contact! For Thursday, we talked about the need to PRACTICE! For Thursday's Q&A session, Alex discusses various ways you can get your marketing to stand out. He talks about some of the strategies he personally uses to get leads and also talks on why the follow up process is responsible for almost 70-80% of his deals. Listen in for more! Key Takeaways: On Monday's show, Alex mentioned that 70% of his deals come from the followup. On this week's Q&A show, Alex will be doing a deep dive on the followup process. Alex recommends that you read all of Dan Kennedy's books. Most people are walking around in a trance and your marketing needs to snap them out of it. You don't ask to marry someone on the first date. Letters don't have the same novelty these days and homeowners are bored of them too. Alex used Cris Chico's approach and he got close to a 25% response rate. What does Alex's marketing system look like? 70-80% of Cris's deals come from direct-mail marketing. There's a fine balance between how you space out your marketing resources. You want 20% of your efforts to generate 80% of your results. How does Alex set up his direct-mail system? Alex takes 20% of every deal and puts it back in his marketing budget. One of the things that separates Alex from his competitors is that he is always marketing. Be consistent with your marketing and your campaigns.   Mentioned in This Episode: www.flipempire.com/ www.flipempire.com/question/ The Ultimate Sales Letter by Dan S.
