What do the Night King, Arya Stark, 2 dragons have in common, besides being on Game of Thrones that is. They all get their motion or moves in Arya's case from my guest this week, MoCap actor, and stuntman, Jarrell Hall returns to Uncontained this week. Jarrell was first on the show back on episode 58, and has been busy since. If you watched HBO's Game Of Thrones you have seen his work. He did MoCap for 2 of the 3 dragons including the one that melted the Iron Throne, a number of white walkers, and developed a fight package for Arya Stark. You can also catch him in John Wick 3. We talk about those project and more that he is working on. We talk about Keanu Reeves, Brie Larson, Gal Gadot and how a fight between Brie and Gal would play out. This is definitely a fun interview that you don't wanna miss! Okay, to be clear, I am saying if you have been been watching Game of Thrones, then you need to watch the ending. If you have not watched Game of Thrones, watch the ending. If you are a fan, you’ll scratch your head wondering why the ending was so… rushed. You’re not going to like how it ends. The ending is not subpar. No, everything about this series is polished, beautiful and… real. But the ending… no, Home Box Office totally rushed this one. In short, the fans were betrayed… and rewarded at the same time.At its heart, Game of Thrones is a political drama, designed to play off of the political realities of Westeros - which is the fictional land where all of these fictional people live. One of the reason Thrones is so appealing is because the show manages to establish a character and then let that characters ambition and motives play out and clash against everyone else. Good feelings be dammed. Ned Stark doesn’t just die because he’s too honest, he dies against your wishes. The victims along the way aren’t strategic character wipeouts because fans don’t like them, they’re victims of circumstance, greed and chance. But Season 8 abandons this in favor of sloppy writing and ignores the character development the writers spent almost a decade perfecting. Sorry HBO, I love you, but this didn’t work. Guess when you don’t have source materials, even the biggest plot twists come across as opportunistic. So what I am saying is watch this final season of Thrones. Grit your teeth and let your brain relax. Don’t think politics, just think fantasy dragons. You just aren’t going to enjoy the shallowness of the decision making by any means, and that’s okay. Game of Thrones is fun, there are dragons and we finally get to see who is left standing in the end. Watch. But Carefully. As someone who loves animation and cartooning this was epic!Love and Death and Robots is a collection of animated short stories that span various genres including science fiction, fantasy, horror and comedy. What I really loved about it was every episode was a different animation style, so many different flavors. Some of the show featured 3D animation, others had cell animation where the characters felt hand drawn. The stories were also all over the place. You had underground beast fights, Dracula, life or death struggles in space, even one about yogurt taking over the world. Yeah yogurt… but not Greek Yogurt. My favorite episode was “Ice Age” which is a mix of live action and animation. It starred Topher Grace and Mary Elizabeth Winstead who move into this old apartment with an antique fridge. They defrost it and find an entire civilization inside. Every time they open the fridge the people have jumped in time. You get prehistoric, industrial age, the future and a city on the brink of destruction. That’s clever. Each episode will either make you laugh, give you something to ponder over or just keep you entertained. You’re not going to like every episode, but that’s life right?Note this is not for children. This is definitely some adult themes and animation. Watch.

Winter has arrived. The end of a pop culture era is here with the final episode of HBO’s Game of Thrones airing on Sunday. Fans of the show express their fandom in many different ways, but none quite like those at Georgia Tech.On today’s show, we discuss an interactive data visualization that analyzes the color and dialogue in every single minute of every single episode of the first six seasons of the hugely popular television fantasy show based on the book series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. Host Joshua Preston talks with Fred Hohman, Ph.D. student in computational science and engineering and computer science, one of the creators of the data visualization that is aptly named "A Viz and Ice and Fire." It’s an homage to the show that you just might geek out over as you prepare for Sunday’s finale.RELATED LINKS:Explore "A Viz of Ice and Fire - Summarizing Entertainment Video Using Color and Dialogue": https://fredhohman.com/a-viz-of-ice-and-fire/Explore the data:https://github.com/fredhohman/a-viz-of-ice-and-fireMore Georgia Tech love for Game of Thrones:https://www.news.gatech.edu/features/science-ice-and-fire>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>CREDITS:Podcast produced and hosted by Joshua Preston (Contact: jpreston@cc.gatech.edu)Audio engineering by Tim TrentMusic from https://filmmusic.io:"Overriding Concern" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com)Licence: CC BY (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/)Music from https://filmmusic.io:"Rocket" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com)Licence: CC BY (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/)

Spooky seasonal greetings to you all. Hope you're all doing alright. This week on the podcast we are blessed with the company of artistic polymath Jacob Anderson; nom de plume Raleigh Ritchie. You'll have seen Jacob as Grey Worm in HBO's Game Of Thrones, alongside previous TSP guests on Broadchurch, in BBC2's Episodes, and in loads of theatrical productions. As Raleigh Ritchie, Jacob recently put out the frankly brilliant single Time In A Tree which if you haven't heard his music before is as good a place as any to start. Jacob is an absolute treasure. Candid and warm and humble. This episode captures him in a self-reflective mood as he shares his struggles, strifes and hopes.
