A podcast addition to Geeky Stoics“Don't seek for everything to happen as you wish it would, but rather wish that everything happens as it actually will—then your life will flow well”- Epictetus, Enchiridion, 8.Grey Worm looks at Missandei, with a profound seriousness on his face but a sort of sadness in his eyes. He has not just accepted what happened to him, but he has chosen something akin to gratitude.“If the masters never cut me, I never am Unsullied. I never stand in the Plaza of Pride when Daenerys Stormborn orders us to kill the masters. I never am chosen to lead the Unsullied. I never meet Missandei from the island of Naath.”Read more in the article below This is a public episode. Grey Worm himself aka Interview With The Vampire's Louis de Pointe du Lac joins us on the show to chat all things undead now that the show has arrived in its entirety on BBC iPlayer. Elsewhere on the pod, there's an unusual amount to toe-sucking discussion as we review Fellow Travelers on Paramount+. Kay gets the willies from spooktacular documentary The Enfield Poltergeist on Apple, and we take a trip down Lenny Henry's memory lane in Three Little Birds on ITV. Elsewhere, Boyd works his way through the alphabet of shows (slowly), James bangs on about Bosch (you thought you'd dodged this last week - you were wrong), and all three muse on a conundrum that would see them forsake their favourite shows for good.
This week on Game of Groans, Emily and Kate talk about Episode 4 of Season 6, Book of the Stranger. They discuss fantasy Australia, crafting, Carrie Underwood vibes, Jorah being a sloppy bitch, the Lion King and Bluey. After AMC acquired the rights to Anne Rice's major literary works in 2020, the network tasked producer Mark Johnson (“Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul”) to oversee its ambitious new project of making shows out of the author's 18 supernatural novels. First is “Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire” on AMC+, telling the love story of two vampires, Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) and Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) in early 20th century New Orleans. For the more sensual scenes, an intimacy coordinator was hired. “They make all of us feel just what they're supposed to do, get more comfortable,” Johnson says, “then it's up to wonderful actors who make it all seem ad lib, spontaneous.” For Anderson, who played Grey Worm on the HBO series “Game of Thrones,” having an intimacy director to guide his character's more sizzling sequences has been an important asset. “[Johnson and I] were talking about demystifying the idea of storytelling as being just purely magic and in the moment and all about feeling, but I think when it comes to intimate scenes, you can't do that,” he says, “there's things that can really get into your head if you don't prepare properly.” IWTV's Executive Producer, Johnson, and actor, Anderson, discuss the making of the new AMC series with Kim Masters. But first, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav laid off about a quarter of the company's television division staff this week. What does this mean for the company's future? Matt Belloni discusses with Lucas Shaw.

We've reached the point of no return with this week's episode, Season 5, Episode 4 entitled "Sons of the Harpy." This is the episode where a lot of stupid stuff happens with little to no return, because unlike last week's episode where the story was actually pretty engaging despite the lack of payoff, here we're provided with stupid moment after stupid moment with little in-between to tie it all together. It's the real beginning to me of Benioff & Weiss' downfall with their critical reception, because this is the first of a series of episodes that are just poorly written with very little to actually excuse or justify it. Cersei enacts the plan to take over the city by restoring the Faith Militant, completely confusing poor Tommen & us the audience who are baffled by Cersei's lack of foresight as to the Sparrow's future actions. Melisandre attempts to seduce Jon with poor results, Tyrion realizes Jorah kidnapped him for nothing since they're both going to the same place, Jaime & Bronn arrive in Dorne, we're introduced to the Sand Snakes and Sansa says goodbye to Littlefinger, who conveniently tells her that Stannis is marching on Winterfell. We also get the next worst action sequence with the Sons of the Harpy's ambush of Grey Worm's troupe of Unsullied, wherein they proceed to kill everyone of them but Grey Worm, who has now inherited Ramsay Bolton's plot armor from last season. It unfortunately doesn't extend to Ser Barristan though, who meets his tragic end this episode attempting to help Grey Worm and his soldiers, a death that was so stupid even the actor who played Ser Barristan, Ian McElhinney, voiced his complaints with how he thought the character's death was poorly thought out. A smaller, more intimate set up episode, but an incredible one to say the least. Bryan Cogman returns to write the episode that definitely set the precedent for deviating the most from the books as far as character motivations go. Daenerys takes over Meereen with a cool maneuver from Grey Worm. Jon arranges to take a party north of the wall to kill the Night's Watch mutineers at Craster's, who also happen to have captured Bran. In King's Landing, Jaime is being torn in every direction between his love for both his siblings, and relents by sending Brienne to find Sansa and keep her safe. Olenna & Littlefinger both reveal their parts in Joffrey's death to Margaery & Sansa, and we also get out introduction to the Night King. This week, it's time for Tyrion's trial-by-combat, as The Mountain and The Viper face off in a battle for the ages. Today is not the day Oberyn dies, erm, apparently. Elsewhere, Reek is assuming his old identity while Ramsay is solving his daddy issues. In Meereen, Grey Worm and Missandei are bonding over their shared history, allowing Grey Worm to finally break free from the Killbot Factory, but there's disappointment in the air as Ser Jorah's years of spying are exposed. Welcome back to Popcorn Chats! This week, Katie and Michae are back with another ranking episode; this time with characters from one of their favorite shows, Game of Thrones. From God level characters, to bottom of the barrel trash, they rank the folks of Westeros and defend their positions on those rankings. While in agreement with quite a few, there are some key characters that divide them, including one of the main characters that they saved to debate at the end of the episode (spoiler alert: it’s the bastard). Katie shares why she has such a soft spot for Lord Varys, which if you listened to the Hunger Games episode, you might have an idea as to why that is. They also talk about why the women in this show reign supreme over all others with their unmatched power, the Achilles heel of all men on the show, and Michae’s love for Grey Worm. And what do Petyr Baelish and Mr. Bates from Freaky Friday have in common? Well, Katie is gonna tell you. Also, is it just Katie and Michae, or is the Night King kinda sexy? Halloween has come and gone, Alex is no longer a metaphorical ghost to the world, and the sounds of trick-or-treaters have been replaced with the roar of leaf blowers. It's time to get back to business. This week we had the extreme pleasure of chatting with Jason who also goes by the moniker "Chocolate Ninja Cosplay." He's been cosplaying since 2014 and has over 20 years of martial arts experience to go along with it. With characters such as Doomfist, Grey Worm, Deadshot, and the most amazing Dr. Facilier you'll ever see, Jason has been killing the cosplay game with no signs of slowing down. He has a relentless work ethic and an attitude that rivals most motivational speakers. Long story short, talking with Jason was an honor and we're pumped to share our conversation with you all. After trashing King's Landing and murdering all the innocent townsfolk they could get their blades into, the Unsullied execute captured soldiers. Tyrion finds his siblings dead, conveniently toward the top of a pile of rubble. Daenerys throws a Nuremberg Rally. Tyrion says fuck this and is thrown in jail. Arya and Tyrion each essentially tell Jon that he should kill his girlfriend. Jon finds Daenerys admiring the Iron Throne and tenderly, sadly kills her. Drogon throws a fit, torches the Iron Throne then carries Daenerys' body away. The few remaining "lords" convene and crown Bran Stark the new King for some reason. Sansa manages to secede the North. Tyrion becomes Hand again. Jon has to return to the Night's Watch to mollify Grey Worm, which everyone seems to think is fine. Grey Worm takes Dany's Horde back to the sea and leaves Westeros forever. The new small council meets for the first time, comprised of Tyrion, Brienne, Bronn, Davos, and Sam. Podrick is knighted. Sansa is crowned Queen in the North. Arya is Magellan. Jon and Ghost trudge north with the Wildlings. The end.

Raleigh Ritchie is the musical alias of Jacob Anderson, a musician and actor who’s probably best known for playing the character Grey Worm on Game of Thrones. Raleigh Ritchie released his first album in 2016, and he’s put out a handful of EPs. We are still meeting new characters and arriving at new locations in the 3rd and 4th episodes of season 5 on Game of Thrones. Turns out adapting two giant books into one season of TV means you have to pile it on and press it down. This week it's the Sand Snakes as Jaime and Bronn have a goofy fight on the beach, and Cersei wades through dank alleys to locate the High Sparrow. At the Wall, Jon says "no" to any funny business and in Meereen, Barristan and Grey Worm are...aw well look at the time. To be continued, I guess!
Game of Thrones season 7 hits its stride with episode 3, and Kate and Dan are here to take back all the mean things they said about director Mark "M'lord" Mylod last time. Listen in for talk about Sansa's possible chain wallet, how Sam earned 50 points for Gryffindor, and how Grey Worm broke into the Bellagio, er, Casterly Rock, plus much more!

This week's episode of Game of Thrones was season 5's most action-packed installment yet, thanks to the rise of the Faith Militant and the growing threat of the Sons of the Harpy. Joining us in our in-depth discussion of the events that took place is We Got This Covered writer Sam Woolf, who has some of his own interesting theories and reactions to this week's shocking cliffhanger. In case you missed it, “Sons of the Harpy” ramped up the events in King's Landing when Cersei decided to arm the Faith Militant and name the High Sparrow the High Septon of the realm. She taunted Margery by having the Sparrows arrest Loras Tyrell for crimes against the gods and left the newly crowned King Tommen to pick up the pieces. While all hell broke loose in the capital, Jamie and Bronn landed in Dorne and continued their suicide rescue mission for Princess Myrcella. The Dornish storyline also brought us our first look at Oberyn's bastards, known as the Sand Snakes, and we try to decide if they live up to his legend. In northern Westeros, Jon Snow survived Melissandre's first seduction attempt while Stannis finally revealed the softer side of his hardened heart. He continues to be one of the most controversial characters on the show and we weigh in on the merit of his methods, intentions and recently discovered love for his daughter. Finally, we round out this week's exciting discussion by talking about the climactic skirmish between Greyworm, Barristan Selmy and a band of harpies that had us clamoring for more. Will Barristan pull out of the battle in one piece, or have we seen the last of the greatest living night in Westeros? Tune into the latest episode of The Cast Beyond The Wall to find out!
