We began this journey called #inthemourning with a conversation about Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War. It prompted a months-long exploration about learning how to lose as we discussed each episode of HBO's The Leftovers and more than a dozen films which dealt with ghost stories, paradigm shifts, and apocalypses. Now, in this coda, we return again to the MCU for a discussion about AVENGER'S: ENDGAME. And while the expected nerd talk about favorite MCU films and moments takes place (including a listener-crafted Watchin'/Readin'/Listenin' tune that you have to hear to believe) what then emerges is a vulnerable and hope-filled declaration that perhaps even after the worst has happened, our stories have another chapter to unfold."...weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning." Psalm 30:5bWe have been and remain "in the mourning" but even as we continue to navigate these challenging times together, we have hope that even the inevitable will not have the final word. We are joined once again by our good friend Ian Olson as we assemble to discuss MARVEL'S AVENGERS: ENDGAME.We hope you'll join us and we hope you enjoy it. Most of all, we hope it encourages you as it did for us.We love you 3000.6:42 - A brief bit of Business Time9:38 - Whatcha Watchin' / Readin' Listenin' To23:38 - Favorite MCU Films50:11 - Favorite Scenes or Moments in the MCU Films1:06:17 - Favorite Moments in Avengers: Endgame (excluding the final battle)1:34:30 - Avengers... In episode 134, "Friendgame", Tony & Eddie finally get around to talking about the culmination of ten years of Marvel story building. You guessed it, it's Marvel's Avengers: Endgame, folks. There's a lot to digest in this three hour behemoth. There's drama, comedy, some thrills for sure - and call back after call back after call back. And Eddie loved them all. This movie had a lofty goal. Paying homage to a decade of content is incredibly difficult. Converging so many paths into one story line. Giving multiple larger than life characters enough screen time to make it feel right. It's all an incredible feat really - and Endgame does it competently to say the least. This week the boys also tried some big beers to match up with this big movie. Eddie sampled a wine barrel aged version of Ommegang's Three Philosophers and Tony sampled a Platform beer called Elevated Hop Ramble. Both pack a bunch but in very different ways. If you like Belgians or highly hopped brews - check this episode out for full reviews.
Marvel's Avengers Endgame beautifully wrapped up 11 years of cinematic storytelling. But it raised some questions of its own. We discuss the movie and try to answer some of the burning questions that the movie left behind.

Sorry for the late upload listeners! Allen made a major move across three states so we took a short break for him to get him settled! Enjoy this free bonus episode of our review of Marvel's Avengers: Endgame! -------------------------------------------------------- In 1997, Steven Spielberg's production company Amblin Entertainment in conjunction Marvel Comics imprint Malibu Comics (so yes technically this is a Marvel movie)--brought the secret government UFO organization known as the Men in Black to the big screen. Creating a surprising pairing between Will Smith (fresh off The Fresh Prince of Bel-Aire) and Tommy Lee-Jones (fresh off his Oscar win for The Fugitive)--the duo appealed to young and old alike for an action packed, comedy light years ahead of the competition at the summer box office. The film was a surprise hit, grossing over half-a-billion dollars. Not surprisingly, the film has remained in the cultural zeitgeist with even the most modest film watcher having heard of "men in black." Listeners, you may be shocked to hear this is Corbin and Allen's firs time watching the franchise all the way through! So does Men in Black still hold up 22 years later (remember CGI was iffy back then!). Does it still feature enough laughs to remain relevant? Join Corbin and Allen as they discuss Men In Black! Question after the show: What is your memory of seeing this film for the first time? Also, does Men in Black still contain enough intrigue for you to see the upcoming Men in Black: International? Comment below! Subscribe to the podcast so you won't miss our upcoming review of Men in Black II and MIB3 just in time for Men in Black: International this summer! There's still time to catch up on our previous M Night Shyamalan reviews! We'll be returning to Shyamalan's reviews in 2 weeks with Lady in the Water (the trailers of which scared Corbin silly when he was a kid!)
