What do you do if your child does not know God? Today we are unpacking the Kid-God line and as parents, we get the first and deepest opportunity to show our kids Jesus BUT it is not up to us to make the decision for them. “What we want is for our kids to KNOW God, not just know about him - but really really know Him for themselves.” - Suz Main things we discuss: A child's faith timeline Create space for child to build their own relationship with God How God uses the fear of our kids not knowing Him Selling Jesus to our kids – we MUST! “God wants your children to know Him MORE than you do! When we believe this, we get to partner with God and work within HIS plan for our child's faith.” - Suz This episode unpacks practical ways for you to sell Jesus to your kids without forcing a relationship on them – or worse – expecting and judging our kids into knowing God. Following Jesus is relational and when we focus on this aspect of Christianity, our kids are attracted to it. Even in middle school and on, they are wired and designed for relationships. When you show them a loving, present, gracious God – they will want to know more! A few ways to invest in the Kid-God relational line: Create space for curiosity Get on your knees and pray against the enemy Share your testimony and why you love following God NEVER GIVE UP Lastly, we unpack the ALIVE method. This is a CCF acronym we fully explain in our Building Family Relationships Guide. If you want to learn more about the ALIVE method, buy the guides today! Yeshua the Firstborn: Colossians Chapter 1 - English and Spanish. Colossians chapter 1 refers twice to Yeshua as the firstborn. Does this passage teach that He was created? Does it use the term "firstborn" to show His limitations? Quite the opposite. The term is used to give Him MORE honor. This is a rebroadcast of a February 18, 2021 sermon from our archives. Yeshua el Primogénito: Colosenses Capítulo 1 - Inglés y Español. In this week's episode of Into the Pray, we speak with Dave Brennan of Brephos, a Christian (not Catholic) organisation heralding the plight of unborn babies. (Correction to the podcast: “Brephos” is the Greek word for “baby” not “breath”).“They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons; they poured out innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was polluted with blood. ..Then the anger of the LORD was kindled against his people, and he abhorred his heritage.” (Psalm 106: 37-38, 40).Dave helps us with the conviction that we all need be having conversations about this in an ongoing, increasing way and, as such, a new weekly episode of this podcast will now be dedicated to this worthy conversation. (More info to follow).Suffice to say, we need much more Christian action and much less Christian apathy/ignorance.How many people were killed during WW1 and WW2, combined? Do you know? Do you know how many people were killed in the last century through the abhorrence of abortion? As Dave begins to help us all to understand, this issue of babies being killed on an industrial scale is nothing short of "normalised" genocide and yet tantamount to many, many in our sick society today with merely personal hygiene choices - after all, "It's MY body!", right? We will all very soon stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ with this incomparable injustice firmly in His view - what will He say to us; what will we say to Him? More information regarding Dave Brennan & Brephos here, as well as the wider work of CBRUK here. As well as our regular Friday episodes (featuring guests/book reviews etc) we also have a dedicated Sunday morning session for solid biblical teaching. As we continue to embark on this "Work for Reformers" we are increasingly finding ourselves out of our depth in terms of space, capacity and time. Therefore, if you're interested in helping to regularly support what we're doing, please consider regular giving here. Thank you.Come, Lord!in JesusNick & Mairi xx
Today’s episode is with fellow podcaster, author, speaker, and just all around champion of living an abundant life, Jessica Hottle. Jessica shares with me the story that fuels her passion for women to know the truth about who God is and who He made them to be, because she grew up not knowing those truths at all. In her early adulthood, the Lord began a process of helping her understand the gift of a resurrected life that brings healing and freedom, and helped her to know her worth. She also shares how the Lord brought people along her path to speak life into her as she grew in her faith and redefined what it meant to love and be loved. “We come to know the Father and our worth when we know what His word says,” is one thing Jess shared in this conversation that stuck with me. While that sounds like something so simple, it's the simple things we lose sight of first when we’re in crisis. And whether your life has returned to some sort of semi-normal rhythm, or whether you are still trying to find purchase in a sea of uncertainty, we are all working through the effects of covid on what we know is true about our worth, how we process hard things, and so much more. I loved how Jess talks about the power of coming to know what God says is true, and the significance in her life in pursuing relationships that get down to the heart of the matter and speak life to her heart and echo those truths. There’s so much to marinate on in this conversation, friends, and I hope it leaves you encouraged as you navigate the now, and fix your face to the future. ----- Scripture References: Romans 6- You have been transformed by God’s righteousness 1 John 4:19- The Lord loves you Ephesians Chapters 1 and 2 - The Lord wants you and made you valuable/worthy Romans 8:19-23- He wants to redeem all the broken things Galatians 4:4- God sent His Son to set us free Revelation 19:9- You’re invited to a feast Matthew 13- The parable of the seed falling on soils Proverbs 3:5- Trust in the Lord with all your heart Proverbs 18:21/ James 3:10- The words we speak bring life and death, blessings and curses Genesis 3- Eve in the Garden falling for a lie Romans 14 / a list of others: Discerning the difference between a truth and a lie Matthew 4:1-11 / Matthew 7:15/ Jude - The enemy brings lies through deception and intimidation - a lie leads us away from love John 10:10- the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy 2 Timothy 1:9- Purpose, call and identity Matthew 28:19-20- We’re called to share the Gospel 2 Corinthians 5:11-21- We’re called to be ministers of reconciliation Ephesians 4:1- Aligning your life to the will of God Romans 5:3-5- Perseverance not perfection Philippians 1:9- The more His love abounds in love through the knowledge of Him More thoughts on: We come to know the Father and our worth when we know what His word says References: Jess’ podcast episode where she interviews her spiritual Father, PJ, part 1 and 2. Today’s Scripture reading comes from Mark 14:18, quoting from the ESV: “As they were reclining at the table and eating, Jesus said, ‘Truly I say to you that one of you will betray Me—one who is eating with Me.’” Why do you think Jesus raised the subject of his betrayal? Why did He tell the disciples someone would betray Him? Perhaps He simply needed to tell someone who cared. Jesus told his disciples. He said it not once but, according to Mark, approached the matter five times. The fifth time He poured His heart out to His Father. At Jesus’ comment, the disciples questioned their loyalty. To be loyal is to show allegiance and to demonstrate constant support. This fidelity defines the leader/follower relationship. Disloyalty hurts. At the Passover meal the disciples had the opportunity to examine their own constancy to Christ. As followers of Christ, it is prudent to examine our trustworthiness and to monitor that which could allure, even lull us into thoughtless words and deeds. Jesus’ loyalty was without question. He said, “…I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Loyalty is demonstrated in the workplace for many noble reasons: belief in the cause or product or allegiance to the institution. The follower of Christ must understand his or her own motives for following and serving. Rightly motivated, believers respond to God’s demonstrated love for us. Did you notice that the one who betrayed Him reclined at the table and was eating with Him? Judas was a recipient of fellowship, inclusion, identity, and belonging without comprehending that loyalty is a two-way street. Jesus paid the price of his commitment to us on the cross. Are we willing to pay the price of loyalty to Him? More aptly, why am I willing to pay the price of constancy to Christ? // Points to Ponder Over the next week, here are 3 points to ponder during your personal time of reflection or with a small group or mentor. First, when you are tested, tempted, worn out, and perhaps overcommitted, how might your loyalty to Christ waver? Second, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.” How is your love relationship with Jesus? Third, what motivates your loyalty to Christ—the love relationship, the reward, or both? // About the Narrator Lt Col Kate Toms is a C-17 Instructor Pilot currently assigned to doctoral study in philosophy. This week, we begin to examine the concept of how Elohim can dwell among us. While it is true that He is the Exalted One who dwells in the Heavens, is that where He chooses to remain? There is no standing temple for Him to reside in, so where do we find Him? More importantly, how can we recognize His presence?

A daily devotional through the recorded words Jesus spoke while He walked alongside us. Our website http://alittlewalkwithgod.com. Thanks for joining me today for "A Little Walk with God." I'm your host Richard Agee. We sometimes forget the advantage we have living on this side of the cross when we read the words of Jesus. We think it would be so easy to believe if we could have seen Him in person and listened to Him speak while He walked the earth. But was it so easy then? Scripture John 6:53-58 Jesus: I tell you the truth; unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you will not know life. If you eat My flesh and drink My blood, then you will have eternal life and I will raise you up at the end of time. My flesh and blood provide true nourishment. If you eat My flesh and drink My blood, you will abide in Me and I will abide in you. The Father of life who sent Me has given life to Me; and as you eat My flesh, I will give life to you. This is bread that came down from heaven; I am not like the manna that your fathers ate and then died! If you eat this bread, your life will never end. Devotional The words Jesus shares with the crowd that day were hard words for them to accept. The last Passover supper was a long time away. Covenant with His disciples had not yet been announced Death on the cross that explained His sacrifice and symbolism of His flesh and blood was still in the future and unseen by all those around Him How could they understand Why would Jesus give these words that would drive people away from His message of love and forgiveness? Christianity is not an easy life Must count the cost to serve Him More will hate your message than like your message No watered down, easy road, do as you please religion Prepare us for what is to come Message He gives the crowd that day If you consume what the world offers, you die If you consume what He offers, you live Hard to understand sometimes, but that is the mystery of God Beyond our knowing because He is God and we are not In a battle for our lives Satan lies and is the father of lies Listen to God's truth Trust His word and follow His direction Obey and live If you want to learn more about my church, you can find us at SAF.church. If you like the devotional, share it with someone. If you don't, tell me. I hope you'll join me again tomorrow for "A Little Walk with God."

All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.” (Verse 12) It is not good for your body. “Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute or whore? Certainly not! Or, do you not know that he who is joined to a woman is one body with her? For “the two,” God says, “shall become one flesh.” [Torah: Genesis 2:24] “But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” (Verses 13-17) This is why we need to commit to marriage before we have sexual relations. It should make us run away. “Run away from sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.” (Verse 18) It dishonors God. “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (Verse 19-20) ALL THINGS START WITH A THOUGHT What you think or what you image—all start in the mind: the soulish realm. You are a tripartite being. Just as there is a Divine Trinity: God, the Father; God, the Son; and God, the Holy Spirit … so are you a threefold personality: spirit, soul and body. Your human spirit interfaces between God and your soul (“nephesh” in Hebrew). Your soul comprises intellect, emotion and will. What you think or see in your mind (image or imagination) is the progenitor of what you will do in your body. That's WHY you must learn to control your thoughts and images. Learn to build a wall. Delete the BAD thoughts and images before they can spread, grow and develop into actions like cancer. Learn to take your thoughts and images CAPTIVE and CAST THEM DOWN. In 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 we read: “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshlybut mighty through God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” I used to live on my yacht and because of that spent a lot of time on the beach. At sunset I used to visualize the greatness of God from the expanse of ocean from the Pacific Coast westward. It helped me to think creatively. It reminds me of a story about a man who was on the beach and prayed to God, asking for God to build a bridge from California to Hawaii. God answered the man, “I can do that easily, but wouldn't you rather have something of more benefit to you?” The man thought, and answered, “Yes, God, can you help me to understand women?” The Lord replied, “Do you want that bridge to be four lanes or six lanes?” You can talk to God. He understands the situation. Ask Him for help. When you are tempted with sexual immorality, learn to say to the LORD, “Jesus, do you want to do this with me?” And, if you can't ask that question—or feel uncomfortable asking it—then you know NOT to perform the action. Just because it feels good does NOT make it good. In Genesis 3:6 we read that Eve thought the fruit was: Good for food Appetite Lust of the flesh Pleasant to the eyes Appeal Lust of the eyes Desired to make one wise Applause Pride of life But in 1 John 2:16 we read that, “For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.” And in verse 17, “And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” Here is a SECRET to help you. And … I think it is really what holiness is about. When you start your day, pray and ask God to give you the desire to please Him MORE than you want to lust, commit fornication or view pornography. In the USA, 77% of men and 25% of women either do watch or have watched pornography ... with a high percentage of those being people involved in the work of the LORD. If you have been—or are—operating in an alternative life style such as gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual or queer, KNOW that God can deliver you. He will forgive you, cleanse you and give you a NEW start. Do NOT let people, institutions, philosophies or friends deceive you and keep you out of God's BEST for YOU—and out of Heaven. In the Torah, Genesis 2:24, we read: “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” The institution of the family unit—marriage based upon a man and his wife—was for procreation of the race: to produce children. This is why our bodies are made such: with a man's penis and a woman's vagina. And this is the only combination that produces a natural God ordained fertilized egg in the woman. Reading the context of Genesis Chapter 19 we can easily see God's view of—and the judgment on—homosexuality. Also, in Romans 1:24-28 of the New Testament, we read: “Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting.” I have a good friend who is in Heaven with the LORD now who founded and directed for years a powerful ministry in a large metroplex. He was a wonderful husband and father with a beautiful wife and children, all who still love and serve God. One time after we preached together he shared with me his testimony. He had been a male prostitute—a homosexual who hired himself out—and realized he was lost and on his way to Hell. He gave his life to Christ and was wonderfully transformed. He eventually married the girl who had witnessed to him which resulted in his salvation. And they lived a wonderful family life. I say this to share with you that you're never too far gone. Jesus loves you so much … He gave His life for you on the cross. His body and brain took your punishment … His BLOOD paid for your sins. Ask the Lord Jesus to deliver you. And if you want other help, counsel or encouragement, there are many places that will help you. And, you can always contact me at the Email listed above. I will be happy to pray for you. Remember—thoughts, images, flirting—all put you one step closer to the actions. Learn to stop them in their tracks. If you have a problem at the office with flirting or temptation, put a picture of your family—or a photo of the Bible or an Angel—on your phone or on your desk. Build a wall between you and the problem to keep the “fiery darts” of temptation deflected. Get involved in praying in the Spirit, in tongues, or in God's Work. Faith quenches the fiery darts of the wicked one. “Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.” (Ephesians 6:16) And … remember this BONUS: If you want to be used in SPECIAL works for the LORD, live a separated life. Study thiis: The Power of a Separated Life. Think these >> I want to please God – I want to be God's friend – I want to live holy! I trust teaching helps you, my friend. John 15:26, 27 “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me. And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning. Jesus' plan: be with me, then tell others what you found. D.T. Niles, a Sri Lankan evangelist, said evangelism is One beggar telling another beggar where he can find bread. Children usually come to Christ because of the faith of their parents But when adults come to Christ, it is usually because a believer has loved them into the kingdom What you do is more important than what you say 1. Drop your mask - Let people see your struggles - and the reason for your hope 2. Treat all people with respect - Be kind to the rude, love the unlovable, be a friend to someone without a friend. The world takes notice of people who love others - it is uncommon in the world 3. Find ways to bless and serve others - Put others first. shows you are not a phony, but that you live what you believe. 4. Escape the Christian subculture - be a friend to someone who doesn't look like you, think like you. Christians are not to be hermetically sealed until Jesus comes back. We are to be IN the world but not OF the world. 5. Be a model of forgiveness - the world struggles to forgive. The Christian should be. Don't hold grudges. Don't talk bad about people who talk bad about you. You've received 1 Peter 3:15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, Shouldn't someone else do this? Shouldn't someone older, wiser, holier, or at least a pastor? Paul to the Corinthians: You don't have many fathers, I'm sending you a peer. 1 Corinthians 4:14-17 I am writing this not to shame you but to warn you as my dear children. Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. Therefore I urge you to imitate me. For this reason I have sent to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church. He is redeeming all areas and aspects of our lives.
