In Vino Veritas! The Car Show takes listeners down a slightly different road and into the delicious world of wine collecting This week, The Car Show team take the opportunity to discuss the delicious topic of wine, and how to collect the world's favourite alcoholic beverage. What better way is there to enjoy an evening after a long day in the driving seat, than to relax with a glass of wine. If, like the Car Show team, your knowledge of wine is less comprehensive than their knowledge of cars, take this opportunity to listen to Sotheby's leading wine specialist, Celian Ravel d'Estienne, impart some of his extensive knowledge, and look on longingly as he pulls the cork on a very special bottle. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Gianluca Rottura, the proprietor of “In Vino Veritas,” New York City's landmark wine store, returns to the Italian American Podcast to bring us his take on the famed Italian Amari… But, we go completely off the rails and end up getting some of his best recommendations for the drinks and delicacies you're going to want to try this Holiday Season! From Gianluca's top two fresh mozzarellas in the NYC area to some amazing new wines (and yes, amari) recommendations, you're going to get tons of tips on how to heighten your holiday this year. We'll introduce you to the elevation that is colatura -the hottest new “secret ingredient” in the culinary world- which just so happens to be one of ancient Rome's most common condiments. And, we'll explore why you might love anchovies if you've tried the right ones! Plus we are discussing Gianluca's new book: Ma, What Are You Cooking?: The In Vino Veritas Cookbook and Food Guide… an Italian American book so thoroughly encyclopedia that P.O.B. sleeps with it on his nightstand! And, with the Christmas Season upon us, we're going to taste a listener-made panettone so good, that it will redefine how you look at this Christmas-time regifting staple! By the end of this episode, you'll have a shopping list worth of goodies to track down, so if you love great wines, great food, great friends, and a good old-fashioned Italian American rant don't miss this very lively (and instructive) episode! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/italianamerican/support

But the detectives learn Carroll's son pulled the trigger in his own bigoted rage.McCoy and Rubirosa try to prove the father's hate speech drove his son to murder. When the actor shows he's willing to let his boy take the fall, the teen turns on his dad and tells the truth. We're talking about Law & Order season 17 episode 7 "In Vino Veritas." Our returning guest is BFF Molly McKean. This episode takes cues from the 2006 drunk driving arrest of actor Mel Gibson.
There is a famous Latin proverb “In vino veritas” which means “in wine there is truth.” In this new recurring episode series, we do something really different: We throw away the script, let Carmela do a lot more of the talking, and we find out just how much truth there is in wine. Listen in as we drink some wine, and while the wine does its work, we let the truth just pour out! Today we drink a Cava while on vacation in New York City and talk about our first experiences with sparkling wine, if you should drink on your wedding day before the ceremony, how we obtained alcohol before we were of age, the strange nature of liquor stores, and other stupid stuff we did as kids when alcohol was involved. We also talk about why there are socks on our microphones and the AirBnB we rented from Hope Tarr who is an award winning Romance Novelist and has written books with Jenna Jameson. That's a lot. Every one of these podcasts I do is unique. I never know exactly what kind of flavor person I'm going pull from the box. In this particular case, I got chocolate (which is my favorite). You see, I've represented Carol Alleman for more than 15 years and I knew some of her background, but I didn't know the entire story. Not even close.Carol is somebody who struggled to become an artist. As a kid, she had to approach art and creativity through her life experiences, ultimately having an extended family member give her a push in the right direction. After her initial exposure to art and the years that followed, Carol found herself on the winding road of life eventually getting a degree in art education. She had to bypass hurdle after hurdle, eventually becoming a professional artist in her early forties. A professional artist that was represented by nine of the best galleries in the country, no less. And, you know, her art is amazing and I encourage people to go look at it on our website. You can see her sculptural identity in full force and the attention to detail she puts into all of her pieces. Carol is unique in her approach and each one has a story, a poem that expresses Carol's feelings on any particular piece. In fact, Carol stated a piece of hers is not complete until the story or poem is complete as well.A very unique individual and a wonderful podcast. Art Dealer Diaries episode 203 with Carol Alleman.

This is a podcast where we combine storytelling with original music to put you at the heart of mystery, murder, and mayhem. These are arrangements, which means instead of word-for-word readings, you get a performance meant to be heard. Jack and I perform these live, front to back, no breaks, no fakes, no retakes. This is Season 4, A Word Before Dying. This season contains original stories written just for you and built around that classic mystery theme of the last word spoken by the dying victim. The smell of exhaust is in the air. Drivers of all kinds are rallying to pay their respects. Handbrake Hardy Fry's passing will mark the end of an era. His legendary career spans decades. Hardy outran the law after bank heists and armored car robberies. He carried contraband back and forth over the Canadian border. If a crime involved a car, he likely drove or trained the person who did. Some labeled him a hero, while others dubbed him a villain. Yet, no cop ever slapped handcuffs on Hardy except for a sole drunk and disorderly arrest—a feat unrivaled in wheelman lore. But even legends end. With word spreading that Hardy's death is imminent, the pilgrimages to his bedside have begun. Many come to pay their respects. Some travel to do him harm. These are their stories. Regardless of whether you drink wine or not, Pearmund Cellars offers something for everyone, not just wine, but incredible history, incredible background, incredible views, as you can see behind me and incredible company. What is an entrepreneur? An entrepreneur is someone who operates a business while taking on greater than normal financial risk – ok that's the dictionary definition. An entrepreneur is also an artist who sees, gaps, opportunities and angles where other people simply see problems. Chris Pearmund is just such an artist – from as early as 7 years old, Chris always had an eye for seeing opportunities and solutions wherever he was. In his first business he turned an avocado tree in his back yard into a thriving enterprise – and that was just the start, he's come a long way since that first Avocado tree. Today, he owns, manages, and consults with wineries across the country. In fact, he helped start nearly 20 wineries in Virginia alone. His headquarters is Pearmund Cellars, in Broad Run, VA, where we went on location to meet this incredible man. If you thought you knew wine, think again, because when your with one of the country’s leading wine masters there is so much more to learn — and Chris is just the man to teach us how to drink wine. Even if you don't drink, don't miss this incredibly fun and informative episode where we get into wine, business, and what it takes to be wildly successful.
