Hosted on Acast. Send us Fan MailAre Christians required to keep the Law of Moses? Is the seventh-day Sabbath still binding under the New Covenant, or was it fulfilled in Christ? In this conversation, host Mike Colburn sits down with Dr. R. L. Solberg, author of Torahism and founder of The Biblical Roots Ministries, to work through the questions his audience asks him about most: the law, the Sabbath, the New Covenant, and what changed when Jesus said, "It is finished."Dr. Solberg has spent years answering the Hebrew Roots, Torah-keeping, and Messianic movements. Those arguments turn out to be the mirror image of what so many of us inherited in Adventism. If you've ever been told that "sin is the transgression of the law," that the Ten Commandments are what's written on our hearts, or that keeping the Sabbath is a test of loyalty to God, this one is for you.#apologetics #sda #theology #hebrewrootsThe Biblical Roots MinistriesOur websiteOur YouTube ChannelProf. Solberg's BlogSupport our Ministry (Thank you!)What if Christmas felt sacred again? iHeartPodcasts and Imagine Entertainment Launch "The A Building" - A Riveting New Documentary Podcast About the Student Uprising That Reshaped Historically Black Colleges and UniversitiesNew Series Recounts How a Group of Morehouse College Students in 1969, Including a Young Samuel L. Jackson, Organized a Protest That Took Multiple Hostages, Among Them Martin Luther King Sr.iHeartPodcasts, the No. 1 podcast publisher globally according to Podtrac, and Brian Grazer and Ron Howard's Imagine Entertainment today announced the launch of "The A Building," a powerful new documentary podcast that revisits one of the most extraordinary and rarely told moments in American civil rights and higher-education history-an event that changed the future of Historically Black Colleges and Universities and helped define the modern era of student protest. This is the seventh title to be released from Imagine Entertainment and iHeartMedia's slate of original iHeartPodcasts. The series tells the story of the 1969 student uprising at Morehouse College, where a group of students barricaded themselves inside the administration building-known on Historically Black Colleges and Universities campuses as "The A Building." Set against the backdrop of late-1960s America, "The A Building" explores a volatile period when student activism surged nationwide amid movements for civil rights, women's rights, labor justice, and opposition to the Vietnam War. At Morehouse, the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. intensified tensions between the administration and a student body demanding an education that reflected Black history, identity and lived experience-and ultimately led students to hold members of the Board of Trustees hostage for two days demanding reforms to curriculum and improvements to student life. One of the hostages was Martin Luther King Sr., president of the Board of Trustees. One of the student organizers was Samuel L. Jackson-years before he would become one of the most celebrated figures in Hollywood. Samuel L. Jackson and his friends devised a plan to hijack a Board of Trustees meeting to create change. A heist with a purpose.Blending immersive reenactments with firsthand testimony, archival research and expert analysis, the series unfolds with the tension of a true-crime heist-one driven by moral urgency. "The A Building" examines the risks students took, the consequences they faced, and the lasting impact of their actions on Historically Black Colleges and Universities and student activism nationwide.Co-created and produced by Menelek Lumumba and Hans Charles, the podcast traces the aftermath of the protest, including the expulsion of the students involved, the escalation of political pressure, and the pivotal moment that ultimately led Samuel L. Jackson back to Morehouse-where a change in academic focus quietly set him on the path toward acting."This project has been years in the making, but it feels more relevant than ever," said Menelek Lumumba, co-creator and producer. "I'm grateful we have the opportunity to tell this story about young people who took action, and how their one act of protest continues to reverberate through all those involved over 50 years later.""It's an incredible, unbelievable story when you first hear it," said Hans Charles, co-creator and producer. "That it happened on a campus like Morehouse College, in a city like Atlanta, at such a volatile time, speaks to the importance of telling and exploring what is quintessential American History.""What makes the story of 'The A Building' so compelling is how clearly it reveals the purpose and power of protest," said Nathan Kloke, Executive Producer for Imagine Entertainment. "When Hans and Menelek first brought us this pivotal chapter of American history, it unfolded like a heist film-fast-paced, surprising, and utterly gripping. We're excited to bring audiences along for the ride.""This is premium documentary storytelling that connects history to the present," said Will Pearson, President of iHeartPodcasts. "'The A Building' revisits a moment that feels both historic and urgently relevant, revealing how student voices helped shape lasting institutional change.""The A Building" is part of a growing slate of documentary podcasts from iHeartPodcasts and Imagine Entertainment, including"Hello Isaac," "Unf**cking the Future," "Big Sugar," "The Tao of Muhammad Ali," "Obscurum, and "The Secret World of Roald Dahl," which explore iconic figures, cultural flashpoints, and untold stories through deep reporting and cinematic storytelling.Nathan Kloke and Kara Welker are Executive Producers for Imagine Entertainment in partnership with oddarts media. Katrina Norvell is the Executive Producer for iHeartPodcasts."The A Building" is distributed by iHeartPodcasts and will be available weekly on Fridays on the iHeartRadio app and everywhere podcasts are heard.Episodes available here:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/imagine-audio-the-a-building/id1692268936 Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Are you feeling worn down by constant mood battles as a mom? You are not alone—and you are not weak. In today's powerful Mom Power episode of the Mothers Who Know Podcast, host Karen Broadhead dives deep into the God-given strength of warrior mothers, teaching how to recognize and fight back against the adversary's subtle attacks using a gospel-centered tool called warrior chemistry. This episode is especially for faith-filled, covenant-keeping moms—especially those navigating challenges like pornography, depression, anxiety, self-harm, or faith crises in their children. Karen shares stories of real moms and personal experiences, revealing how Satan wages "biochemical warfare" in our emotional state… and how to fight back with love, grace, and truth.
What if the very things Satan uses to whisper, “you're too broken, too messy, too late” are the exact things God wants to use to bless His children? In this episode of the Memoirs of an LDS Servant Teacher Podcast, Maurice Harker (founder of Life Changing Services and creator of the Spiritual Psychology Masterclass) dives into the psychology behind fear, perfectionism, and “I'll just mess it up” thinking. From mission stories in Detroit to the story of Martin Harris and the 116 pages, Maurice explains how perfect love casteth out fear and why God invites us into His work knowing full well that we are still in process. You'll hear powerful insights on seeing yourself as one vital chess piece on God's board, learning when to move and when to “hold still,” and why your anger at the pain in the world is actually a form of Christlike love when it drives you to get tools to those who are suffering. Maurice and Markel also share about their new “Phase 3” effort—a project to turn deeply wounded, resilient Latter-day Saint women into an army of healers and creators who bring hope to others.

Can God really do His work through you when your life feels like a total mess? In this powerful episode of the Memoirs of an LDS Servant Teacher Podcast, Maurice Harker (founder of Life Changing Services and creator of the Spiritual Psychology Masterclass) explores what it really means that “God's work cannot be frustrated”—even by our weaknesses, sins, or failures.Drawing on the story of Martin Harris and the 116 lost pages, early Church history, and real-life examples from modern disciples, Maurice dives deep into spiritual psychology—the mental and emotional patterns behind fear, shame, perfectionism, and “I've ruined everything” thinking. He also shares memorable insights like “the miracle is in the mess” (a phrase coined by Karen Broadhead of Mothers Who Know), and why God often uses our most chaotic, humiliating experiences as the raw material for miracles.
As we prepare for Series 5 of the Fiftyfaces Podcast, we are delighted to bring you this preview from Series 5, a joint podcast between Fiftyfaces Productions and Alvine Capital. Alvine Capital is a specialist investment advisor and fund placement boutique. Nate Kirk is the co-founder of Everside Capital Partners, a private credit fund focused on the lower-middle market based in New York City. He founded the firm together with Moritz Poehl in 2016, and was previously a portfolio manager at Third Avenue Management, where he focused on stressed and distressed credit, special situations and flexible credit, and prior to that worked as a Trader and High Yield Credit Researcher at J P Morgan. Our conversation starts with Nate's early education and the passion that he developed for rowing in his teens and beyond. While he admits that he didn't always have the “best form” as a rower, his passion, discipline and dedication to the sport distinguished him and taught him the characteristics of grit and perseverance that proved to be useful in the corporate world. We hear about how he had to channel that grit to find his first entry into the world of finance, and about the lessons that the volatility in the financial world presented. These lessons related to client treatment – particularly in times of challenge, dealing with counterparties and seeking pockets of return along the road less traveled. We conclude with reflections on how personal setbacks can lead to a reckoning of what it is that truly matters in life and on the challenges – and rewards of finding a solid work/life balance.Alvine Talks Podcasts are co-hosted by Tom Raber and Aoifinn Devitt and aim to bring a deeper understanding of the people and processes behind the strategies that drive differentiated returns.
