Depremin ilk gününde de tozla kaplı olan kentte, iki yıl sonra da hala toz bulutu var; üstelik daha da arttı. İlk günlerde yıkılan bina enkazlarından ve enkaz depolama alanlarından yayılan asbestten dolayı nefes alınamıyordu. Enkazlar bitti, taş ocakları geldi, taş ocaklarına beton santralleri eklendi.
