We glorify God by making disciples of all nations. ========== Connection Card https://istrouma.org/myinfo April 20, 2025 - Mark Clifton ‭‭Luke‬ ‭19‬:‭28‬-‭40‬‬ When He had said this, He went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. And it came to pass, when He drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mountain called Olivet, that He sent two of His disciples, saying, “Go into the village opposite you, where as you enter you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Loose it and bring it here. And if anyone asks you, ‘Why are you loosing it?' thus you shall say to him, ‘Because the Lord has need of it.' ” So those who were sent went their way and found it just as He had said to them. But as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it said to them, “Why are you loosing the colt?” And they said, “The Lord has need of him.” Then they brought him to Jesus. And they threw their own clothes on the colt, and they set Jesus on him. And as He went, many spread their clothes on the road. Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying: “ ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!' Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.” But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.” Want to receive weekly announcements in your inbox each week? https://istrouma.org/email Give Online Text ISTROUMA IBC to 73256 or go to: https://istrouma.org/give Our Website https://istrouma.org

It's a synonym for heaven. Revelation 21:1 - Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. No more sea is a reference to the fact that God will remove every threat to His redeemed people. TRUTH #1: HEAVEN IS 2 Then I,John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. God Himself will be with them and be their God. TRUTH #3: HEAVEN IS THE PLACE OF GOD'S PRESENCE In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. Buscar para edificar “para que se llene mi casa” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭14‬:‭1‬-‭24‬‬ One Sabbath, when he went to dine at the house of a ruler of the Pharisees, they were watching him carefully. And behold, there was a man before him who had dropsy. And Jesus responded to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath, or not?” But they remained silent. Then he took him and healed him and sent him away. And he said to them, “Which of you, having a son or an ox that has fallen into a well on a Sabbath day, will not immediately pull him out?” And they could not reply to these things. Now he told a parable to those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the places of honor, saying to them, “When you are invited by someone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in a place of honor, lest someone more distinguished than you be invited by him, and he who invited you both will come and say to you, ‘Give your place to this person,' and then you will begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, move up higher.' Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at table with you. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” He said also to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.” When one of those who reclined at table with him heard these things, he said to him, “Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the kingdom of God!” But he said to him, “A man once gave a great banquet and invited many. And at the time for the banquet he sent his servant to say to those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.' But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please have me excused.' And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them. Please have me excused.' And another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.' So the servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house became angry and said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly to the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor and crippled and blind and lame.' And the servant said, ‘Sir, what you commanded has been done, and still there is room.' And the master said to the servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled. For I tell you, none of those men who were invited shall taste my banquet.'” 1. Seek out those in need . 2. Search urgently . 3. Seek to edify. There is a COMMON THEME with all apocalyptic writing: · God's people are in CAPTIVITY. · The RULERS are EVIL. · God is in CONTROL. · He will DELIVER US. · God will CRUSH our ENEMIES. 2. Common symbols in apocalyptical writing: · Water was always associated with EVIL. · HYBRID animals were repulsive- remember Lev. 19:19 · Clean and nonclean animals were determined if they were NORMAL to their ENVIRONMENT. · Any animal that took on HUMAN attributes (like STANDING) would be alarming. B. The vision of the RAM and GOAT. · This happened in BELSHAZZAR'S 3rd year. Several years before it Babylon's defeat. · Persia (Iran) and Medes (Kurds) were not POWERFUL NATIONS when Daniel saw the vision. C. Daniel's RESPONSE to these two visions is PRAYER. 1. There was URGENCY in his praying. · First he FASTED - withholding FOOD to PRIORITIZE something else. · SACKCLOTH – a rough material that would IRRITATE the skin, represented the marks of REPENTANCE. · ASHES - symbolize COMPLETE RUIN - Spiritual BANKRUPTCY. 2. Parts of his prayer: · The prayer of CONFESSION. 4-14 · The prayer of RESTORATION & PETITION. 15-18 · The prayer of REPENTANCE. Vs.19

The windows in its upstairs room opened toward Jerusalem,  and three times a day he got down on his knees, prayed, and gave thanks to his God,  just as he had done before. ‭‭Daniel‬ ‭6‬:‭16‬-‭24‬‬ So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions' den.  The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you continually serve,  rescue you! ” A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den.  The king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signet rings of his nobles, so that nothing in regard to Daniel could be changed. Then the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting.  No diversions  were brought to him, and he could not sleep.  At the first light of dawn the king got up and hurried to the lions' den. When he reached the den, he cried out in anguish to Daniel. “Daniel, servant of the living God,” the king said,  “has your God, whom you continually serve, been able to rescue you  from the lions? ” Then Daniel spoke with the king: “May the king live forever. My God sent his angel  and shut the lions' mouths; and they haven't harmed me, for I was found innocent before him. And also before you, Your Majesty, I have not done harm.” The king was overjoyed and gave orders to take Daniel out of the den. 1. El Poder que oprime. (Daniel 3:1-7) 2. El Pacto que sostiene. (Daniel 3:16-18) 3. El Protector que salva. (Daniel 3:24-25) ‭‭Daniel‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭30‬‬ King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, whose height was sixty cubits and its breadth six cubits. He set it up on the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon. Then King Nebuchadnezzar sent to gather the satraps, the prefects, and the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the justices, the magistrates, and all the officials of the provinces to come to the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. Then the satraps, the prefects, and the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the justices, the magistrates, and all the officials of the provinces gathered for the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. And they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up. And the herald proclaimed aloud, “You are commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages, that when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, you are to fall down and worship the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. And whoever does not fall down and worship shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace.” Therefore, as soon as all the peoples heard the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, all the peoples, nations, and languages fell down and worshiped the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. Therefore at that time certain Chaldeans came forward and maliciously accused the Jews. They declared to King Nebuchadnezzar, “O king, live forever! You, O king, have made a decree, that every man who hears the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, shall fall down and worship the golden image. And whoever does not fall down and worship shall be cast into a burning fiery furnace. There are certain Jews whom you have appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These men, O king, pay no attention to you; they do not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.” Then Nebuchadnezzar in furious rage commanded that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego be brought. So they brought these men before the king. Nebuchadnezzar answered and said to them, “Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the golden image that I have set up? Now if you are ready when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, to fall down and worship the image that I have made, well and good. But if you do not worship, you shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace. And who is the god who will deliver you out of my hands?” Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.” Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with fury, and the expression of his face was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He ordered the furnace heated seven times more than it was usually heated. And he ordered some of the mighty men of his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. Then these men were bound in their cloaks, their tunics, their hats, and their other garments, and they were thrown into the burning fiery furnace. Because the king's order was urgent and the furnace overheated, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell bound into the burning fiery furnace. Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished and rose up in haste. He declared to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.” He answered and said, “But I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.” Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the door of the burning fiery furnace; he declared, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here!” Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out from the fire. And the satraps, the prefects, the governors, and the king's counselors gathered together and saw that the fire had not had any power over the bodies of those men. The hair of their heads was not singed, their cloaks were not harmed, and no smell of fire had come upon them. Nebuchadnezzar answered and said, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel and delivered his servants, who trusted in him, and set aside the king's command, and yielded up their bodies rather than serve and worship any god except their own God. Therefore I make a decree: Any people, nation, or language that speaks anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego shall be torn limb from limb, and their houses laid in ruins, for there is no other god who is able to rescue in this way.” Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the province of Babylon. 1. We glorify God by making disciples of all nations. ========== Connection Card https://istrouma.org/myinfo January 19, 2025 - Tim Keith ‭‭Daniel‬ ‭2‬:‭47‬-‭49‬‬ The king said to Daniel, “Your God is indeed God of gods, Lord of kings,  and a revealer of mysteries,  since you were able to reveal this mystery.” Then the king promoted Daniel and gave him many generous gifts. He made him ruler over the entire province of Babylon and chief governor over all the wise men of Babylon.  At Daniel's request, the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego  to manage the province of Babylon. But Daniel remained at the king's court. ‭‭James‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭30‬‬ Not many should become teachers, my brothers,  because you know that we will receive a stricter judgment.  For we all stumble in many ways.  If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is mature, able also to control the whole body.  Now if we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us,  we direct their whole bodies. And consider ships: Though very large and driven by fierce winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So too, though the tongue is a small part of the body, it boasts great things.  Consider how a small fire sets ablaze a large forest. And the tongue is a fire. The tongue, a world of unrighteousness, is placed  among our members. It stains the whole body,  sets the course of life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. Every kind of animal, bird, reptile, and fish is tamed and has been tamed by humankind, but no one can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.  With the tongue we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in God's likeness.  Blessing and cursing come out of the same mouth. My brothers and sisters, these things should not be this way. Does a spring pour out sweet and bitter water from the same opening? Can a fig tree produce olives, my brothers and sisters, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a saltwater spring yield fresh water. Who among you is wise and understanding? By his good conduct he should show that his works are done in the gentleness that comes from wisdom.  But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don't boast and deny the truth.  Such wisdom does not come down from above but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.  For where there is envy and selfish ambition, there is disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without pretense.  And the fruit of righteousness  is sown in peace by those who cultivate peace. ‭‭Daniel‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭21‬‬ In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the vessels of the house of God. And he brought them to the land of Shinar, to the house of his god, and placed the vessels in the treasury of his god. Then the king commanded Ashpenaz, his chief eunuch, to bring some of the people of Israel, both of the royal family and of the nobility, youths without blemish, of good appearance and skillful in all wisdom, endowed with knowledge, understanding learning, and competent to stand in the king's palace, and to teach them the literature and language of the Chaldeans. The king assigned them a daily portion of the food that the king ate, and of the wine that he drank. They were to be educated for three years, and at the end of that time they were to stand before the king. Among these were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah of the tribe of Judah. And the chief of the eunuchs gave them names: Daniel he called Belteshazzar, Hananiah he called Shadrach, Mishael he called Meshach, and Azariah he called Abednego. But Daniel resolved that he would not defile himself with the king's food, or with the wine that he drank. Therefore he asked the chief of the eunuchs to allow him not to defile himself. And God gave Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the chief of the eunuchs, and the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, “I fear my Lord the king, who assigned your food and your drink; for why should he see that you were in worse condition than the youths who are of your own age? So you would endanger my head with the king.” Then Daniel said to the steward whom the chief of the eunuchs had assigned over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, “Test your servants for ten days; let us be given vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then let our appearance and the appearance of the youths who eat the king's food be observed by you, and deal with your servants according to what you see.” So he listened to them in this matter, and tested them for ten days. At the end of ten days it was seen that they were better in appearance and fatter in flesh than all the youths who ate the king's food. So the steward took away their food and the wine they were to drink, and gave them vegetables. As for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. At the end of the time, when the king had commanded that they should be brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. And the king spoke with them, and among all of them none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore they stood before the king. And in every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters that were in all his kingdom. And Daniel was there until the first year of King Cyrus. 1. "He decided to be faithful above his position" (Daniel 1:8) He did not allow the privilege of the king's table to compromise his relationship with the King of kings. 2️. "He defended his identity above the pressure" (Daniel 1:12-13) His loyalty to God did not depend on his surroundings, but on his conviction. 3️. "He placed his trust in God above the circumstances" (Daniel 1:17) He knew that God supports those who are faithful, even in the midst of oppressive systems.

We glorify God by making disciples of all nations. ========== Connection Card https://istrouma.org/myinfo January 12, 2025 - Tim Keith "Staying Faithful in an Unfaithful World" ‭‭Daniel‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭21‬‬ In the third year of the reign of King Jehoiakim  of Judah, King Nebuchadnezzar , of Babylon came to Jerusalem and laid siege to it. The Lord handed King Jehoiakim of Judah over to him, along with some of the vessels from the house of God.  Nebuchadnezzar carried them to the land of Babylon, , to the house of his god,  and put the vessels in the treasury of his god. The king ordered Ashpenaz, his chief eunuch, to bring some of the Israelites from the royal family  and from the nobility #— # young men without any physical defect, good-looking, suitable for instruction in all wisdom,  knowledgeable, perceptive, and capable of serving in the king's palace.  He was to teach them the Chaldean language  and literature. The king assigned them daily provisions from the royal food and from the wine that he drank.  They were to be trained for three years, and at the end of that time they were to attend the king. , Among them, from the Judahites, were Daniel,  Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. The chief eunuch gave them names; he gave the name Belteshazzar to Daniel, Shadrach to Hananiah, Meshach to Mishael, and Abednego to Azariah.  Daniel determined that he would not defile himself with the king's food  or with the wine he drank. So he asked permission from the chief eunuch not to defile himself.  God had granted Daniel kindness and compassion from the chief eunuch,  yet he said to Daniel, “I fear my Lord the king, who assigned your food and drink. What if he sees your faces looking thinner than the other young men your age? You would endanger my life  with the king.” So Daniel said to the guard whom the chief eunuch had assigned to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, “Please test your servants for ten days. Let us be given vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then examine our appearance and the appearance of the young men who are eating the king's food, and deal with your servants based on what you see.” He agreed with them about this and tested them for ten days. At the end of ten days they looked better and healthier  than all the young men who were eating the king's food.  So the guard continued to remove their food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables. God gave these four young men knowledge and understanding  in every kind of literature and wisdom. Daniel also understood visions and dreams  of every kind. At the end of the time that the king had said to present them, the chief eunuch presented them to Nebuchadnezzar. The king interviewed them, and among all of them, no one was found equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.  So they began to attend the king. In every matter of wisdom and understanding that the king consulted them about, he found them ten times , better than all the magicians and mediums  in his entire kingdom. Daniel remained there until the first year of King Cyrus. Determine to Honor God Do What You've Determined ‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭22‬-‭25‬‬ But  be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like someone looking at his own face  in a mirror. For he looks at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of person he was. But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom and perseveres in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer who works #— #this person will be blessed in what he does. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it. Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! He led me all around them. There were a great many of them on the surface of the valley, and they were very dry. Then he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live? ” I replied, “Lord God, only you know.”  He said to me, “Prophesy concerning these bones and say to them: Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Lord God says to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you will live.  I will put tendons on you, make flesh grow on you, and cover you with skin. I will put breath in you so that you come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.”  So I prophesied as I had been commanded. While I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. As I looked, tendons appeared on them, flesh grew, and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them. He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath,  prophesy, son of man. Say to it: This is what the Lord God says: Breath, come from the four winds and breathe into these slain so that they may live! ”  So I prophesied as he commanded me; the breath entered them,  and they came to life and stood on their feet, a vast army. Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel.  Look how they say, ‘Our bones are dried up,  and our hope has perished;  we are cut off.'  Therefore, prophesy and say to them, ‘This is what the Lord God says: I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them,  my people, and lead you into the land of Israel. You will know that I am the Lord, my people, when I open your graves and bring you up from them.  I will put my Spirit in you,  and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. We glorify God by making disciples of all nations. ========== Connection Card https://istrouma.org/myinfo December 15, 2024 - Tim Keith Advent: LOVE ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭11‬, ‭19‬-‭21‬‬ Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God  and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love. God's love was revealed among us  in this way: God sent  his one and only Son  into the world so that we might live  through him. Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that he loved us  and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice , for our sins. Dear friends, if God loved us in this way, we also must love one another.  We love  because he first loved us.  If anyone says, “I love God,” and yet hates his brother or sister,  he is a liar.  For the person who does not love his brother or sister whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.  And we have this command from him: The one who loves God must also love his brother and sister. Look At What God Did For You ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬‬ Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that he loved us  and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice , for our sins. ‭‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬‬ This is how we have come to know love: He laid down his life  for us.  We should also lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬‬ But God proves  his own love for us  in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬‬ Dear friends, if God loved us in this way, we also must love one another. ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭20‬‬ If anyone says, “I love God,” and yet hates his brother or sister,  he is a liar.  For the person who does not love his brother or sister  whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. Let Go Of Bitterness ‭‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭24‬‬ The one who keeps his commands remains in him,  and he in him. And the way we know that he remains in us  is from the Spirit  he has given us. ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭31‬‬ Let all bitterness, anger and wrath, shouting and slander be removed from you, along with all malice. Forgive Quickly Forgive Completely Learn From God's Purpose ‭‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭14‬‬ We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers and sisters. The one who does not love remains in death. ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭9‬‬ God's love was revealed among us  in this way: God sent  his one and only Son  into the world so that we might live  through him. ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭7‬‬ But we pray to God that you do nothing wrong #— #not that we may appear to pass the test, but that you may do what is right,  even though we may appear to fail. ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭32‬‬ And be kind  and compassionate  to one another, forgiving  one another, just as God also forgave you  in Christ. ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭12‬-‭13‬‬ Therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and dearly loved,  put on compassion, kindness,  humility,  gentleness,  and patience,  bearing with one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a grievance against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you are also to forgive. And I will show you a still more excellent way. ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭9‬‬ But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human? What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building. 1. The necessity of love. 2. The characteristics of love. - Love is patient. - Love is kind. - Love does not envy. ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭14‬:‭30‬‬ A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot. - Love does not boast. - Love is not arrogant. - Love is not rude. - Love is not self-seeking. - Love is not irritable. - Love is not resentful. - Love does not rejoice at wrong doing, but rejoices with the truth. - Love bears, believes, hopes, and endures for others. 3. For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” 3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him; 4 and assembling all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. 5 They told him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by the prophet: 6 “‘And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for from you shall come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.'” 7 Then Herod summoned the wise men secretly and ascertained from them what time the star had appeared. 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, saying, “Go and search diligently for the child, and when you have found him, bring me word, that I too may come and worship him.” 9 After listening to the king, they went on their way. And behold, the star that they had seen when it rose went before them until it came to rest over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. 11 And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh. 12 And being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed to their own country by another way. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves don't break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light. We glorify God by making disciples of all nations. ========== Connection Card https://istrouma.org/myinfo October 27, 2024 - Tim Keith ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭14‬-‭15‬‬ How, then, can they call on him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about him? And how can they hear without a preacher? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news. Let's go to those we can... and help send others to those we cannot. 1. Every person needs Jesus. ‭‭Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬‬ For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬‬ But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭9‬, ‭13‬‬ If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they call on him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about him? (Romans 10:14) 2. Every Christian has a mission. And how can they hear without a preacher? And how can they preach unless they are sent? (Romans 10:14-15) John 17:18, Jesus said, "As you sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world." John 20:21, Jesus said, "As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you." Acts 1:8, Jesus said, “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” 3. Every mission of every Christian is to tell every person about the good news of Jesus. And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news. (Romans 10:15) Acts 20:24, Paul says, "my purpose/mission is to finish my course and the ministry I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of God's grace.” Why haven't they heard? > Do Nothing > Give Generously > Go Courageously > Pray Constantly Let's go to those we can... and help send others to those we cannot. We glorify God by making disciples of all nations. ========== Connection Card https://istrouma.org/myinfo What's Our Excuse? Romans 10:13-17 ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭13‬-‭17‬‬ For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. 1. God sends us. 2. God sends us; we share. 3. God sends us; we share; people hear. 4. God sends us; we share; people hear; they believe. 5. God sends us; we share; people hear; they believe; they call. 6. God sends us; we share; people hear; they believe; they call; God saves.

1. For as you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so it is necessary for you to testify in Rome.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭27‬:‭20‬‬ For many days neither sun nor stars appeared, and the severe storm kept raging. Finally all hope was fading that we would be saved. ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭7‬-‭10‬‬ especially because of the extraordinary revelations. Therefore, so that I would not exalt myself, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to torment me so that I would not exalt myself. Concerning this, I pleaded with the Lord three times that it would leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may reside in me. So I take pleasure in weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and in difficulties, for the sake of Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Through Difficulty – We Learn to Depend upon God ‭‭Acts‬ ‭27‬:‭21‬-‭25‬‬ Since they had been without food for a long time, Paul then stood up among them and said, “You men should have followed my advice not to sail from Crete and sustain this damage and loss. Now I urge you to take courage, because there will be no loss of any of your lives, but only of the ship. For last night an angel of the God I belong to and serve stood by me and said, ‘Don't be afraid, Paul. It is necessary for you to appear before Caesar. And indeed, God has graciously given you all those who are sailing with you.' So take courage, men, because I believe God that it will be just the way it was told to me. ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭3‬-‭4‬‬ And not only that, but we also boast in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope. Through Failure – We Learn to Forgive Others ‭‭Acts‬ ‭27‬:‭33‬-‭37‬‬ When it was about daylight, Paul urged them all to take food, saying, “Today is the fourteenth day that you have been waiting and going without food, having eaten nothing. So I urge you to take some food. For this is for your survival, since none of you will lose a hair from your head.” After he said these things and had taken some bread, he gave thanks to God in the presence of all of them, and after he broke it, he began to eat. They all were encouraged and took food themselves. In all there were 276 of us on the ship. Through Suffering – We Learn to Share Jesus ‭‭Acts‬ ‭28‬:‭8‬-‭10‬‬ Publius's father was in bed suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went to him, and praying and laying his hands on him, he healed him. After this, the rest of those on the island who had diseases also came and were healed. So they heaped many honors on us, and when we sailed, they gave us what we needed. And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.' And I said, ‘Who are you, Lord?' And the Lord said, ‘I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you, delivering you from your people and from the Gentiles—to whom I am sending you to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.' “Therefore, O King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, but declared first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout all the region of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds in keeping with their repentance. 1. 1. EN LA ADVERSIDAD MANTENER NUESTRO COMPROMISO 2. We glorify God by making disciples of all nations. ========== Connection Card https://istrouma.org/myinfo The Faith of Felix Acts 24:22-27 ‭‭Acts‬ ‭24‬:‭22‬-‭27‬‬ But Felix, having a rather accurate knowledge of the Way, put them off, saying, “When Lysias the tribune comes down, I will decide your case.” Then he gave orders to the centurion that he should be kept in custody but have some liberty, and that none of his friends should be prevented from attending to his needs. After some days Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish, and he sent for Paul and heard him speak about faith in Christ Jesus. And as he reasoned about righteousness and self-control and the coming judgment, Felix was alarmed and said, “Go away for the present. When I get an opportunity I will summon you.” At the same time he hoped that money would be given him by Paul. So he sent for him often and conversed with him. When two years had elapsed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus. And desiring to do the Jews a favor, Felix left Paul in prison. 1. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! 2. Inquiring mind 2.
