If Jesus spoke of our time, would he have spoken of the ideologies and philosophies such as wokeness and victimhood in our day? Those things that contradict the Gospel of Jesus Christ? The Parables of the Ten Virgins, the Talents, and the Sheep and Goats from Matthew 25 are better understood by including the preceding chapter, Matthew 24. Matthew 24 is the chapter used for Joseph Smith - Matthew in the Pearl of Great Price. It is about the last days. Several phrases and ideas in chapter 24 carry over to the three parables. And if we look closely, these three parables are woven together and give each other meaning. Take a listen! Website - www.cwicmedia.com

How may we be prepared for Jesus Christ's Second Coming? The events of our day can feel scary and chaotic, but with patience, as we turn to the Lord, He shows us how to prepare ourselves, not be "troubled," and look forward with faith to His triumphant return. As Jesus discussed these events, and the destruction of Jerusalem & the temple, He also taught various methods we may use to grow in patience as we prepare to become more like Him today & be ready for Him when He comes again. 00:00-15:28 “QOTW: How can I be more patient? And prepared for the Second Coming?”15:29-23:56 “Patience is…self-mastery, preparing, being prepared; ‘watch & be ready'”23:57-32:13 “Patience through affliction; we are being prepared through hard times”32:14-39:50 “See, understand, ‘be not troubled' w the signs of our day ”39:51-49:24 “The 10 Virgins–Prepare your testimony, patiently”49:25-END “Multiply & share your talents; Serve & love others”Find Study Guides, episodes, & SUBSCRIBE to our email list at : http://www.likeawateredgarden.comAbout this podcast:Welcome to Like a Watered Garden, a Come Follow Me-inspired mental health & personal growth podcast that shows you how to personalize the holy scriptures to help you “overcome, become, and flourish” in physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health & wellness, so you may feel, as Isaiah writes, “...like a watered garden and a spring whose waters fail not.”I'm your host, Dr. Christina Hibbert, clinical psychologist, author, speaker, wife & mom, & member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. For our second season, we'll be following the Come Follow Me manual and learning in The New Testament, our goal being to draw closer to Christ as we study His birth, ministry, death & resurrection. To learn more about Dr. Christina Hibbert, please visit http://www.drchristinahibbert.com or http://www.instagram.com/drchristinahibbert or http://www.facebook.com/DrCHibbertTo learn more about this podcast, find bonus materials, handouts, and videos, visit http://www.likeawateredgarden.com and/or Instagram, http://www.instagram.com/likeawatered.garden .Join our "Like a Watered Garden Podcast FB Discussion Group," by visiting http://www.facebook.com/groups/likeawateredgarden and be sure to share your insights and takeaways.Original music written & performed by Braxton Hibbert. Please rate/review this podcast! Spoiler...YES!
Come Follow Me New Testament Bible Joseph Smith Matthew 1; Mark 12-13; Luke 21 (The Second Coming of Jesus) What is the truth about the 2nd Coming of Jesus. What will it look like? What exactly will happen? What is the "Sign of Man?" Is Jesus coming back in an UFO (unidentified flying object)? We will also briefly discuss the 200 watchers or fallen angels who came down on Mt. Hermon and had sexual relations with human women resulting in the giants (think of Goliath, and Og of Bashan for examples), and their being bound up for 70 generations as a punishment for that act, and for revealing great technology to mankind. Their release therefore would have been sometime around the 1900's when great technological advancement began once again. All this and much more in this exciting episode. Sadly, you probably never heard any of this in Sunday School even though it is very basic and is plainly taught all throughout the scriptures. Our main focus as always though, is in coming unto Jesus Christ and His Church and becoming saved. This scripture highlight provides prophetic insights into the Savior's words to His disciples found in the days just prior to His death and Resurrection. It addresses some of the signs of His imminent Second Coming in our day, as well as prophetic words of warning to help us make sure we're prepared for that day, and prophecies of joy, overcoming the world, and the promise that for God's righteous covenant-keeping children, "the best is yet to come."

Come Follow Me: Mental Health Insights with Dr. David T. Morgan
In this episode we'll talk about Joseph Smith Matthew 1, Matthew 24-25, Mark 12-13, and Luke 21. We'll talk briefly about the Second Coming prophecies and how we need to heed the Lord's counsel to "fear not" and to take things a day at a time. We'll review the parable of the talents and the Savior's observation of the widow at the treasury. Both of these accounts help us understand the pointlessness of cross-comparison and how we need to do the best with what we've given. We'll also talk about how we need to have an appropriate balance between serving ourselves and serving others, and how the Holy Ghost can help us understand what that balance needs to be. This week we are studying the second coming of Jesus Christ! We are reading Joseph Smith—Matthew 1; Matthew 24–25; Mark 12–13; Luke 21 “The Son of Man Shall Come” What is Joseph Smith—Matthew? Joseph Smith—Matthew, located in the Pearl of Great Price, is the Joseph Smith Translation of the last verse of Matthew 23 and all of Matthew 24. Joseph Smith's inspired revisions restore precious truths that had been lost. Verses 12–21 refer to the destruction of Jerusalem anciently; verses 21–55 contain prophecies about the last days. This week the children will come away knowing: Jesus wants me to serve others. We serve Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ by serving people around us. I am responsible for my own conversion to Jesus Christ. The parable of the ten virgins for kids teaches that we cannot borrow our conversion to the Savior from others. They will also learn the parable of the sheep and goats for kids. We also discuss that at the Final Judgment, we will give the Lord an account of our lives. This is a Come Follow me podcast for children. We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and we create this podcast for primary aged children (2-12) following along with the church's Come Follow Me Manual. This is a New Testament Bible Study podcast for children. If your children would like to be guests on our podcast email us at comefollowmekidspodcast@gmail.com and we will send you an assignment for a future week. From Come Follow Me:Jesus's disciples must have found His prophecy startling: the mighty temple of Jerusalem, the spiritual and cultural center of the Jewish people, would be destroyed so utterly that “there [would] not be left … one stone upon another.” Naturally the disciples wanted to know more. “When shall these things be?” they asked. “And what is the sign of thy coming?” (Joseph Smith—Matthew 1:2–4). The Savior's answers revealed that the great destruction coming to Jerusalem—a prophecy fulfilled in AD 70—would be relatively small compared to the signs of His coming in the last days. Things that seem even more stable than the temple in Jerusalem will prove to be temporary—the sun, the moon, the stars, the nations, and the sea. Even “the powers of heaven shall be shaken” (Joseph Smith—Matthew 1:33). If we are spiritually aware, this commotion can teach us to put our trust in something truly permanent. As Jesus promised, “Heaven and earth shall pass away; yet my words shall not pass away. … And whoso treasureth up my word, shall not be deceived” (Joseph Smith—Matthew 1:35, 37).The thoughts, ideas, and beliefs we express on this channel do not officially represent The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
