As disciples of Jesus Christ, we will all be asked to speak--whether it's to speak up for ourselves or someone else, to speak in favor of or against issues that matter, or to speak, teach and even preach about Jesus & His gospel. Paul's second and third missions, in Acts 16-28, demonstrate his willingness, ability, and the skills he used to speak, teach, and bring souls unto Christ, to defend himself and others, and to further the cause of Christianity in the ancient days. We can learn from Paul as we, too, seek to be witnesses of Jesus Christ, to speak His words, & bring forth His gospel in our modern world. How can you better understand and do God's will for you? We look to Jesus for the example: "...nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done." How can we ever comprehend that Great Sacrifice Jesus made for us in the Garden of Gethsemane? How even He asked, "...remove this cup from me?" Dr. Christina Hibbert discusses the world's view of "free will and determinism," vs. God's gift of agency and how we, like Judas, Peter, and even Jesus, may USE our agency to do our own, Satan's or God's will.00:00-13:42“QOTW: How can I know and follow God's will for me?”13:43-25:17“Free will vs. Determinism, from psychology, vs. Agency from God”25:18-32:27“Conversion is to ‘know the gospel is true & BE true to the gospel'”33:27-40:33“‘Nevertheless, not my will, but thine, be done'; ‘shrink not'”40:34-45:04“‘The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak'”45:05-END“Peter, and 4 Objectives to help you do God's will”Find Study Guides, episodes, & SUBSCRIBE to our email list at : http://www.likeawateredgarden.comAbout this podcast:Welcome to Like a Watered Garden, a Come Follow Me-inspired mental health & personal growth podcast that shows you how to personalize the holy scriptures to help you “overcome, become, and flourish” in physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health & wellness, so you may feel, as Isaiah writes, “...like a watered garden and a spring whose waters fail not.”I'm your host, Dr. Christina Hibbert, clinical psychologist, author, speaker, wife & mom, & member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. For our second season, we'll be following the Come Follow Me manual and learning in The New Testament, our goal being to draw closer to Christ as we study His birth, ministry, death & resurrection. To learn more about Dr. Christina Hibbert, please visit http://www.drchristinahibbert.com or http://www.instagram.com/drchristinahibbert or http://www.facebook.com/DrCHibbertTo learn more about this podcast, find bonus materials, handouts, and videos, visit http://www.likeawateredgarden.com and/or Instagram, http://www.instagram.com/likeawatered.garden .Join our "Like a Watered Garden Podcast FB Discussion Group," by visiting http://www.facebook.com/groups/likeawateredgarden and be sure to share your insights and takeaways.Original music written & performed by Braxton Hibbert. Please rate/review this podcast!Let's connect: http://www.likeawateredgarden.com http://www.instagram.com/likeawatered.gardenhttp://www.instagram.com/drchristinahibbert http://www.facebook.com/groups/likeawateredgardenPlease rate/review this podcast! Jesus gave a new commandment to "love one another as I have loved you." How can we receive this love from Him? How can we better show this love to others? What does it mean to abide in Him? To be part of "the true vine?" To let Him be our "way, truth and life?" These chapters of John give an intimate look into the Savior's final hours with His disciples and show us how we can be better disciples, too.00:00-10:46“QOTW: How can I better love one another as Jesus loves me?”10:47-20:14“He purges all who bring forth fruit, to bring forth more”20:15-33:10“He is the vine, we are the branches; ‘Love one another'”33:11-40:11“He is the ‘way, truth, life'; Seek the Second Comforter”40:12-50:46 “If we love Him, we will…; Receive & use the Holy Ghost”50:47-END“Unity & ‘What is the loving thing to do?'”Find Study Guides, episodes, & SUBSCRIBE to our email list at : http://www.likeawateredgarden.comAbout this podcast:Welcome to Like a Watered Garden, a Come Follow Me-inspired mental health & personal growth podcast that shows you how to personalize the holy scriptures to help you “overcome, become, and flourish” in physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health & wellness, so you may feel, as Isaiah writes, “...like a watered garden and a spring whose waters fail not.”I'm your host, Dr. Please rate/review this podcast! In the final hours of Jesus' mortal ministry, He instituted the Sacrament, as a way for His disciples to remember that He was with them and ransomed them. He instituted this divine ordinance for us as His disciples, too, and all He asks in return is that we "always remember Him," take upon us His name, and keep His commandments. How can we always remember Him? How can we better love and serve Him by loving one another? Dr. Christina Hibbert shares the 3 processes of memory, how we can better remember through meaning, and specific strategies to help us always remember Him in this meaningful episode of Like a Watered Garden (a Come Follow Me- New Testament-inspired mental health and personal growth podcast). 00:00-13:30“The woman who served Christ will be remembered”13:31-26:41“QOTW: How do I ‘always remember Jesus'? 3 processes of memory”26:42-32:21“‘Lord, is it I?'”32:22-42:56“‘...in remembrance of my body which I give a ransom for you'”42:57-END “Strategies to remember Jesus–timer, pictures, meaning, serve, love others…”Find Study Guides, episodes, & SUBSCRIBE to our email list at : http://www.likeawateredgarden.comAbout this podcast:Welcome to Like a Watered Garden, a Come Follow Me-inspired mental health & personal growth podcast that shows you how to personalize the holy scriptures to help you “overcome, become, and flourish” in physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health & wellness, so you may feel, as Isaiah writes, “...like a watered garden and a spring whose waters fail not.”I'm your host, Dr. Please rate/review this podcast! How may we be prepared for Jesus Christ's Second Coming? The events of our day can feel scary and chaotic, but with patience, as we turn to the Lord, He shows us how to prepare ourselves, not be "troubled," and look forward with faith to His triumphant return. As Jesus discussed these events, and the destruction of Jerusalem & the temple, He also taught various methods we may use to grow in patience as we prepare to become more like Him today & be ready for Him when He comes again. 00:00-15:28 “QOTW: How can I be more patient?
